  1. thanks for reminding me, its set aside from someone atm.
  2. Just pay shipping and handling and Ill send it to you. I highly suspect that its the USB C connector that needs to be replaced; this would unplug and power on/off at the slightest touch, and now only the LEDs have power. It was just cheaper to buy a new one than it was to repair it, so this would be perfect for the one person out there who wants to give it a shot at fixing it. This was the piece in my flight sim pit thats been driving me nuts for the last 8 months and kept me from flying. Send me a message and Ill ship to you. Preferably USA only, but Im charging just shipping.
  3. I have 6 installed in my pc at this moment; 2x 2tb, 3x1tb. and 1x 4tb. Between MSFS, X Plane 11/12 and DCS, thats my 4tb drive just gobbled up. With the size of games coming out nowadays, 1tb drives are the new 250gb drives, and realistically, only 4tb drives or greater are necessary. They are not cheap. I paid almost 300 bucks for my PCIE 5 microcenter brand 2tb NVMe on sale.
  4. Tried both, but normally have it defaulted on.
  5. Im mostly interested in doing things the hard way, never know when Jesters going to say adios. Nice to know that its a hands on affair the whole way...guess I have a lot of reading to do. Thanks for the assist!
  6. seems navigation is only doable with a flight plan, does the navigation computer only hold 2 coordinates? Thanks for the quick reply, theres quite a bit to piece together.
  7. I am currently beating my head against something hard trying to figure out how to navigate waypoints using anything and Ive been digging through the manual trying to pick up the tidbits but all Im finding is just how the system works. I also kinda figured that the training mission would assist in this regard as well but by the time I get to altitude Im told Im outside of the flight boundaries. Where can I find the best information on how to do this? I am VAGUELY familiar with the TACAN navigation, I get the VOR, NDB stuff...but navigating to waypoints is a bit beyond my senility stretched pea brain....
  8. During a training mission, I noticed that I cant adjust the afterburner sound no matter what I do. I physically have to dial down my volume knob on my computer speakers in order to quiet them up. I dont have any afterburner tickboxes marked in the audio settings tab and I can slide all the volume knobs off and still hear afterburner.
  9. greyw0lf would like to have words with you....
  10. Ive never seen just much of a difference between the two, Ive always had a compressed file system on my game drives. Then again, I havent really flown much in a while and a bunch of new maps have come out that Im just starting to explore so I dont even have a baseline anymore. But since I went to Gen 5 NVme, my load times have drastically improved regardless. What used to be a 2-3 minute load for DCS now takes around 1 minute or so without a compressed drive, and since then some new improvements in DCS as a whole so I cant even say its the drive or DCS performing better.
  11. You know what? I havent tried this in a while and I reformatted my drive not long ago and removed Windows 11. Ill have to try this tonight, but Im not flying VR anymore and I can just source my sound through both speakers and headphones. It sounds like you have a conflicting device now. You run anything through an equalizer?
  12. nobody, huh? does my breath stink or what?
  13. didnt know there was an update, I downloaded this day 1 and just started it first time last night...guess Ill have to update and see!
  14. I heard somewhere that I could paste the tedac info on a winwing lua, Ive really no idea how to set it up though. Assume that 2 is 3840x2160, and the other 3 are the winwing mips @768x1024. I want my TEDAC right there at 6 (or 3 if easier, and scooch the others down). Where would my X/Y coordinates be, and all I would really need to paste to the WWMonitor lua would be, but with the correct axis, right? --formerly just TEDAC AH64_TEDAC = { x = 1615; --1544 y = 1706; --1696 width = 615; --740 height = 770; --760 } And I am assuming, but the AH64_TEDAC = is what calls up the image from DCS to be exported, right?
  15. Is there any way to utilize another monitor in SimApp Pro in lieu of a WinWing MIPS monitor? The only monitors I can select are the MIPS monitors and it sure would be nice to use SimApp to export a screen to my TEDAC.
  16. Flew the OH-6 for the firs time today and just blown away by how easy it was to fly right off the bat! Honestly dont know what the big fuss was about with people complaining it was twitchy, but then again Ive been flying helicopters in DCS forever now so it was easier for me to predict how good it was going to fly...but man was it a dream to fly! Anyone interested in watching the track, here it is. Next, the weapons... Now, how about an MD500E Defender next?! OH6 first flight .trk
  17. good question...I usually try more to fix my rig than anything else, but thats finally come to an end. not quite sure when Ill pick back up again, but probably really soon.
  18. last time it was a Razbam module: Harrier, Mirage2k, Eagle...people, just whitelist the whole of DCS. The odds your pc even catches a cold anymore are slim to none. Honestly I cant even remember the last time Windows Defender even caught a whiff of something legitimately dangerous.
  19. Hammer1-1 edit: added more screens
  20. they did last night, it should have been fixed by now.
  21. So I got to looking into my install folder and was curious as to how much DCS took, and not taking into account my Saved Games folder (just my custom skins made for me, add 100GB), my entire DCS library takes up almost a full terabyte of disk space. All my skins and mods (just the OH6, A4E and F15EX) are held on a separate disk. Mind you that I have all the modules, campaigns, terrain, tech add-ons and assets packs, so yours would likely vary. With THAT information out of the way, my question is this: what kind of performance hit would one take with compressing the files to save on disk space? For the longest time Ive kept it compressed, but Ive also heard that theres a penalty that comes with that in the form of loading times, stuttering and what not. I would really like to hear thoughts on this because yeah...DCS takes up more space than Ghost of Tsushima, GTA5, Hell Let Loose, RDR2, and about 6 other games. FWIW, DCS is installed on a PCIE 5.0 M2 NVMe drive with 10kMB read/ 9.5kMB write speeds.
  22. I bet even her truck sounds mad.
  23. Dude, you want the last word? Its yours. Just like herpes, you can brag about having it in your own private war stories.
  24. why would I care who reads the garbage? Again, its your brain cells; you deplete them any way you see fit and I wont judge. Arrivederci
  25. yeah it would also be nice to have a glider in DCS as well...that would be sweet! Pretty much the only thing I fly all the time in MSFS...
