Got mine this past Friday. They look great and fit perfect! Thanks, Deadman. Took about 2 weeks to ship here to Canada, so I'd imagine Germany would be 3-4 weeks... I'm not speaking for Deadman though... Just my opinion. -Mack

hehe, yea I hear ya. 120 GB seems to be the happy-medium for price/performance with SSD's right now. I saw some Vertex 2 120 GB on sale at newegg recently for $180.00, but they sold out quickly. Once SSDs become more common the prices will plummet. It's only a matter of time. The 120 GB drives used to be well north of $400.00 but they can be had for $250 now. That said, it'll be some years before we see affordable 1 TB SSD's. :( -Mack

I agree with Ethereal, the prices on SSDs are still quite high. But just to give you an idea of the performance difference, here's a rather telling screen-shot of some benchmarking I did today. On the left, you see my 2 OCZ Agility 120 GB drives in RAID0. These are relatively old now and performance is even better on newer drives. In some cases double... On the right, is my WD WD10EARS, 1 TB mechanical data drive. The difference is rather staggering, although it's not really a fair fight since the SSDs are running in RAID 0. Still, it should give some of you an idea of how big of a performance difference there is. :) -Mack

[How To] Export ALL Indicators like MFCD via ViewPorts
MackTheKnight replied to icemaker's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
Helios has a GUI/WYSIWYG Editor (What you see is what you get), so it's very easy to setup and configure your panels. I've never used Hawgtouch, so I'm not sure if it's as easy. The last time I saw it you had to set things up via xml files. That may have changed, however. -
[How To] Export ALL Indicators like MFCD via ViewPorts
MackTheKnight replied to icemaker's topic in Multi-Display Bugs
I believe what you're looking for is Helios or HawgTouch. Either one would give you the MFCD buttons, among anything else your heart desires for controls =D Edit: Sniped. :) -
Hi Everyone, ALL ITEMS SOLD I have a bunch of items here up for sale and willing to negotiate within reason. ALL ITEMS SOLD -Mack

Thanks Flim, I actually went and found that on the SC Simulations forums, shortly after reading your post. I don't feel put out and hope my first post didn't come off that way. Glad I could contribute to this amazing project. :) -Mack -
Heart Broken cause of my warthog stick
MackTheKnight replied to bumfire's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
+1 for this. I was having some issues with RSI when I had my old CH gear sitting on my desk. I had no easy way to mount the hotas low and centre. But when I switched to the HOTAS Warthog, I simply placed the stick on my seat between my legs. One tip I'll offer for placing the stick like this, if you find the base plate digs into your legs, just take the 4 screws out of the bottom of the Warthog stick and rotate the plate 90 degrees so it's wider then it is long and put the screws back in. This did the trick for me. :) -

It's free now? Wow, I just bought it a week or so ago... Oh well, it was worth it anyway... -
Just unwrapped my TM Warthog...

Just note that if you have them extended when you try to fire the GAU-8, PAC1 won't engage. Retract your air brakes before firing the GAU-8. This, I learned the hard way.... -
ah, sorry for the double-posting, mate...

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but figured some folks here would be interested... A very scary landing at Rouyn-Noranda, Que airport: Wonder what caused the front gear to malfunction. Major respect to the crew and pilot for getting her down safe and sound. -Mack

How do you start up in the dark if you can't see a dang thing?

I wish I had an answer to this but I think that one is a bug. I'd love to be corrected though! :music_whistling: -

Ground crew will respond if your canopy is still open and engines still off, as if within earshot. -
Sounds good - I may try livening up my top display after-all.
