  1. The Huey doesn't need that many HOTAS-buttons. But for my fixed wings I use the X56 stick
  2. TAD, TGP, MAV, as well as the HUD are the only SOIable sensors I can think of
  3. Look at this https://www.helisimmer.com/news/k-51-released-low-cost-collective
  4. Amazing! Looking forward to watch your progress!
  5. Oh yes! I'm in. Do you take orders?
  6. Maneuvering the Huey is so much easier with a force feedback joystick. Luckily, I'm 400 years old, so I have the old MSFB2.0 stick. With a force feedback stick, you use the trimmer to set a NEW initial position on the stick, so both hover and forward flight is a breeze.
  7. I was experimenting to set one of my rotaries as wheel brake on my X56, then I forgot I did that, and then when I hit my wheel brake BUTTON, nothing happened, because my rotary switch overrode my button. Could that be the case?
  8. I have no problems starting up the aircraft with Oculus Rift. Just to clarify, are you going through the normal startup procedure? RIGHT ALT+HOME does nothing apart from setting your right throttle to idle position, unless you have the battery, apu and fuel pumps running
  9. Now it worked. I'm not sure why though, because now I was just supposed to fly it and save the track so I could post it here, but now the glide slope motherf** appeared on the artifical horizon. The mission was set so it had headwind the "correct" way all along, as well as the radar altimeter was also on all along (startup from runway). Anyways, thanks for your replies!
  10. When I do the landing training mission for the A10, I get the glide slope steering bar (the yellow horizontal line) over the artificial horizon. But when I try this in my own missions, I can't for the love of god get this to work. I set the ILS frequency according to the runway (and make sure I'm landing in the direction there's an ILS). Then I call inbound to the ATC, head the direction asked, turn in on approach, sets the HSI course to runway heading, and sets ILS as homing mode on the NMSP. What am I missing? All I see is the Localizer (as long as ADI is set to ABLE). No matter how steep or shallow my approach is, there's no horizontal yellow line over my artificial horizon
  11. The teacher asks me to set the HUD to Air to air mode (by pushing the M-key, or the Hotas Master Mode button), but I only have NAV, GUNS, CCIP and CCRP. What am I missing? The tutorial won't go to next step before I've accomplished that. I have lock on the Su-25 with the sidewinder, and can see it clearly on the TGP page I'm on the latest 2.5.6 Open Beta
  12. Same thing in 2.5.6 OB. After I've entered "KOP", and hit LSK right 3, the mission won't progress. (I'm also using Oculus Rift)
  13. Thank you very much for your reply! In the "Worlds apart" Huey Campaign (made by Low-Level Heaven/forum user CLPH), the copilot monitors the exhaust temp while you're flying the last night mission, so I think it's at least possible to implement. Some sort of listener on that gauge, and play an audio file whenever a certain value exceeds the treshold, or something.
  14. Great effort! I've been enjoying this server for about 6 hours so far. Here's my list/wishes: -It would be really cool with some changes in the weather, as stated previously in this thread. Preferably dynamically, with some sort of randomness. I have no idea if that's even possible in the current state of DCS World. -Though it might be cool to be able to adjust rope length, I really don't understand why not my crew can just decide that part. When I'm hovering over treetops in a steep incline, and finally manage to establish a hover 70m above the guy, it's just annoying to get the message that I'm either too low (?) or too high. -In the same scenario, why does the guy I'm supposed to rescue hide himself under the highest spruce on the hill, covered by a dense forest? Wouldn't it be a bit more realistic that the people who wants to be saved manage to find a bit more open area where it's easier for the chopper to land/hover? -Also when hovering (especially in high altitude), is it possible to let the copilot give me a little heads up before I'm about to burn up my engine? Just give me a hint that the exhaust gas is now in yellow, or something? (In the Huey) But I'm still enjoying this server a lot! Keep up the good work, and please don't be tempted to add enemies that wants to shoot you down ;)
  15. Thanks! That looks promising, but I hate custom mods, and all those multiplayer integrity problems which follows. I can't believe why ED hasn't implemented this as standard, because it obviously will help a lot on the performance, as I can read from other users in the thread. I will keep it in mind, though!
  16. Thanks! I'll have a look! :)
  17. I have a 2070 card, but was using people with 1070 as an example. I'll turn off SSAA to if that helps.
  18. Hello! I've seen people saying (braging?) they have maxed out settings in DCS with their 1070 GPU while using Oculus Rift, and I can't even come close with my 2070 GPU. What is wrong with my system? Specs: CPU : Intel Core i7-5930K 4,5 GHz 6 cores RAM : 16GB DDR4 2666MHz GPU : MSI RTX 2070 Gaming Z 8 GB OS : Windows 10 Professional DCS version : 2.5.6 Open Beta Here are a few screenshots of the performance monitor while playing a single player mission (instant action - free flight - Huey - Caucasus) CPU: RAM: GPU: And my DCS settings: Oculus Tray Tool settings: And my frame rate in-game: I don't need fancy graphics, but what I want is solid FPS at 45 (max FPS for Oculus Rift), and SHARP images Any advice greatly appreciated.
  19. Hi! Haven't been in here for a while. But sure, if my time schedule fits, I would like to join your test server. I've added it to my discord now :)
  20. I don't know, maybe some other pilot had just picked them up? It happened again on my second attempt; no soldiers/patients at the site, just an orange smoke. So I decided to do another misson, which was a bit further away, and then it worked! Fantastic! This is by far the coolest thing I've done in a flight simulator! Thank you so much!
  21. Ok, I logged on that server now, and tried to do a rescue mission. I flew towards the nearest pickup point, got the orange smoke and landed. But what do I do from there? Nothing happens, and there are no obviously commands to send out the "stretcher team" or a medic to get the unit into the chopper. Are there any manual or guide out there?
  22. Thanks, I will check this out :)
  23. That's a good question indeed. I googled it, and found out due to the new trees that has been setup in the 2.5 patch, that mission was broken. So what I did was actually editing that particular mission in the mission editor, and then watched a tutorial on youtube in order to remove vegetation. The mission itself should be under this path: ..\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\Uh-1H\Missions\Campaigns\ This was the tutorial I used:
