  1. Come and talk with us in Discord! There are many people who will give a good explanation! https://discord.gg/Cg4Jkj
  2. Aaargh! That's the most confusing and/or obscure way to describe it. It's not just a bar. Saying that a bar is blocking your view sounds like you have a long piece of metal obviously striking through your view, like there's something in between you, your gunsight, and the armored glass. What it is is the bottom edge of the armored glass, drawn to look like it is a FRAME for it. [emoji58] Frame ≠ bar /end angry rant
  3. They are already in.
  4. There are some people complaining about the forward visibility and the lack of properly refracted light going through the armor glass. Honestly, it's not a big problem. People are just nitpicking about it, and it doesn't impede visibility a whole lot. Besides, it looks the same as it does in other games that have a 190
  5. A Zero? I'd 100% fly that!
  6. [emoji848]
  7. The improved DM should have closer true to life results than what we have now. For now, the P-51 can still cleave off wings and tails (of the Dora and Kurfürst, Anton...is a different story lol) off, but only if you hold one long and continuous stream of lead, when you've got your range set on him. Bursts don't cut it right now.
  8. Have you tried the P-51? Or the Mi-8? Or 109 or 190s? I doubt that they'd stop displaying mag heading. [emoji848]
  9. Damage modeling is one of DCS's falling-off points. Realistically, you give short squeezes of the trigger, but with DCS's current DM, I find continuously firing until I lose my firing solution gets the best result, like knocking out pilots, or cleaving wings and tails off on the first pass.
  10. You forgot to reset the MCAS.
  11. We are talking about just the spotting systems, not graphics, GUI, flight models and performance, or gameplay elements.
  12. I think DCS would benefit greatly from very slight scaling (not making aircraft look terrible) and increased contrast. Perhaps that increase of contrast will make spotting aircraft against the ground much more feasible, or at the very least, not make an aircraft seemingly vanish when it flies over any noise in the terrain.
  13. The 2.5 engine? Nine said it was causing more problems than it was worth, but scaling was supported before, for a little time.
  14. I'll point out that red target area 1 is incorrectly marked on the briefing map. The target area is actually next to the river that's just north of where incorrectly indicated. [emoji1303]
  15. Crap, I've run out of popcorn
  16. I actually think scaling could be a moderate halfway solution. It doesn't have to be ridiculous, but a scaling bump 1.2x wouldn't be that noticeable as far as how awkward aircraft would look, but could provide far better visibility at the same time. If you are recalling the model enlargement used in DCS a while back, yeah, especially at the large setting, it looks pretty bad (and blurry). But giving it a very slight bump could make a world of a difference in spotting, without making the aircraft look ridiculous or nasty. [emoji2371] I have changed sides on this now though, and do think that dots (done right) would be a better solution than scaling, in the long [distance] run
  17. That would be me. I fight only in warbirds. I live and breathe them. So, spotting aircraft with me eyes is necessary, and issues with spotting are especially apparent to folks like me who fly the warbirds. [emoji51]
  18. Something I'd like to see is bright areas on aircraft pop more. It's infuriating when I lose aircraft as they fall below the horizon line, forcing me to stop my attack and climb out to safety. I'm not saying dots are or aren't the answer, but I do think at least a little something could be done to improve spotting, but particularly spotting against the landscape.
  19. I'm just going to point out that the Warbirds of Prey server has the best dot labels I've seen, and they're completely custom, unrelated to the dot labels provided by ED. And unlike the ones from ED, they don't instantly pop or vanish into existence, and they offer a good balance between players with 1080p, 4K, or VR. I think that server has set a good example of what dot labels should be.
  20. definitely the Anton. Sturdy, heaviest hitter in DCS imo (4x20mm vs one 30mm in the Kurfürst). Also it's got that iconic 190 look, very important.
  21. How do you have playable F-15E and F-16C? Those are not released aircraft. Mods?
  22. +1 I noticed this, but I admit I was too lazy to file a bug report
  23. Well, that's what UGRA has earned so far.
  24. Same here. One of the files isn't downloading. dx something I think. My start splash screen for it just says to press HOME, and it doesn't do a thing.
  25. You say that like you expect me to remember [emoji38]
