Serial number has 931 or higher but even this may not fully mean you have the latest. My first one had dead pixels.
-
Yea I would like to wear mine higher too but everytime I loosen the straps to adjust it, I end up screwing it up.
-
Yea either a bit higher or tighter on the face. I'm not sure exactly how you position it so that it sits up higher on your head. For me I just let it sit where it is and tighten the straps. It's not the most intuitive system.
-
Yup I forgot to mention, if your system can handle it of course. If you also play a lot of other controller based vr games the software package with Oculus is also much easier to use than wmr. I was first cautious about the performance of the reverb on my system but after I got it and realized I can run it, I'm happy with it.
-
Really depends what you need it for. I only fly with it and I don't really play any other vr games so for me it's great. When I had the cv1 I did play other vr titles but I found myself not playing those other titles too long anyway.

I do know that the viper MFD's in the Odyssey were not so readable and look pretty bad. With the reverb they are more visible and clear and zooming in is required obviously for extra small details in most of the screens. But I can see them better just leaning back in my seat than when I was not using the Reverb. I do agree they should modified to be more legible.

The sweetspot for the reverb on your face requires that it sits a bit higher or a hit tighter on your face. Try adjusting the straps while looking at something in the cliff house until you see clearly. If you tried all this and still see double then I'm not sure, sounds like an issue. I don't see how the lenses could be misaligned unless the headset was put together wrong.

Maybe your processor is holding you back a bit I use an 8700k 1080ti and 32 gb of ram. Also make sure you are using wmr for steam vr (beta version so that you don't need to move the steam SS slider to 150% ). Beta version of the wmr for steam vr sets the right resolution for you at 100%. Then you should keep DCS pixel density at 1.0. Coming from the original Odyssey it's weird I didn't experience any of what you described. I also run mostly high settings in DCS too.

In terms of clarity and reading gauges yes it is.
-
I do the same. Eventually the reverb heats up pretty quickly and the fogging stops.
-
I've read that you shouldn't use any soap or additives/chemicals on these lenses as it can damage them. Just soft microfiber cloth and maybe water to dampen the cloth and clean the lenses.

My Odyssey would fog up until I got the prescription lense snap on lenses. It just took long to warm up. The reverb also fogs up pretty quickly. But it also warms up much faster. If you want you can just activate windows mixed reality portal and let it sit there a few minutes to warm the lenses up. I plan on getting the snap on lenses for the reverb too. Because I have to keep my contacts in otherwise and after a long day of programming at work it's tough to keep contacts in your eyes without drying up.
-
You need windows mixed reality for steam vr beta version if you want to get the right steam SS.
-
The thing is I don't think the reverb was going to do anything for the outside of the cockpit. Yes for me it's clearer than Odyssey looking outside, but im not sure what you are expecting in those terms. They are definitely clearer at least for me when I look at the world around. But I also have the preload radius already maxed out in options.

I'm using stand alone DCS. When you say it's not a change from cv1 that is very surprising. I had a cv1 then an Odyssey and now a reverb. The difference is clear to me. Do you wear contacts or glasses? Because if you do, make sure to wear them in the Reverb too.
-
Steam vr beta is not required. Just windows for mixed reality for steam vr beta.
-
I have to agree that extra steam SS is a performance killer especially in DCS where things are not so we'll optimized for VR. I would be curious to see what happens when DCS implements native wmr support for these headsets so that you don't need to have steam launch with it. Would they handle the SS through steam behind the scenes? Effectively changing the resolution percentage would not be a thing anymore?
-
Mine has revision A on the box. The only way you can tell is if your serial number has 932 or later in the numbers. At least the US ones all have Rev A on the box and include a clip too.
-
If you're using steam vr for wmr beta you should not need to go past 100%. I'm on that beta and at 100% the resolution is very close to the reverb native resolution. Of course if you are not on the beta, this resolution will be lower at 100% and you will have to increase that slider. I did this multiple times going back and forth between the beta and stable and noticed the changes taking effect.
-
Most people here just use the steam vr for windows MR app that's downloadable from within steam, set it to beta mode and run it with steam SS at 100%. Not anything above that, and then inside DCS set the pixel density to 1.0. With these options you may even be able to add some msaa. This is how I run mine and I use mostly high settings in the DCS graphics options tab.

It's very possible that the cable itself could be bad if you are indeed getting enough power.
-
You need better lighting in the room and not have so many reflective objects around you as that messes up the tracking for wmr headsets.
-
I think that 63.3 is the default when I hooked mine up. I set mine to 62 since I used an app on my girlfriend's iPhone that measured my ipd. It was between 61.5 and 62.5.
-
I thought that the 1903 update eventually fixed the blurriness. I don't remember what it was on 1809 because I had the Odyssey at that point.
-
Hmm ok yea mines like 63.4 in DCS but I never messed with it because I have no idea what it should be and I don't have the patience to mess much with it.
