Wowser! That - Is pretty much EXACTLY what I was thinking about after someone mentioned using a monitor. That is trully amazing. So my questions are: 1) You can't out put anything like that at the moment from DCS, so by "in house" how did you get MFD output and dials? Or is it re-computed output data (I have forgot the name of the damn data export format!)? 2) Will this software be released? 3) Will it cost? 4) Will it be moddable to work in other DCS titles?

If you don't have a couple of PCs, XBOXs go pretty cheap now and they run Hawx and are lan compatible.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am quite liking that idea, it's a bit more re-usable for something none flightsimmy. Hmmm I would like them seperated out so that requires a monitor around the 24"+ size.

Sorry appears dok rp got there first.

Issue 2: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=935336&postcount=3

Issue 1: Press trim button, keep it held, position stick, release trim, centre stick. You need to keep the trim button pressed while repositioning the stick. I have it setup as an easy to reach bind on my joystick, also make sure that if you have profiling software with your stick that it's registering that the buton is pressed for the entire button press opposed to just registering one press. In other words the joystick keeps pressing T while the button is pressed down and not just pressing and releasing T no matter how long you leave the button down. Second part of that is that you will probably find you want to make sure the new trimmer method is switched off. In other words, under options>gameplay make sure "centre trimmer" is unticked. Oh and welcome to the forums, if all that flight time is true, on that many aircraft your likely to become quite popular around here.

Hello all, I have read a few posts regarding the screens to put behind the Couger MFDs, but no thread dedicated to it. I am thinking of getting some but adding screens would severly add to the geek factor. So I was wondering if anyone had them and what they were using? I notice a few posts mention the Samsung Syncmaster u70, but I was wondering, does it fit (as in there is no screen behind the MFDs) or are there better solutions? The reason for the dedicated post is that with A10 just around the corner I am thinking more people may look at this and a dedicated spot to go to may be helpfull...it's also helpfull to me :D

DTWD's Basic 'Make my god-damn game speak English' MOD
DTWD replied to DTWD's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
The mod does a few more things than just overwriting files, but the bulk is just that. I just wanted an undo-able way, so doing it for ModMan seemed like the ideal solution. -

Use ModMan, it's designed to be installed in ModMan. It will make your life so much easier. -

Mission Editor - How do you get AI jets to attack AI helicopters?
DTWD replied to DTWD's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Typical! Upon simplifying the mission so you didn't have to sit around for 20 minutes for the issue to occur it's solved it. It's late here, so I will try building the mission back up tomorrow (or the weekend) and see if it happens again. It's a bit odd though because all of a suden some ground attack jets have suddenly stopped wanting to attack there targets now, they just turn for home. Must be something I am doing. -
Mission Editor - How do you get AI jets to attack AI helicopters?
DTWD replied to DTWD's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Yes, but because they are flying quite a long way (the jets are supposed to be intercepting them in the mission) I had to draw a massive circle covering the entire journey. Would that cause a problem? -
I am sure I am missing something. What I have setup is a sort of patrol area for some AI jets (mig 29s) but they (litterally) fly straight past the AI helecopters without a care in the world. If I draw a great big attack circle around the area the choppers fly in, they still get ignored. How do you setup a patrol and actually get them to engage enemy AI?

No worries... :) Maybe I should edit the post and make it clearer.

You know there are two mods there don't you? I am pretty sure you want the second one. Scrolly down.

Then you need a different speech mod... ahem http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=55383

Looks good, will download this later.

That looks awesome! 720p is more than enough, 1080p sounds great until you realise how many extra pixels that adds into the mix (render time) and also everything that looked fine at 720p suddenly looks a bit rough at 1080p and you need to tweak everything even more. The engine is making the A10 look really nice.

Although I occasionally do reset the trim I only do it as a last resort when things have gone completely doolally. My advice to you would be: Step One: Make sure your flying at a roughly constant altitude and flight director is not engaged and your using at least 3 autopilot channels (altitude hold isn't required). Step Two: Press and hold the trim button (best to have this in a comfortable and easily accesable place on your joystick), balance the helecopter, use small smooth inputs and don't try and decelerate too quickly. Once you have it in a controlled deceleration and level (horizontally) let go of the trim button and centre the stick. The deceleration will continue and you can go hands off. Step Three: Make small none trimmed or trimmed inputs as required to knaw out your speed to below 10 indicated speed on the hud. Use trimmed inputs if your decelerating to quickly, slow the deceleration down so the closer you get to 0 the slower your decelerating. Step Four: When your below 10 engage autohover and let go of the stick. The helecopter will balance itself out now. When wanting to leave auto hover remember that your last trimmed command was to slow down, so getting out of a completely stationary auto hover will have you going backwards within in a few seconds. So cancel the auto hover, disengage the altitude hold (enabled with auto hover) and put some forward stick in. Now use step two to get your trimming right for forward flight. Keep the trimmer in as long as you require until you have it all ballanced correctly. The biggest trick to learn is the trimmer and to keep it pushed in as long as you need to get it balanced. Once you have learnt to do that it all becomes a lot easier. Also remember that below 10 ft/M the auto hover function does not work and cause you to get into dificulties.

Fixed now, you can download again. -
Yeah I noticed the lack off AA, especially on the tail plane. I saw the sun glare and got all excited :D, oh well, still looks good though.

Q6600 2.4Ghz - 3.2Ghz or higher
DTWD replied to Madman777's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You might be able to go quite a bit higher than 3GHz, however 3 is a nice number to start with. I ran at that for quite a while until someone suggested 3.2 was a better multiplier setting.
