  1. Slung some beautiful slingloads in my Hip today.
  2. Lastly, expect some really strong ground effect when you get within a couple of meters of the ground, and you have to maintain some rear/right cyclic, enough that you will touchdown on your right rear wheel first.
  3. Can't wait for mine to arrive! Hot diggity!
  4. What would be even better would be if the devs come up with a protocol for AI that makes them less prone to idiotic and annoying repetition. The kind that would inspire any normal person to reach back and tear their face mask off.
  5. Uh-oh, looks like someone has gone and touched the keybind file in the latest patch? Now some of my keybinds are pointing to entirely different commands, thanks so very much. The decrease turbine rpm keybind remains as it was, but there is no longer an increase turbine rpm keybind. Now the key that was assigned to increase turbine rpm point to left engine temperature test button. Someone has cleverly added the "readjust free turbine RPM switch" keybinds, so it appears there is now duplicate turbine rpm reduction keybinds.... Likewise, I now have Trimmer Reset, and Trimmer - Reset keybinds, neither of which are assigned with the key that I had previously assigned. What I'm saying is that whoever touched the keybinds in the latest update, shouldn't.
  6. Seems to work fine for me both hotstart and coldstart in beta.
  7. This is going to be great!
  8. Will be interested to hear your framerates and how much they improve in DCS at the end of the day. Definitely considering this upgrade, although I will probably be sticking with the old memory @ 3200
  9. I'm going to keep following this thread, until you have the Ironman suit ready for release.
  10. I have the same questions...I did get my RAM to 3200 but not on my first try, and being a noob OC'er faffing about, I have no idea why it worked the 2nd time...but yeah, i'm curious if a 2700x would be a worthy upgrade or not. My 1700x gives me a 3.9 OC.
  11. It's probably about right for deserts, or powder snow, but for grasslands? It's absurd....and it makes me very sad when I try to do my sling loading, which is hard enough :joystick::helpsmilie:
  12. I suspect not all the developers can afford to pay someone like Wags who, by the way, how do I get your job? Yeah, I forget what I was saying....
  13. I'd just like to add that it is sooooo sweet to fly. I have never flown it in MP, but I can't even imagine how an F-15 could get a lock on you when you are busy weaving under all those power lines at supersonic speeds?
  14. Well, a few things come to mind. The Mirage isn't buggy, imo, it's in a fine state to fly. If you aren't sure about the complexity of the Viggen, well, it's not really that complicated compared to the A-10C, the Harrier, or the upcoming F-18, to name a few. Both are great modules, although the Viggen is a bit more niche in terms of what it can do. The F-5 is a great module for learning to manage your energy, and you can basically forget about its radar, it's not useful for much in the way we think of more modern radars. If you were thinking of the L39 or Hawk anyways, the F-5 might be for you... the F-5 is very nice and simple in terms of the systems it has, and can still do an interesting variety of work. Another similiar plane to consider, when it comes out hopefully soon, would be the Aviojet C101 version with the weapons, but it's too early for that yet.
  15. It's a pretty specific and rare problem, but I was just doing the UN campaign mission where you patrol the roads looking for contraband weapons. I had my gunners on Return Fire ROE, and when I came across the convoy that refused to stop, where you had to fire some warning shots, I was unable to fire because my co-pilot was in control of the guns. So as I cycled the ROE to put him on hold fire so I could fire the warning shots, he got the Free Fire ROE and instantly waxed the convoy. Nice shooting, Tex! Anyways, it made me think that it would be nice if either we had a clickable ROE menu instead of having to cycle, or perhaps it would just make sense if we had another means of taking over control of weapons from the co-pilot than cycling ROEs?
  16. I'd prefer to have a button to just silence him.
  17. Yeah, that is common to all modules in DCS. Any time you get a new module, and in any event that an update wipes your control schema, all the axis get bound to all available controllers, as well as the camera controls in the keybinds. A good habit is to backup your input .luas somewhere, and with a new module to clear all the columns before setting up your keybinds.
  18. Well, gee, I guess it needed tweaking, then.
  19. ^ can even takeoff over maximum weight in Nevada. It is a bit scary though. Where is that fire extinguisher again?
  20. Have you tried the windows calibration? I don't know why, I hope it's nothing to do with my pedals physically, as they are only about a year old, but I have had to recalibrate my pedals twice in the last month or so - not sure if something is going on with windows or DCS....anyways check it. Just today one of my pedals (toebrake) was jumping to 50% on before progressing to 100% and a recal fixed it.
  21. I just noticed that with sustained fire, the barrels on the miniguns actually heat and start to get red-hot. Nice detail!
