I am not seeing any glare in those images or even remember it being a problem, so could you explain a little more please? More Vikhr's would require model changes as well to do properly.

Go RAM, Cooler, Mobo and possibly a new PSU (depends what you have and how far you can go with it to OC) then OC it. See where you are after that. An 8800GT is not a (major at least) bottle kneck on a CPU optimised game. -

This sounds like classic overscan. Changing drivers can make TVs/Monitors think they have a new connection. Check the following: Nvidia Control Pannel: Display>Change Resolution: Check it's on 1920x1080 or 1080p and set to 60hz. Display>Adjust desktop size and position: Use NVIDIA scaling with fixed-aspect ratio TV/Monitor: Any setting for overscan, it might be called something else.

Oh and just to add, when I am playing BS I can hear the CPU cooler step up the fan speed but the GPU barely get's going, even running loads of AA/AF. -

How very odd, I am running my Q6600 at 3.2 (but only relativly recently) and I am running everything pretty much on max (maybe not water) at 1920x1200 with very little slow down. Occasionally it dips, but it picks itself back up again and it's fine from then on in. Since the patch I now get a dip when I activate the schval, but other than that it's usually fine. It's rarely ever unplayable, during the dips it is a bit difficult to fly but they only last a second or so and they happen rarely. I would get a decent cooler and mobo on that CPU and overclock it. I used to have a 8800 GT which toasted itself and I got a 9800GTX 512 as a warranty replacment, not a great deal of difference between the cards (the 88 and 98 series are effectivly the same card), I don't believe you need to be upgrading that, especially as your short of cash. In the ideal world yes, but CPU will make a biggest difference. -

It's sad isn't it. I would wager that doing that may well have saved lives by lightening the mood and lowering blood pressure/stress. We all have little jokes at work and I can't think of much smaller than this, I mean if they had disabled the safety's on a missle and the pilot accidently fired it fine, get worked up, but writing a joke on a piece of paper I can't personally see where the problem is, it's not like the nav really had a great deal to do anyway :D.

You have lost me, by quality I was reffering to the video on Youtube, which by anyones standard is "bitty". Thus I cannot make an accurate assesment of the quality because of the compression induced "granieness". My very first impression was "is this really set to 720p". :D

It might be the quality of the video, but the overall engine quality looks to be an improvement. It's just conjecture with that quality, but there appears to be some sort of overal glow, some new lighting going on, "HDR"?, runways looks more populated (could just be the from the mission editor), the runway is more detailed and the "grass" makes a big difference. I just hope the draw distance for the grass is enough to make it look good without hitting the performance a massive ammount. Looking good though! Will BS get these engine improvements?

Some people call that dedication :music_whistling: It is the AI in general not just your wingmen, anything below good seems to be next to useless. I had some AI setup to blow the hell out of a few buildings in the middle of a field, the way points took them up to it and told them to attack, they just carried on and ignored it. Turned up the skill level and they took it out in a piece of orchestrated harmony.

Designed to be installed with ModMan (a modifications handler, an absolute must for anyone) ModMan can be found over at http://www.Check-Six.fr or by following this link (link correct at time of writing for 7.3) Hello all, These mods are for people who have upgraded to 1.0.2 but liked the fact that the old game spoke in English and made sense to them. A break down of the mods is below: DTWD's Basic 'Make my god-damn game speak English' MOD - American Accents + Russian Accented Betty ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DOWNLOAD via ED The Mod Changes: - All radio communication to English, unless mentioned below as American accented English (none mission specific) - Pilot to Russian accented English (as in pre 1.0.2) - Betty to Russian accented English (as in pre 1.0.2) - All works regardless of coalition/side DETAILS ---------- Changes the localizer config file to be purely English instead of a mish mash of Russian and English. This has the happy outcome of switching all ground/ATC/Tankers etc to being (American) English instead of Russian. It also changes the pilot voice (when using the radio) to be in Russian accented English. The config modification (sadly) doesn't change Betty into English, so this MOD also replaces all* Betty sound files with the Russian accented versions from pre 1.0.2. So Betty now speaks English, but sounds Russian. * Sadly ED seem to have added some extra sound files since the 1.0.2 patch that refer to "board" and then a number. I have no idea what this board is but the new "betty" would tell you a board number before a particular warning. So for instance in pre 1.0.2 you would get "left engine fire" you now get something like "board 50 left engine fire". I felt this slightly redundant as the pre patch betty never had it, and to be honest I don't care (whatever it is) what board has got an issue with my engine fire, my main concern is the fact I am travely at over 200 kmph at 50ft and my left engine is having a self made bbq. Not only that if I left these new sounds in betty would change voice to one that doesn't sound as good as the original, it would break the imersion and it adds nothing to the experience. So I could just remove the numbers and the "board" sound, or instead (to make sure BS still has a file to play) I could have inserted blank sound files, but in the end I decided to use the "warning" word from another file to replace the numbers and "board". I always felt the fire warning should be precided by the warning anyway, so here it is. If your really desperate for the board information it's still in the sub titles. Afternoon all, I am having a bit of an issue here. I am making a mission and I don't recall having the problem before 1.0.2, but basically I have two Su25Ts and they won't attack ground targets. Can someone with mission editor experience just run through the basics of adding friendly AI aircraft and enemy buildings and getting the friendly AI (but not my wingmen) to blow it up please?,, EDIT - Background: Basically at the moment the SU25s just fly over the target and carry on even though they have express order to blow the hell out of the fuel dump.

Whether the Shkval is good or bad cannot be determined from those videos/pictures. As has already been said, the Shkval feeds the TV screen directly (analogue, not digital, so resolution in the terms you use is not applicable), what you are seeing is a recording that's been recorded again onto VHS and then digitised and then compressed and then posted on a video sharing website where it's most likely been compressed again. That's not counting the fact that the images captured off that video have AGAIN been compressed. Compression on compression, on compression (etc) (in different formats and settings) add artifacts on artificts until you see a complete mess. This is on top of the fact that the different compressions will simplify the picture in different ways until your left with blocks of blurry mess. And don't forget this came off VHS which came off video. We can't comment on the quality of the source by the evidence put forward. * When using the term "compression" I am of course reffering to lossy compression.
