Correct me if I'm wrong, but it would entirely depend on pulling enough G in the turn for the helo not to require lateral cyclic inputs to maintain the roll. Not enough centripetal force and the helicopter will try to right itself because, you know, gravity? The mast is essentially the fulcrum for the suspended helicopter body. If that body is not flung outwards by sufficient centripetal force, it will hang down. That is why the pilot has to pull back on the cyclic to maintain enough G's that the pilot no longer requires lateral cyclic input.

FWIW the VKB Kosmosima grips are RH/LH and will be superior to the T16K for those that really want a LH stick with multiple hats. The T16K only has one 4-way(8-way?) switch.

ED to force a mouse click -> switch /dial useage?

Oh, good point. -
This looks pretty neat, just curious, does it trip the integrity check for MP servers?

Sorry if this sounds pedantic, but every switch has two positions :) I think if there was a standard adopted then you would have to click left to switch it left and right to switch it right. Alternatively, I suppose every 2-position switch could be actuated with either button, and only 3-position switches would require specificity. -
How to display the map on the second monitor?
smallberries replied to spoon95's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
You need to edit viewporthandling.lua, there's a thread in here somewhere.... -
Now that I have finally wrapped my head (I think) around how GUVs work, and which is which, yeah, they're ok :) But honestly, was that armament panel designed to weed out the weak?

How to display the map on the second monitor?
smallberries replied to spoon95's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Well, it's not the same as the F10 map with the moving icons, but I think Will was referring to the fact that if you hit Ctrl-K, it will mark your position on the kneeboard. The kneeboard is easy to place on another monitor without triggering any integrity-check issues if I'm correct, so you wouldn't get realtime location indication, but you could manually mark your location and heading occasionally, as a compromise. -
Since nobody else responded, I noticed today and then read the manual that the UPK cannons only fire burst, is that what you mean? I think the GUVs can fire fully auto though?

Playing the Border campaign mission 2, I noticed when landed and picking up the special forces from the base, collective fully dumped and parking brakes on, that as soon as the troops had boarded I started to get the buffeting and vibration sound that you normally get as you transition out of translational lift. I just thought it was odd to get that sound while not moving, not sure if that's a bug or a feature of being heavily loaded, but I had never noticed it before when loaded and stationary.

I've been playing the Oilfield campaign lately and doing a lot of sling-loading because of it, and last night I thought that, after I had unhooked a slingload and was flying light, I was still getting lurches as if I had a load swinging underneath side to side. Just putting that out there to see if anyone else had experienced a similiar thing, if maybe there was a bug with a phantom slingload after disconnection.

Also, I find the ball will be invisible if you don't turn on the instrument lighting.

pffft, Blackhawks are fine but I need something bigger. A Chinook or Stallion are what DCS desperately needs for blue. The Sea Stallion/Super Stallion would go perfectly with carrier ops.

Just finished mission 9, and at the end the auditor's helo was flying wild circles around the sub-base, looks like it was diving in trying to land and aborting, only to careen around and try again and again. The first time I tried landing it rammed me :( On my second try I snuck in and completed the mission, but it was a really rushed landing because there wasn't much time between the auditor's approaches. P.S. Finished the campaign yesterday, and I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed it, and appreciate the level of detail you put into it. Good stuff!

Yeah, this shouldn't be a big deal (as in it shouldn't be hard to implement). -
Kneeboard only half on screen - MultiMonitor
smallberries replied to CallsignFrosty's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Yeah, I would love an answer to this as well. I thought kneeboard builder allowed you to reposition the kneeboard but I can't see where that option exists. -
I love you.

In the market for a Top end Hotas.

Yeah, the TM grip is quite nice, but the internals pretty much have nothing compared to the VKB or Virpil. Even if you re-grease and sand the plastic, it will never be as smooth or as adjustable as the other two. I kept my grip, mounted it on a VKB gunfighter base, and am very happy. The TM throttle is fine as long as you replace the slew. There is a slew upgrade thread in the forums, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Can't speak to the Virpil or VKB throttles, although I know one of them puts the slew under the thumb on the side which I would find weird. My .02 -

What is your predilection aircraft...? The only one.
smallberries replied to Frag's topic in Chit-Chat
Pretty much everytime I fire up DCS I hop in the Mi-8, or UH-1. Even if I just do some takeoffs and landings, and then spend the rest of the day flying something else. -
Ha, sorry didn't see the thread. Did you happen to give it a new thread? ;) Anyways, just glad it's out. Thanks!
