Yeah, it's just SA for short.

Getting one carrier with the F-14 is enough. To expect them to provide three carriers is a bit of a stretch.
-
I think I remember them mentioning that they are working on that as it became a more apparent issue with the Harrier and LHA takeoffs.
-
The F-15C has a PFM/EFM already as I believe the SU-33/SU-27 do as well. The Mig-29 is still in the works. The workload will be greater in the Hornet, though the capabilities with sensors will also be greater. In a turning fight, with a good pilot, the Hornet should get an advantage over the F-15C. The Su-27 should be able to leverage their HMD tracking to get first shot with off-bore IR missile launches. That is until the Hornet gets the Aim-9X which will have a greater off-bore site launch window. If the SU-27 gets into a slow turning fight and cannot get an IR missile launch off, the Hornet pilot should be able to get his nose on the SU-27 with its nose authority and get a gun kill.

I believe the A-6 is in RAZBAM's honey-do-list.

Thanks for the update, well worth the wait. I still think you should have toyed with the emotions of the people who were complaining with a "fake" update.

I don't know why people are getting their "panties in such a twist" at the moment. The updates will come when they come. I'm anxious to see, read and hear more about the status of the Tomcat. If one person posts a question about if a date is still valid - cool. When multiple people start arguing and acting like they were promised something on these forums and others - well now you are just being silly. Take a deep breath, go outside and just do something. Heatblur will post updates when they have things "put together" in a manner in which they are ready to show it.

What should I expect from Harrier? Considering getting this next
Revelation replied to fergrim's topic in AV-8B N/A
RZABAM said that they would like to do the II Plus after ED releases the A/A & A/G radar code from the Hornet. Whether that will actually happen has to be seen. You should expect for it to be a separate module at the very least and not an update to the current Harrier module. Ultimately the Harrier NA is a great Bird. She guzzles gas and will prep you for the "short legs" of the Hornet. There are still a lot of features to be implemented and it will only get better with time. -
Carrier module discount for F/A-18C Preorder customers
Revelation replied to Rammit's topic in Wish List
ED loves their bundles so one would be naive to think one won't be available someday. If a bundle deal is important to you then I suggest you hold off on your purchase until a bundle deal is available. Heck if you wait long enough you'll be able to get the Hornet / Carrier in a bundle deal for $30. You might have to wait a number of years so enjoy. At this time there is no guarantee of a bundle deal nor has any promise been made. To expect ED to offer you a deal later on is nonsense. The deal, if you already pre-purchased, you agreed to was a discount on the retail price of the DCS F/A-18C module. There's most likely going to be a pre-purchase discount on the Carrier Module when it gets released, isn't that already enough? How much more of a discount do you need? I bet if we added up the cost of your PC components and your peripherals the cost of a module is a small drop in the bucket. -
Who would be interest in a Hard Copy Manual?
Revelation replied to Freeroamer's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I wanted to chime in, I had ordered a manual through lulu and the quality is pretty darn good. The price is great; around $16.78 and came out to around $24 with shipping and tax. The pages are thick and they don't feel cheap. I chose color standard - spiral bound and all of the images, different colored text and highlighted text came out just fine. If you were wanting a hard copy of manual, you cannot go wrong with lulu.com. Personal Note: I think the A4 size is a little too big and I will chose a slight smaller option the next one I do. I think 2/3 of the A4 size would be ideal in my opinion. -
Not to mention they would need to spend at least a year to improve the Radar modeling in game for all units, especially SAM assets.
-
I can see where the basket is no longer "clippable," where your probe will clip through the basket and attach to the hose. I think that will be a welcome change and one that will add more difficulty to the AAR process.
-
You can't put in coords yet; that is coming.
-
Chances are you will have to pay attention to the forums or the patch notes for each release.
-
It's because they are using a mod to fly the hornet (exterior model) things are not working perfectly on the aircraft.

Pretty confident that dual-rack GBU-12s will be possible, we have to wait for confirmation if dual-racked GBU-38s will happen.

Amraam updated for F18?
Revelation replied to RRino's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
ED has indicated, before, that they would like to put some work into the 120's. Exactly what will come of it, we do not know. The only thing we know for sure is that AMRAAM support will not be included in the early days of EA. -
Most likely; at least the initial ones. I'm sure there will be payware campaigns/missions that will be available for other terrains.
-
Congrats and we welcome our brethren as they leave the dark side....

What would you expect from a carrier modul by ED?
Revelation replied to RED's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I wish I had added these next wishes to the original thread Wags started a long time ago.... New "carrier view" on the map where the user of the carrier (i.e. player controlled) can see a radar overlay of the carrier and any objects detected. I'd like the ability for pilots to set squawk codes and for those to be visible as well. The player can also point and click to target hostile aircraft or missiles. There should be another view where the player controlling the carrier can plan aircraft movement on the deck and hangar space. The actual movement would be carried out by players and or AI. -
So I did a cursory search and I didn't see the video posted already. We know the 9X will not be available during the early-early access days. In the video below you can see several setups that are common with air engagements. Heck I have found myself in many of those same situations flying online. Seeing some of the capabilities of the 9X is amazing. If ED models it to 1/2 of what it can do, it will decimate close-in battles. Understand that I do not believe the 9X is a "golden gun" or a 100% PK with every launch. It will simply be an amazing tool available to win a fight.
