Just be careful of those bridges...

K thanks, I know the beta is floating around out there, but looking to wait for final release.

Eagle Dynamics Update, september?
element1108 replied to jctrnacty's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Take away weekends, sleep time and DCS Black Shark time and it's pretty much December already ;). It'll be hear any second now and we'll all be foaming at the mouths and screaming like school girls at the plethora of information we're going to get. ;) At least I will be :) hehehe -
Yeah I saw that recently wow, I am surprised. There's a mutiny over on the CM forums with the latest "setbacks" that have come up.

Eagle Dynamics Update, september?

I think last I heard somewhere Christmas time ISH is when we'd start seeing some producer notes and hearing more upgrades. I could be wrong and don't have the thread to back me up, but it was here someplace I read that from a credible source. -
wow outstanding!

I guess it would just use microsoft gamespy servers if you want to fly online? The more I think about the potential of this the more excited I get for it :)
-
Yeah thanks man, really looking forward to checking this out! :)

It's VERY hard in SIM mode with the controller and obviously arcade mode is easy. Just not enough range of motion to be gentle enough on the controls without blowing the angle of attack.
-
wow simply outstanding! The future is bright for Flight sim terrain detail, wow!

Rex 2.0 looks SO cool. When did you get it? Do you have any video's with the terrain texture in use? How does it affect performance?

Codemasters always releases demo's before their games come out, DIRT, DIRT 2, GRIND etc. I don't think they need to sell "modding info" to help promote the game. Mod's are usually a for lack of a better word "Hacks". They'll do what they're going to do, but it's not really up to CM to waste time promoting that. You've got a map builder for the PC version so that will ensure longevity and variety and for the console version CM has promised lots of DLC and continuous support. (We'll see how that pans out). As far is it being like ARMA, it's already different than ARMA is...it's suppose to be a little more balanced.

Depends where you fly I guess, cool clean crisp winter days you can see for 75 km's no problem. But I agree with what you're saying.

I actually got lucky in that mission I randomly turned my my left and saw the two hinds flying by (I was low). I managed to stay behind them and I gunned them WWII style (good old deflection shots). I would have left them alone but I didn't want to chance them spotting me on their way back down the valley. If I hear hinds are in the area I get down REALLY low by some buildings and really keep an eye out. They have a huge advantage with their rotating turret and dedicated gunner. Speaking of WWII keep your head on a constant swivel when you hear enemy air support is present. Your wingman will most likely spot them before you do. Anyway probably didn't help much as I got pretty lucky, but good luck with it! Hopefully 6th 7th time's the charm :)

The sounds alone would make me mess myself You definitely don't get this kind of impact from those A-10 gun range video's.

Rise of Flight formaly known as Knights of the Sky
element1108 replied to EagleEye's topic in Chit-Chat
I really wish the multiplayer was different. ... 7 minute micro games with a lot of waiting if you don't get right in is not enough. I'm sure that'll change with support from the developer but yeah not really loving it all that much. -
AH-64 hasn't ever been done the way DCS will do it you can be sure of it. We're still eagerly awaiting information regarding the A-10 and that's suppose to come at Christmas (information, not the module) so anything after that is totally up in the air as of yet. I'm also pretty certain modules are connected to military contracts? So if DCS gets commissioned to do an Apache Module then that's what the commercial world will most likely see before any Air to Air dedi. As I said, I'm awaiting any and all information on the HOG :)

I'm not a huge fan of rise of flight, I bought it and played it a handful of times, I don't find the terrain detail to be all that revolutionary. I'm not a huge fan of ww1 aviation so that's most likely why I feel that way. I enjoy ground attack and really the a10c as modeled in dcs can't in any way stand up to lock on's a10A. It'll be a whole new experience even though the airframe is identical. For me it's 100% frame rate and weapons and flight model that makes a great sim. Military sims even helicopter ones lack a great amount of graphical detail on the ground. Priorities lie in giving the illusion of flight which requires very high frame rates and flight model detail. Anyway yeah working on your car is a much better use of time vs sitting in front of computer. I just find it a bit strange to give up an experience based on terrain engin. Falcon has used the same engine for over a decade now and I know it's high alt, but there are a lot of mud moving missions in falcon that have you in the dirt. No disrespect intended by this by the way.

You're missing out man, if you don't like Helo's then A-10C will be great! CAS with all the fixens of a high flying fighter jet...+ VERY LARGE GUN :) Fast movers are coming don't worry :)

The good thing about it is there will always be ones who'll take up the attack helo role as well as whatever the transport role is. Giving the attack helicopter pilots a real life pilot to escort sure would add to the immersion. Anyway we have a long way to go before we can start seriously talking about transport helicopters and ultimately it's DCS decision. Just happy to see there are a good number out there who wouldn't mind taking on the role :) That's true they are, but without the full backing of microsoft I find it hard to take all too seriously. I love FSX add on's (although the good ones cost more than most games these days) <-- They're probably the only reason I'm still flying it hehe.

Understandable, but with all due respect logistics is almost as important to combat operations than physical combat itself. I can imagine it'll never be on DCS actual radar (they've got their plate full of requests as it is)...I'm just curious to see who would like to see something like this in the DCS setting. The future as of right now is DCS, major FSX development is now non existant.
