Yep fan boys gonna fanboy, but they don't change anyone's opinion. If we had at least an airport or 3 added to the southern part of the map at some point within the last 8 months one could say there was at least some progress. 3rd party map developers make ED look quite poor in comparison.

Thanks, this is good to know, because we all paid full price for a map that's about 50% done.

Very disappointed that they released this with so many missing airbases and cities/villages on the map.

Beginner scripting question
Ghostrider142 replied to Ghostrider142's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
Tested it on myself and does not work. I got the script from here https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/DCS_command_setUnlimitedFuel -
Would running the following script based on a flag or zone, and then running the same script but with false instead of true, refuel and set the AI to unlimited and then set it back to full fuel state but not unlimited? If not how should I go about controlling that? SetUnlimitedFuel = { id = 'SetUnlimitedFuel', params = { value = True } }

Thanks!

Is there a mod that improves the shambles of the ATC for airports or the supercarrier?
-
It installed for me after 3 tries, but it won't start and I can't repair it because DCS repair says it can't resolve host name. All this because of a 654kb file.null

Weather mod v17 for DCS
Ghostrider142 replied to bandit648's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hey thanks for the reply, yes, my root folder is still named DCS World OpenBeta and my saved games folder is still named DCS.openbeta and I've always done manual mod installs and have never had an issue, I have over 70 mods currently, this is the only weather mod. After it not working the first couple of tries I carefully placed each file one at a time in its mirrored folder and I've also tried extracting it as a whole and still nothing. Attached images are just a snapshot. It is a simple install, the bazar folder has an effects and a shader folder, the config folder has an effects folder and the mission editor folder has a modules folder - there are sub folders in those of course - and they overwrite 46 files. Anyone have any ideas?- 322 replies

Weather mod v17 for DCS
Ghostrider142 replied to bandit648's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I just installed the mod in the root DCS directory and I don't see any of the 38 presets. I have used the mod in the past and it worked great, just reinstalled after I saw it updated for latest version. I've double checked everything, any ideas? I am using the latest beta and so put it in the DCS World OpenBeta folder, is that the correct location?- 322 replies

It is frankly a terrible implementation and looked far better before this change. I now have to avoid any missions with rain on the carrier or use the outside view to navigate around the deck, can't even see the new plane directors signals clearly and it is not even raining hard.

VSN flyable aircraft mods
Ghostrider142 replied to razo+r's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Thanks, perhaps its because the F-105 might only use the SU cockpit as it doesn't have any .cmd files? -
Where are these .cmd files? They are not in the zip files for the aircraft I downloaded

Quick question that I once knew the answer to: how to change which cockpit a VSN aircraft uses? -
Feedback Thread - Open Beta Update April 10th 2024
Ghostrider142 replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I've suddenly noticed issues with Jester responding to me when I use Qeyeballs or direct head control. Last night I tried for 30 minutes and he responds and finds the target 1 in 5 times. I've also had 2 missions where the circle and dot do not appear and I have to restart mission. This has absolutely never happened before. -

user error Autopilot roll issues
Ghostrider142 replied to Ghostrider142's topic in Bugs and Problems
I figured it out. It was roll not at ATT and by the time I'd get her corrected it had already come out of AP. It was a case of not having flown the Viper in a year. Thanks for the help everyone. -

user error Autopilot roll issues
Ghostrider142 replied to Ghostrider142's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks for the responses, I will fire it up this evening and try again. Like I mentioned I never had an issue when first learning the plane a year ago, but suddenly ran into it the other day doing practice bombing runs. So to hold roll at level I would set AP to Pitch ALT Hold and Roll ATT Hold, correct? -
I fly the Tomcat most of the time and I hadn't flown the F-16 in awhile until tonight, but I ran into a problem that I don't remember having before. The plane will not stop rolling left or right and I cannot focus on any AG workload without constantly trimming or rolling for corrections because AP does not stop the roll. I have watched several videos over the last 4 hours and my AP switches and settings are 100% correct. AP in the F-14 is a breeze and 100% reliable compared to the F-16, which is very surprising. Is it really that unsteady IRL? I find that hard to believe. It's done my head in to the point I'm about to buy the F-15E just to do AG missions in peace. Using an X-56 with zero roll issues in other aircraft. Any outside the box ideas before I give up on this bird?
