Now here's a question....anyone know why it's easier to pick up fighters than it is to pick up a tanker?

TrackIR 5 Setup Questions (FNG)
smallberries replied to Phil73805's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That does look like crosswind. You will notice that your heading tape and your WP info are still centered...the Hornet has a cage/uncage function for the HUD which is probably what you need to familiarize yourself with. Try changing your heading and see if the pitch ladder centers. P.S. Woopsy, did I say Hornet? ^^ Not sure if the A-10C has a similiar function or not.....but in any case it's not an issue with your TIR, that's the HUD functioning as intended. -
Yeah, I do hit the burners when I trap. I think this might have to do with the wire now pulling you back depending on how you were lined up. I was getting away with lining up poorly and the wire was still arresting me in a straight line, whereas now if you're not aligned with the runway the wire seems to be pulling unevenly and it's starting to yaw my jet as I trap. I've actually had it turn me sideways. I think that the wire may be getting caught for that reason, but what was interesting is that I drove back to the aft of the ship until the wire was slack, and it still didn't want to unhook. I mean, there's no way that tying a loop around the hook is actually simulated ... o.0?

It appears the release weapons combo keybind isn't working, it's greyed out for me (it's name, not a particular peripheral). You can assign keybinds, but they won't do anything in-game. The RS button works fine, just not the combo keybind.

Most Bang for my Buck ?

I don't think 1070 is enough of an upgrade to be worth it. Save for a more substantial upgrade later. The cpu is more of a real upgrade imo. At that speed the memory isn't future-proof enough to justify the upgrade either, imo. Wait until you can afford to upgrade the whole lot of memory to faster sticks I think. -
I'll offset that -1 with a +2 This one needs to be a top priority

I've been noticing today that I am getting turned sideways on Stennis landings by the wire a bit, which is probably proof of landings that aren't in line, and is really cool. However the wire isn't reliably releasing when I raise the hook. I have even driven back to the back of the ship past the wire strart point and it hasn't released. This, I suspect, is less realistic?

Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the comms menu from coming up automatically on landing or takeoff, or ever, in fact? I hate when I want to check an F2 view or some other F command and comms has popped up on its ownsome.

You mean they're never going to touch the keybind .luas ever again? Hurray!

Is it just me or does the AIM-120 have minimal effect. I keep hitting Mi-27 / SU-25 and they just keep truckin'

Start on a farp and just practice hopping from one pad to another for repeated practice.

Nvidia Slowly Becoming a Monopoly?
smallberries replied to Nooch's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think it is extremely unlikely that Radeon doesn't "want" to compete. Safe to say, they don't have the ability to knock Nvidia off the gold medal tier, but perhaps in time this will change, who knows? -

There's fierce competition in the car world which serves consumers quite well. See how your argument completely misses the point? -
[REPORTED] IFF on a friendly changed to hostile
smallberries replied to backspace340's topic in Bugs and Problems
Erm, I could swear the diamond is the IFF for 'friendly'......your IFF just took some time to distinguish a bogey as a friendly? -
Will VirPil and VKB ever get their together?
smallberries replied to ElCuco68's topic in VIRPIL Controls
WH has nothing on VKB, just saying. I like my WH grip, but as soon as I got my VKB base I chucked the Thrustmaster base and no regrets. -
That would be awesome, but I thought the polling and general vibe was that the next heavy helicopter, meaning still years out, would be a CH-53. Which would also be awesome, ofc. Anyways, even if they started work today, they would be far enough away there's no point in worrying about it.

What a horrible question. It doesn't bare thinking.

How much to get it released next week? Just say the word. -
I wonder if anyone has ever been injured by jettisoned equipment though?

I am excited for this module. Any chance Heatblur will be releasing a text script of all the Jester AI lines so the playerbase could build a library of different Jester voices? -
Just wanted to say that I was dx with a rare, relatively benign cancer about 6 years ago, following a succession of a dozen mini-strokes, give or take. My primary symptom was aphasia, or difficulty with speaking and comprehension. Other challenges involved memory and concentration. My point is, is that over time things have gotten better. Despite the fact that I'm no kid anymore, I have healed and recovered most of my lost faculties. Hang in there, it takes time, but it will come.

+20 There are enough visual limitations in video games compared to real life, we hardly need game developers going out of their way to make use feel more senseless. If they want to be concerned with realism, how about enhancing the graphics and giving us better focus and 200 degrees of peripheral vision. No? Then screw the obfuscating crap.
