Yea I did not since it was a fresh boot of the PC. Not like it had been on for hours or so. Just very strange.

Anyone elses reverb just lag really badly in the cliffhouse? No changes to my setup or hardware, it was fine months ago. Not sure what happened as I have not put it on in 2 + months now. But it seems like I need to restart my PC to smooth it out. I've also noticed the screen flash to black and back a few times. Don't even want to try get into DCS if it's lagging like this outside of any apps. Absolutely no clue what has changed.

I heard that it's with ED now for testing.

Huh that's nowhere near fall timeframe. If that's true I would preorder since I'm not moving until the fall.

Totally agree, it's why we pay for prime or whatever it is now close to $120 a year. Amazon has always let me return things no problem. Bought a projector, close to over 1k, had some issues with the software where it wasn't doing what it needed to do. Amazon didn't bat an eye and let me return it/exchange it. They do flag your account if you return several expensive items too frequently or so I have heard. Knowing my luck with ordering new toys, I always end up getting the first one with some type of issue. It has never just been easy on any big purchase in my experience..I just have bad luck I suppose. I'm going to wait until HP has them in stock directly and order from there. Seeing the trouble I had with HP customer service with the G1, I don't want to deal with Connection as a first point of contact.

Looks like the US order site - connection will most likely be troublesome too. Not sure why HP would use them for something like this. Seems like returns or exchanges would be a hassle. I'm going to wait until I can just order directly from HP. Any warranty though, your g2 would go to go back to hp and not the reseller since HP is the manufacturer. Also the US preorder site is a third party too and not HP directly. So I'm not sure if this is the same thing as the German site.

I also use a reverb with 1080ti and usually only do single player. No stutter or issues here. Mostly high/medium settings with 100% steam SS and Pd 1.0. Pretty sure I have shadows set to low.

I have the same card and use pd 1.0 with steam at 100% with mostly high settings except a few and I don't have any issues with the Reverb. I only play single player though and if I don't see any stutters or hiccups (or slow head turning) it's fine for me, I'm not counting frames at all though.

Trust me the longer I stay reading in this thread the sooner I am to preordering one for myself as well. When I told myself I shouldn't because I have two headsets I will need to get rid of. The original Odyssey I may as well throw away since it's so old.

I'm in the US and ordered the first reverb using PayPal. Of course I have my bank account and also PayPal credit linked there. I had to send the original reverb back to hp and order a second one. I didn't have any issues aside from the customer service person on HP's end not being able to look up my HMD in their system because their support tiers are strange.

Yes they do charge you when you place the order from what I heard. But I heard it is an authorization charge that falls off later. So I would not use a bank card.

If it's not related to tracking then it could be your graphics settings if they are too high or what steam sampling percentage you have set along with the pixel density in DCS. One thing you can try if you think it's tracking related, you could set the reverb to use roomscale tracking vs seated.

Heck I should preorder. I just asked the voodomax guy on Reddit if he has an idea of when the official units would ship. That MRTV guy is getting his preview unit soon so he will have a review up, according to the HP Reverb Reddit section. If it's out in September it means I'll still be at my current address. If it's out later than that I can't really preorder because who knows where I'll end up address wise.

Didn't someone say the US would get it in November? Strange that EU would have it released first. If it's September I may as well preorder because I'm not changing addresses until possiblity November.

Hopefully you are correct. Just looking at the past products, it seems unlikely that Nvidia would put out a cheaper price. Seeing how every year since the 1080ti the prices have gone up and performance hasn't been equal in ratio.

Unfortunately the 3080 fan shrouds I heard, cost $150 to make so I don't think it will be a cheap card.

I guess but I've seen plenty of people with 2080ti's making a fuss that it's not enough for VR and that you are still not getting a high fps. I run a 1080ti myself and if it's not too crazy of a mission, I find the reverb g1 to do fine. DCS VR is gonna be one of those where you can throw as much hardware at it as you can and it won't matter because it's not really coded to be optimized for VR the best it could be.

You would need a Ti version of the 3080 for best results. Problem is trying to buy one when they release. It probably makes sense to get the G2 first and then the GPU later. You will be waiting a while for the GPU because they are always hard to get when they launch.

Looks good but I don't really see much of a difference I guess comparing to the G1. I can sort of tell the sweet spot is better which is already an improvement of course.

Yea I need to figure out the AG and waypoints. Landing on the boat I think I'm alright on. The aar will definitely need to practice. I'll probably need to recalibrate my mcg grip too since it's been a while. Although I did hear the aar in some areas is optional.

I'm eagerly waiting the raven one campaign but I've been going through enemy with in 3.0 so I need to relearn the hornet. Specifically since it's been forever since I've flown it when it came out. What is everyone going through to prepare for the campaign or I guess what are the most used functionalities I should focus on?

This time it's attached to the headset. Without the need to have a connection in the middle. So they got rid of that clip that is supposed to hold the G1 cable together, which was causing issues before.

I want to order one too but I think I want to try and grab a 3080Ti in September first. I think I can deal with the reverb for a while until I update my card. Love my 1080ti, it's served me well for everything for quite a while now.

I don't use pointcntrl so I'm not sure why the cliff house was laggy. I was just using the reverb controller to launch my desktop in VR. I'll have to test it again today and see if it is still the same. It may have been a one off thing for me because I had noticed I rebooted the PC and the wmr portal had come up as part of the of the reboot. Normally it doesn't come up when I restart.
