  1. The P51D will overheat if you leave the oil cooler in auto. You have to manually open it to cool the engine. The auto system either does not fully open the radiator or waits for the engine to be overheating before it does which is to late.
  2. If the A8 gets to run emergency power indefinitely then why shouldn't the P51D be able to? The P51D should be able to run WEP for 5 minutes at a time at least. Cant even do that!
  3. I think the Zero plus Japanese carrier is a must. Would be a missed opportunity to not have these. Carrier vs carrier battles would be a new and exhilarating WW2 experience. Flying over open ocean with only a friendly carrier force to land on. And if you lose all your carriers... you have no where to land.
  4. I would like to see the JU88 because it is very versatile and can be used to level bomb targets. Would be fun to escort players flying JU88s in formation to target, Would like to see an allied equivalent as well; Maybe the A-20 or B-26.
  5. You can have the throttle fully forward with wire broken and not be running at 67". When ever I have used WEP my engine has failed 90% of the time even while keeping temps in the green. As far as I can tell I think its a timer that breaks the engine at a random point in time after using WEP.
  6. Regarding the P51D, as far as I know engine failure after using WEP is random. This includes temps being in the green and running it for less then 5 minutes. After breaking the wire and running 67" for any time period the engine has a random chance of failing. I don't use WEP at all in the P51D because the resulting random engine failure takes me down more often then the threat I am trying to avoid. Though lately I have been getting more and more engine failures from running just 61" with all temps in the green.
  7. The German planes just don't go down without a ridiculous amount of ammunition being shot into them while a single hit on an allied plane kills or wounds the pilot or instantly makes the plane un-flyable.
  8. That does not happen for me unfortunately. Below is what I experience in DCS WW2.
  9. I have noticed planes appearing and disappearing at long distance lately. No idea why. Only happens at long distance while they are small dots. Zooming does not seem to help.
  10. Did not see any planes go down in that video.
  11. The damage model is great if you fly on the German side. Land a single cannon hit on an allied plane and its un-flyable. But on the allies side German planes are airworthy until the engine stops completely. You can empty all your ammunition into them and they just fly back to base no problem.
  12. Planes are typically placed on servers on the ramp with engine off. So thats why I would like a setting for the engine to be pre warmed. If it had to be an option that had the engine running for you on start up for realism sake then I would be fine with it; As long as its a client side option that works on cold start aircraft on servers. The main goal is to have the option to not have to wait 8 or so minutes every time you get a new plane on a server.
  13. No, I would like an option in special for the aircraft to be pre warmed similar to how there are options under the AV-8B harrier and M2000C mirage for the instruments to be pre aligned. This way you can still enjoy starting the plane up without having to sit on the ground doing nothing waiting for the engine to warm up. That way people who prefer to warm the engine up can still have that option as well.
  14. Could we please have a pre warmup setting in the options for the WW2 planes. Similar to the instruments already aligned setting for the jets so we have an option to not sit on the ground for 10 minutes waiting for the engine to warm up every time we get a new plane.
  15. Having to sit on the ground for 10 minutes warming up the engine every flight makes it frustrating. To much time on the ground doing nothing but waiting.
  16. Different HOTAS, stick setups etc are irrelevant. The game has settings to allow you tweak the sensitivity of your control inputs depending on what you use which makes most set ups comparable. Just like you have graphics settings to allow good performance depending on what hardware you are using. But trying to render aircraft in a 3D environment in a realistic way on a 2D monitor or tiny VR screen is not achievable. The resolution limitations and limited screen size don't make it possible. Visibility depends to much on your settings and equipment. Anti aliasing makes things look nicer but blends aircraft in with the environment even more. The higher the resolution the smaller the pixels you are trying to see, lower the resolution the larger the pixels you are trying to see. Lower texture resolution means less detail in the surrounding textures and makes it easier to distinguish the pixels that are representing aircraft. You also have the fact that planes disappear and reappear as you zoom in and out. I don't know about you but I don't find it fun for planes to disappear right in front of me or to know someone is there and close but you can't see them. Planes are easy to spot at long distance but become almost impossible to see once close. We are looking at a limited amount of pixels on a screen just a few feet in front of you. Not even close to reality.
  17. A computer screen is nothing like reality and everyone is using different settings and specifications. You can't mimic reality on a small computer screen with limited resolution. Some people will have an advantage and others a disadvantage simply because of their set up. It should just be even across the board by making aircraft rendered in a distinguishable way regardless of your computer equipment and graphics settings.
  18. The 190A8 seem almost bullet proof at the moment.
  19. It would be nice to be able to see aircraft reliably. I can see single pixel planes at very long distance against white horizon but they disappear at medium distances. Checking six is almost pointless because most of the time I cant see a plane until he is close enough to shoot. Even if I know someone is behind me I can't distinguish him on the monitor. Its really bad. I am not the only one with this issue many people have the same problem.
  20. I just want to be able to carry more bombs. 4 bombs is only one more then the P47D. The P47D can carry two 500lb bombs + one 250lb bomb + 10 rockets. Can the mosquito carry much more then that?
  21. Man, I didn't know the 20mm cannons took up space in the bomb bay. I kind of wish we were getting the bomber variant now. :(
  22. Anyone know what kind of bomb loadouts the DH.98 Mosquito FB Mk VI could carry?
  23. Yeah, we badly need a map that matches the planes we have. Late 1944/early 1945 map please!
  24. Multicrew would be nice but I don't care if it doesn't have it. Even with multiple crew available I think most people will be flying thier own plane most of the time. I don't think there would be much for the second person to do anyway. Would still be fun though.
  25. The 109K4 is hands down better. It turns way better, climbs better, accelerates better, manuevers at slow speeds way better. For dogfighting the 109K4 is better by far. The FW190D9 is easier to control at high speed, carries more ammo, has more cannons and can fly for longer before needing to refuel.
