nope, I swear to god I tried that new launcher recently...I use skates all the time. I dunno, maybe I just saw the picture of it, fiddled with it and went to bed. Maybe Im losing my mind.

Im having extreme troubles trying to get DCS to run on my Samsung Odyssey Ark and its a veritable slide show the whole time. When the menu finally pops up, it takes a few minutes just to move the mouse cursor. Alt tabbing out takes forever, and when I do manage to, my taskmanager has DCS pegged at 2800+MB memory running at 5%. Resolution on this monitor is a whopping 3840x2160. I have no problems running DCS on my Samsung Odyssey G9 at 5120x1440. Its ONLY on this large monitor that I get the severe stuttering, and Ive no idea whats causing it. The only hardware I have connected at the moment would be my HOTAS and a few other peripherals; my winwing MIPS is offline, my other desktop monitor is offline...Im at my wits end right now. Any help appreciated, and yes Ive tried the obvious. This is 100% a fresh install of DCS from a few weeks ago and no, I havent flown since then. I dont have any problems running other games on that monitor either. Deleting the config folder seems to clear out the issue; however, the moment I try to adjust any of the visual settings reinstates the mess.

So trying to load up DCS again on my new 4k monitor, and the moment I pull down a dropdown menu in settings, DCS just stutters to a slow crawl and I have to reboot my pc to exit. Its things like this that make me not want to fly DCS anymore because theres no way I should be having these issues. Just merely dropping the monitor list causes my stuttering, its unplayable for me. The menu of all things...

I was fiddling with it the other day....am I losing my damned mind?

Needed, been waiting on that for a while now...and we need more presets too. I thought it was already released, I recall seeing it before...did they remove it in the last update?

Then I would check the following to see if they are in the folders: Bazar/Textures/buildings_*aut, *spr, *sum, and *win to see if HAS_Shelter and HAS_Shelter2.dds is installed. If they are, remove them and see if it makes a difference. If they arent, then thats your problem. If it doesnt change, then you have the mod installed incorrectly.

Im actually very interested in knowing. Thinking its just one person because Im not consistently checking on the status on this. Im not trying to put my heads up someones butt to get a ball rolling.

again, give a different season a shot with the mod installed. if it still does this, then it should be relatively easy to fix..even easier if it works.

only thing I can think of is that the textures for the aircraft shelters are corrupt or missing. even if they were missing, they wouldnt replace the sims textures, so thinking that those files are bad. you might have to find the file yourself and delete it personally before installing it so it doesnt overwrite the games file. Try a different season before uninstalling.

is it still doing it with the mod uninstalled?

How many people are currently working on the F4U at the moment? Any idea?

Why would they need to model the Kuz? Its been in port almost its whole life with very few deployments under its belt and its currently either being scrapped or overhauled IIRC? The only thing they would really need to model other than what we already have would be the dock it sits in, the tugs that accompany it everywhere it goes, and update the smoke, fire and damage effects..

If it took 14 years for the OH-58 to come to life, 8 years is a good number for the F4U to me. So far its been a great year for module releases; looking hard to see if this one is released before summer but Im expecting it when the WW2 Marianas map gets released. Theres not enough stoke in the world to explain how stoked I will be when it finally comes out!

If thats true, then ok...but I had these modules in 2020 as well, I never experienced this up until a week or two ago and its like people wont shut up about it now. Hell I stumbled upon my issue, troubleshot it while posting a thread about it, fixed it and then found out from others that its been a big problem lately. I mentioned something like that not long ago either here or facebook, thats the conclusion I came to.

am I the only one that finds it odd that this just started happening recently? or is there an explanation to that? almost 9 years since I purchased it, this is the first time Ive ever had a false positive with anything in DCS.

The one thing thats been irking me lately is how tedious it is to set things up on a first start or resetting a saved game folder to fix errors. Here me out; I own all of these modules, and a LOT of these modules have settings that can be tied to other modules. For instance: helicopter cyclic and rudder settings. They all have options for center, FFB, or default. Propeller aircraft have takeoff assistance. A lot of them have english cockpits, and yes I know that not all of these modules have the same exact settings...but thats only in addition TO, for example the SA342 has a fade in/out setting. All of them have cockpit shake. It would be awesome if all of these similar settings could be consolidated into one specific tick box or slider instead of having to go through each and every single aircraft. I understand that not every aircraft behaves the same, but one could leave the option still there in the special tab to be adjusted individually as well.

I have the same issue. Fresh install, fresh Saved Game folder, generating over 8000mb in task manager just sitting on the main menu. Its BAD. I get better performance in the sim than I do on the main menu. Its almost unplayable for me...seems like it also takes forever to load into the main screen as well. Alt tabbing to the desktop takes forever and seems to relieve some pressure but it acts back up within about 30 seconds. Small edit: I normally only see this on my Odyssey Ark 3840x2880 monitor with my winwing mips running. I dont have a big problem with it on my Odyssey G9 running 5120x1440.

I mentioned this issue about 2 weeks ago trying to troubleshoot why DCS kept crashing. This is a well known issue at the moment.

I cant remember, Ive seen a few videos or articles not made by you which made me assume you have some beta testers out there trying it out?Cant remember off the top of my head where I got my info, maybe my memory is failing me...which could be true by the way...but Im fairly certain Ive seen a few other people posting about it elsewhere.
