Just a couple of interesting thoughts... Does the actual front of the aim9 cool down? And if it does, can you see the temperature change through an IR camera (like the TGP)? :music_whistling:

hmm. This is a great idea in my opinion, just a couple of problems/notes: 1) This has been done in Rise Of Flight, large performance hit and the fact that it focused on the center of the screen always meant it could get clunky, but it added to the immersion 10000x :thumbup: 2) This is very realistic, as others have already pointed out. 3) This can be achieved in game already using stereoscopic techniques or a 3d monitor. However both are impractical and 3d tv's are a scam (3d tv's without glasses have been around since the late 90's)

heya, I know I already have my own thread on an issue involving HDR but I am interested in the HDR sun flare that was changed in beta4. Is there a way to get the sun flare to look like it did in beta3? If you are not sure about what the heck I am talking about I can post some screenshots.

hmm, I am getting the error: [string".\mission editor\mission editor.lua"]:872: attempt to call field ? (a nill value) probably my mistake, seeing as others have got this working, but I have checked that line and even when reverted to original I am still getting the error... :huh:

S! all. Now that dcs A10 is working (woot!) and i can fly again for the first time since beta 3 (and what a flight it is, brilliant job ed), i was wondering... what happened to the sun? If you ask me, the post-beta 3 sun looks arcade-y and odd, and I was wondering if there was a simple way to get the old one back :D I would say you wouldn't believe how much fun I am having... but if you own this beast, I'm guessing you already do:thumbup:.

had a herpaderp moment due to excitement and tried to actually click on the bin file when installing rather than the folder containing it. Panicked and tried to MOUNT the bin and install from "cd". woa i am tired, excitement has been keeping me up (i fear dcs is bad for my health :music_whistling:).

did you write this late at night or something? :P I7xxx is a processor not a gfx card. he has 2gb of ram, did you mean gigs instead of megs :huh:? now win7... that i can understand :D

heya, i have xp and i was wondering, is it worth the upgrade to win7 (and 32 or 64?) it costs a heap and i don't know if i will even notice the difference... I mean obviously it is shinier but i don't care much for the shiny-ness.

but i can't! the current beta doesn't work for me!!! :( patience... running... thin... almost time to ask someone to hide the power cable for the computer so i can stop thinking about this :music_whistling:

Hi, i've got a problem i have searched for, but not seen any solution. So, i go to the website and, of course, type in my details and hit log on. However on doing this the web page refreshes exactly the same, like i hit refresh not log on, and if i try to check DCS it says im not logged in. Now, the tricky thing is, if i hit "forgot your password" after hitting log in (and the page refreshing like im not logged in) it says i AM logged in, but as soon as i go back out the site it says im not. :huh: I am really confused right now, any help would be appreciated :)

i think the main thing i am looking for is an update to the LOMAC looking particle effects, its a real let down when you (after days of training) unhook your first mav/bomb and let it rip. You get this weak little speedy trail of smoky looking stuff flail around... :(

clip boards would be cool, but i always have my own clip boards hanging next to me on the wall with checklist, manual (hardly used) and 2 pages of random black paper for target details (these i normally keep next to me at all times). Then on debrief i can flick through the pages and make sure i did everything right/ remember things i have done wrong. Hoping to apply this to the a10 once the game starts running again, beta 5 mebe? :music_whistling:

with beta 4 the option boxes dont come up anymore, will try your suggestion and get back.

hmmm, i'm sure ati cc has an option to change the contrast, will check it out when the game is working again :thumbup:

i will give mushu rep on your behalf ;) they really are brilliant shots, you too diveplane! Mushu, are those photoshopped? Am i being optimistic when i ask how you make the game look so good? Once i get everything working, prepare yourself for some stereoscopic screenies comin your way :)

the problem with the high and medium dcs water settings are that they are perfect, if you are flying 10m above the water... As you get higher these reflections are overdone, it makes me feel like i am flying a model plane above a pond, waves move too fast and not enough small ripples + ultra clear reflections. it should be more matte.

aw bengo, no reason to be like that! I have tried all graphics combinations and come to the conclusion that the beta is unoptimized, which has repeatedly been stated by the team, BS runs fine therefore DCS a10 should run a hell of a lot better than it does at the moment. Better to play the game when it is awesome then be put off at the beginning, i will wait :)

Olgerd, i thought it was an engine flame out due to turbulent air entering the engine, at least that was the conclusion in some other thread.
