  1. They said they were exploring the idea and not that it was going to happen.
  2. How would it be boring for Rotorheads? There are tons of mountains and numerous cities to fly in.
  3. What was shown on the April 1st stream is there. It was simply zoomed out to include a lot of the low-res terrain. You can still utilize those areas, they just won't be "pretty." This is the same situation if you open up NTTR in the ME and zoom all the way out. No it won't. The Hornet already has short legs and cannot travel around the entire map with three bags and not refuel. Also see my previous reply about the low-res areas. Wags already indicated that they are exploring the idea of expanding Persian Gulf Map. They have not made a decision on whether they will or not. Even if they have had decided, they would have to delay the Persian Gulf Map by months to add what you are asking.
  4. That is only because the Caucus redesigned came after the release of NTTR and Normandy. For the longest time NTTR was the most popular map - period. When the Persian Gulf drops, most servers will be running it - enjoy being the minority...
  5. No. What you saw during development is the aeronautical chart for the Persian Gulf. Just like with NTTR the aeronautical chart extends well outside of the "game map."
  6. We need to wait and see what all ED is putting together with the basket physics. Skate may not need to do anything or he may need to modify it a great deal. No point in spinning his wheels until he knows what he needs to change.
  7. You used to find only NTTR maps online for the longest time in the Open Beta, even after Normandy release. I think most people simply took a break from NTTR when the revised Caucasus was released and to enjoy carrier ops with the Harrier. I still fly over NTTR from time to time. When Persian Gulf drops it will become the most popular option for some time to come.
  8. Has ED given any thoughts to using deferred shading to have more voluminous clouds especially of the cumulonimbus type? I know clouds are a WIP, specifically asking as deferred shading has created impressive smoke effects with negligible performance hit.
  9. MLWS = Missile Launch Warning System
  10. That's true now that I think of it.
  11. You still leave it open for interpretation. ED doesn't add these assets to the map; you as the mission designer add assets to the map as you so chose. Why would things be different on the Persian Gulf Map versus others? Why do you want to be restricted to having assets at fixed locations on the map for every possible scenario you could think to have? ED has already indicated that they are working on SAM assets for Iran... You will be able to place then at your leisure...
  12. Yes, Wags made mention of that already. Projecting the waypoint on the ground is one of the remaining items for the NAV system to implement.
  13. It already is displayed in the HUD, it is a vertical line beneath the heading tape at the top to indicate where the selected way point is. Wags even mentions it specifically in the NAV and Waypoint video they released yesterday.
  14. ED isn't neglecting the Red side because they want to do Blue. They are bound by a lot of Russian laws that prevent them from doing a lot of work on the Red side. I hope they can finagle some deals to allow them to bolster the DCS-level Red side in the future - it is needed.
  15. It has been long known that the F-16 was in the works. Before the F-18C was announced it was up for debate if we were getting the Viper or the Hornet; up until that point we were only told we were getting a modern Western fighter used by many countries around the world. It makes sense in the long and short term as a lot of the technology they are building can be moved from the Hornet module to the Viper module with less effort. It will still be a big undertaking and I wouldn't be surprised if some of those steps are already in the works. I would not expect an F-16 announcement before Christmas '18. That does not mean we are getting one around the time, merely a formal acknowledgement of what is to come. At the earliest I would expect EA to be late Spring of '19. The refinement of the Hornet will still take a lot of effort over the next 12-18 months after release, though there will be team members that have less and less workload in regards to the Hornet that can move on to the next project. This is of course, just my merely humble opinion....
  16. If we missed the point then you haven't thoroughly nor clearly presented your "point" or intent to your audience.
  17. You can't have a cold and dark setup with the engines already started...
  18. Yep give it a name like BaseMission or something like that. Then save as new once you made the changes for the new mission.
  19. There are times when a pilot will get into an aircraft that is already started; the vast majority of the time their jet is cold and dark.
  20. I disagree. I think as long as the developer is forthright with what is missing or not complete, you can decide to buy when it makes sense for you.
  21. Subscribed, sure why not... Let's see what they can do.
  22. RAZBAM did a rough timeline with the M2000C and people tore them up every time something came up that delayed the schedule. "Once bitten, twice shy"
  23. Agreed, I hope we can as well. You would need some type of ground crew lining you up, especially if a server has exterior views disabled.
  24. I'm starting feel like we are being spoiled... and I like it!
