  1. +1 Noticed that as well
  2. Agreed. It is the latest, so ofc graphically it's the most gorgeous, but additionally, those cannons and MG can bring a lot of pain for a long time. Anything that crosses in front of the gunsight is dead.
  3. Nineline thought it could be linked to random system failures. I have that checked. I'll uncheck it and see if that changes anything.
  4. Bug is not fixed. Took the Spitfire out today, gunsight puked 10 seconds after takeoff. Wiggled the switch, nothing.
  5. I've never seen someone fight learning so hard before.
  6. The electric pump is to be turned on after takeoff and turned off prior to landing. Otherwise high altitude or high power settings for a few minutes will lead to low fuel pressure. Also, at high altitude, you are supposed to turn on the tank pressure. Otherwise your engine may sputter when you reach a critical altitude. There may be a guy, grafspee, who will barge in here and holler that it isn't necessary/practical to turn on the tank pressure. I have left my tank pressure off before, and had an issue where my Spitfire could not break through 16-17,000 without the engine losing power. It didn't break through that alt barrier until I turned on the tank pressure, so I can surely say that it is simulated, and neccessary at times.

  8. Yeah. The mission needs to be spruced up and SRS is still dead.
  9. He's referring to Burning Skies...I think. While the mission is very basic, it is by no means barren. There are often 20 people online, and on the occasional weekend 40. WoP is still getting its footing, but that by far has the best missions. The aircraft are by no means a waste of money, if you pick the one that suits you, of course. Do keep in mind however that creating such an in-depth simulation (especially that each module is essentially it's own simulation, obeying it's own laws, rather than that set by an broad simulation environment) takes lots of time and effort, and the WWII section of the ED team isn't actually that big. Unfortunately, you just missed a very L-O-N-G 50% sale, and the next one probably won't come around until fall or Christmas. As mentioned above, before buying something, it would be best you download DCS and get used to the TF-51 Mustang, one of the two free aircraft that come with DCS. It will show you what you will expect from DCS aircraft.
  10. Don't go steam. Updates and modules tend to be delayed from anywhere between a week and a month. Also the money you pay goes more directly to ED (and third parties), which is always a good thing. Also don't download Stable. 95% of multiplayer activity is on OpenBeta.
  11. Just buy a module from the game's store (make an account), open DCS, go to the module manager on the top of the menu, find the plane you had just bought (or it'll have a pop-up for you) and download it. Most popular server is Burning Skies, though I'm holding it in less regard each day, because eekz (the admin) doesn't tune or improve the missions, just adds new planes when they become available. Warbirds of Prey is looking promising, and the mission (and dot label for spotting) is infinitely better. Normandy and Assets are of course required. Its only issue currently is publicity (slowly increasing) and to my knowledge, a stats page. That's one plus I'll give to Burning Skies, they have their own website with player stats, missions wins/losses, etc.
  12. On my stats, it shows I shot down a Spitfire whilst in a Kurfürst. But in the above section that displays the time we've flown a particular aircraft, it doesn't even show that I flew a 109 at all. [emoji848]
  13. Are you guys refining the Thunderbolt sounds while there, or just the Mustang (and maybe some other projects [emoji6])? I ask, because a couple weeks ago I stumbled across P-47 and F-16 sounds already in the OpenBeta install. Sounds pretty good, by the way, those samples of the Jug
  14. +1 This should be fixed I don't know why I didn't make a report myself, soonet
  15. You guys are blowing this up. All I said was that I was impressed with the detail ED put into their modules. In the Mustang, when I trim the nose down, hold brakes, and throttle up, the stick will pitch forward. It's these kind of things that ED does not overlook.
  16. Honestly the edge of the glass, as it is now, isn't as impeding as some of you make it to be. Like the Spitfire, aiming requires a bit of intuition. The problem can easily be gotten around in the meantime with practice. So practice! Also, in the video, there doesn't appear to be any distortion at all, when the camera is in position of where the head will be. So, I think a good solution for the time being is making that edge of the frame transparent, just like the rest of the glass, instead of the rusty brown it is now.
  17. The brown I see is leather. All the black (albeit most of what I see in pics is the following) appears to be smooth, having a rubber-like appearance
  18. Oooh! Looks like the Mustang might be getting an audio makeover, eh? [emoji2]
  19. You can view both when you just look outside. You can see cockpits and the nose or wings or tail. Model of the Spitfire cockpit
  20. Turning on the spotlights, they somehow brilliantly illuminate the interior of the cockpit in an unrealistic fashion.
  21. I do have questions, but I feel like these are worthy ones that everyone should see. 1) Is this going to be a serious squad, doing things realistically, or will it be chill/goof off? 2) Schedules necessary? Planned days and times to meet up? Must one attend consistently? 3)Will you be willing to teach people an aircraft? 4)Will you accept people who don't have all the listed aircraft? Or maybe only one or two of them? 5)What do you have in mind for the P-51? 6)What maps will be played on? thx
  22. Sorry for no updates. I started working on the rear fuselage, and I'm still messing around with the front occasionally. I plan on redrawing the heat discoloration and some rivets. Rivets, rivets, rivets. So far, on the rear half of the fuselage, I've done about a third of the riveting, redrew the textures of the tailwheel, as well as redrew panels. Some doors weren't correctly placed or sized. I've been moving along pretty slow, partially due to the workload (rivets) and partly me spending more time actually playing DCS while on summer break. But when it looks at least presentable, I'll be sure to have some screenshots up here. Once this rear fuselage piece is done, this is basically 2/3 of the way complete, because 99% of what I draw on the left or right wing can be copy/pasted on the other. Hope you all are having a good summer
