Some people don't have TS or may join online just to kill 20 minutes or so. There are a number of reasons there's a lack of "teamwork" on public servers most of which we don't know the person on the other side. Usually if contact is made teamwork ensues, but if they don't have TS it's very hard to be chatty with typing while maintaining hands on controls. Most squads will let you fly with them as long as you're cool.

I have no doubt that they will be made compatible. If anything not at first, but I'm sure in time it would be made available.

I was in with the 104th (Thunder) the other day! North american server (I think, I was getting 47 ping) and it was a hell of a good time. Squad flying is your best bet to unlock Black Shark MP potential. With FC. 2.0 it will only open up that envelope with fighter support and strike fighters.

Black Shark: Voodoo Extreme 2009 Reader's Choice Awards
element1108 replied to Airway's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Black Shark hands down I'm sorry. Even without a "dynamic campaing" the systems being simulated in the shark alone are unmatched. Rise of flight, you either love ww1 aviation or you hate it, it's not for everyone. A niche within a niche. I appreciate it, just can't get into it enough. Wait until fc 2.0 and a10 ohhh boy! -
How much content on the beta? Looks like a good sim, it just kind o came out of nowhere which is why I haven really jumped on it yet. Does it have a release date?
-
I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's either the F-18 or the AH-64A. In the latest TFC video they showed an F18 taking off from a carrier and there's been a lot of talk about AH...but who knows. Speculate as much as you can, we won't be getting a hint as to what the next module is quite yet.

Do you get to takeoff and land sortie's? Or does the mission cut you off when completed.

Lol groove. Real muzzel flashes aren't compelling enough I guess. Everybody likes an interesting post processing anyway. ;)

Because it's still historically speaking fairly recent. There's still a generation of people who were directly affected by the regime under that flag. Blame Hitler for the corruption of the image, not the people's association of the image.

Looks we get an APACHE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi8WEzltcvc ARMA 2 update 1.05 Pulled from combatsim.com "Bohemia Interactive releases new sneak peek teaser video showing free downloadable content in forthcoming ARMA 2 patch As a continuous commitment to its dedicated fans, Bohemia Interactive, an award winning independent development studio, and IDEA Games, an association of independent developers located in the Czech Republic, today release an exclusive sneak peek teaser video together with pack of four screenshots introducing the forthcoming patch which will upgrade the military simulator ARMA 2 to version 1.05. The video, available for download at http://www.arma2.com, introduces the bonus campaign “Eagle Wing“ featuring the new AH-64 Apache attack helicopter. The “Eagle Wing“ mini-campaign expands upon one of the seven unique endings of the original ARMA 2 over two extensive new levels; It's the year 2012, the war in Chernarus has overgrown into a conflict between the USA and the Russian Federation. The player finds themselves caught in the middle of an escalating conflict. As a pilot of the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, the player's task seems easy - to get behind enemy lines and attack. However the situation is about to change rapidly... Amongst other things the 1.05 patch features a new warfare mode "When Diplomacy Fails", including 3-side support for diplomacy between all factions allowing players to enjoy the strategic part of the game in a size never seen before. Warfare mode is a unique gaming experience first introduced in ARMA: Armed Assault. The mode combines tactical FPS gameplay with strategic elements which allow players to either join the fight in the front lines attacking the enemy directly, or to crush them in a commander position giving orders to other players whilst managing resources and the main base. Moreover each player is allowed to lead his own squad. Up to 32 players are supported, this multiplayer mode is a true war experience. ARMA 2 patch 1.05 will be released later in December 2009." http://www.combatsim.com/category.php?id=8

just to have the 25t and black shark together is worth the "additional" wait time for a10. Having rl strike fighters will add a great deal to black shark gameplay and visa versa.
-
KA's and 25's in perfect harmoney. Can't wait!

Anyone else getting a little bit bored with BS?

Killing falcon probably isn't DCS's intention. Plennnnntlybof room for all sims these days gents. Falcon 's penis is no larger than DCS's. -

Multirole fighters on a 15 year old game shouldn't be compared to a more recent 1 year old helicopter sim. If you're bored of the campaign, might I suggest joining a squad. 159th for example, fighter, strike and attack wing (attack =ka50). Now all will operate under the same umbrella. Talented mission designers and dedicated squad nights. Fly with rl pilots vs ai or opfor. That beats any single player dynamic campaign in my opinion. My advice is join a squad, you'll learn lots and develope a new appreciation. -

With the upcoming FC 2 update less than 2 months away I'm sure that will breath some new life into Black Shark. Real life CAP and CAS aircraft to coordinate with (online) will bring immersion to a new level I feel. Dynamic campaigns are nice, I'm hoping DCS does get to that at some point, but for me playing online in a squad is what makes these sims truely shine. I would love an AWACS view or ATC option...wrong thread to bring that up but it would be cool addition and relatively simple to impliment I feel. -
Lockon has the A10a and dcs is doing the a10C so both technically should be playable assuming dcs carries this duality with FC. Better avionics in the C among other things.
-
That's what I like to hear!
-
There will always be improvements to be made, especially in AI. This will most likely be the last update from lockon, moving forward with dcs. But I looooooove the idea of fighters, mud movers and choppers all in one sim, fidelity aside it will make an a great addition to the lo series sooner rather than later. It will be 2, 3 years before we see integrated dcs modules that offer multiple jets of varying roles inside a combat environment. This will tide me over until dcs hog that's for sure :)

What a bit of information to wake up to!

lol! Wow that's very funny! I asked the downtown Toronto EB games how OFP was selling. He said it was selling VERY well initially, but he's never seen so many game returns in so little time.
-
Best of luck boys! Wow I was once 18 and how fast those 10 years flew by. Be sure to post some vids when you guys get up and running!! <s>

But that's just it, a quick money trip will do SO much more damage in the long run. These type of games have LONG shelf life traditionally, but this one is completely dead now. The community has forsaken it and the developers haven't uttered a word since release really. Crazydog, what mission are you on?
