  1. unless you pull quite high AoA ( which i don t think you can with only 1 elevator left ), the F-18 is still stable, that means the center of lift/drag is behind the center of mass, so the elevator Always need to build some downforce to keep the nose up. if you pull the stick, the elevator will build more downforce ==> roll to the left, if you pusch it it will build upforce ==> roll to the right if the FCS would actually play its role, the plane would not be rolling to the left, or to the right at all when pulling/pusching the stick ==> the pilot would not notice the loss of the elevator ( if that story is truly true, and if the F-18 FCS actively try to keep the plane at 0°/s in roll even when building Gs with assymetric load for eg ) if the F-18 FCS works the way you describe NineLine, that means ED forgot a few thing in the way they modeled the FCS
  2. was is the target aspect, what is its speed, is it lower than you, are you very low ? all of that is to be atken into consideration when you try to pick a target up with your radar
  3. as i said, you can pull the data yourself : AIM-120B PN_coeffs = {3, -- Number of Entries 5000.0 ,1.0, -- Less 5 km to target Pn = 1 10000.0, 0.5, -- Between 10 and 5 km to target, Pn smoothly changes from 0.5 to 1.0. 15000.0, 0.2}; -- Between 15 and 10 km to target, Pn smoothly changes from 0.2 to 0.5. Longer then 15 km Pn = 0.2. AIM-120C PN_coeffs = {3, -- Number of Entries 5000.0 ,1.0, -- Less 5 km to target Pn = 1 10000.0, 0.5, -- Between 10 and 5 km to target, Pn smoothly changes from 0.5 to 1.0. 15000.0, 0.2}; -- Between 15 and 10 km to target, Pn smoothly changes from 0.2 to 0.5. Longer then 15 km Pn = 0.2.

    Mirage F1

the Iraqi F1E(Q-5/6 late 80s ) would have been very interesting indeed, being among the most capable F1 ever produced. they had avionnic quite similar to the brand new mirage 2000, they were able to carry : targeting pods Elint pods ECM pods Counter measure pods Buddy to buddy refueling pod they could fire : Magic 1 ( with crappy IR fuse triggered by running target's AB 40m before hit ) Super-530F ( which the Spanish one can't fire) AS-30L ( laser guided missile, somewhere between kh-25ml and kh-49L ) Exocet BGL ( laser guided bombed, GBU-12 like ) Bazar missile ( slightly supersonnic 100% French Martel inspired export big SEAD missile with 50+km range and which provides even less information on which target it is locked onto than the AGM-122 ) here in action ( AS-30L over Iran and BGL over training range ) sadly, there is very little info on how the actual systems work….
  5. the attached file show some weapon data ( drag, lift coef, and proportionnal nav data ) for AIM-7, AIM-120/B/C, R-77, MICA, R-73, Super-530D presented for easy comparison weapon data.txt You can see wide différences between the old missiles ( Sea sparrow, MICA ), and the new one ( all the other ). Surprisingly, the AIM-7 coef are extremely different from the AIM-120, R-77 and Super-530 ones. you can find the weapon data file in XXXX\DCSWorld\Scripts\Database\Weapons it can't be read with Microsoft Notepad, the file is way too messy. You will need to use/download a C+ reader/editor ( a lot of free one can be found on the net ) you will be able to read the datas about missiles, the one showed in Encyclopedia, the numerous coef used to model the proximity fuse, the IR sensor, the proportionnal navigation, the FM, and the launch parameters. the lines were commented in Russian, so the comment were unreadable for me ( ééé^ùùùfgtèèèèààààà ) i found the readable comment in Russian in Cubanace mod file ( Su-57 weapon pack ) and translated them with google translator at the end of the attached file, i have copied past the result of the translation ( can be used as model to read the original files ) my own comments are Inside ( ) or inside //( ) PS: the attached file is not attached… hum PPS : fixed
  6. Are you talking about Quick Instant Mission ? Then you can fix it yourse'f with the mission editor DCS version ? Map ?
  7. and yes the airframe may get damaged , and see its service life time severely reduced in some case, the plane would not be allowed to fly again has there been any account of wings snapping off due to - controlled - Over-G ?
  8. read that : https://stormbirds.blog/2018/01/31/what-to-do-if-your-dcs-world-2-5-doesnt-look-right/ you should buy a SSD to replace your HDD, even a "old" ( and cheap ) SATA SSD would help a lot about loading time and stutter/freezes having pagefiles on SSD instead of HDD is a great improvement too, if you don t have more than 16G of RAM

    Mirage F1

the Spanish F1s are not able to fire Super-530F, and so are much less able on interceptor duty
  10. AG and A-A may be both possible with the IIIE, but it would be a long cruise, followed by "hello, Good-Bye" because loiter time / time on mil power/AB would be very short one of the reasons i don t have much interest in this map ( which is only good for Harrier / Fictive more modern war ) any AI flight from Argentina which is intercepted or fired upon would be doomed because it would use AB ( not even talking about stupid AI unable to stay in close formation even in peace-time cruise ==> use AB way too often to rejoin )
  11. it seems that the Mirage IIIE carry sligthly less fuel than the mirage 5 ( from which the dagger are copies ) if they are on the same configuration range difference may be caused by the fact any AG load on the Dagger is ( much ) heavier/draggier than the standart A-A load of a IIIE
  12. in the (French ) Mirage III E manual shared there by al531246, 2 different kind of RWR are described on pages PL-39 and PL-54 of "Manuel d'utilisation Mirage III E", PL-54 is from 1969 so, is the EA a downgrade ? ( on pictures of III E, there are antennas similar to F1's RWR antenna that are not on picture of III EA ) PS : does anybody know what is the little thing hunging on the left side of the EA cockpit next to the HUD ? ( EA cockpit picture posted page 5 of this topic by Jojo )
  13. have you tried replacing the "1000" ( meters ? ) in this line with a "333" ( meters ==> 1000 feets ?) : Altimeter_FinePtr.input = {0.0, 1000.0}
  14. Mirage III, hoping to get a E version Please RAZBAM, if you ever make a IIIE, don t do an export version if it is a downgrade ( in carried weaponery or sensors ) from the original one, like Aviodev plans to do with Spanish F1
  15. right, Jet fuel doesn t burn easily, unless you spill it a French Mirage III have had to drop its 2 1700L fuel tanks on take off because its left tire exploded. the Fuel tanks did burn ( lightened by the 160ish knots friction ? or the plane's AB plume ? ) the story ( in French ) : http://aviateurs.e-monsite.com/pages/1946-et-annees-suivantes/petites-causes-grands-effets.html
  16. the FCS ( Flight Contol System ? ) is what is between your stick input and the control surfaces output, it is what limits the number of available G for exemple =/= the Flight Model is what is between your control surface output and the way the plane behaves it seems that the new FCS does not allow you to be drawn into a situation where the Falling Leaf syndrom appears ( the FCS won t allow enough AoA for ex )
  17. to fire with the gun, you need to : - be in a combat mode, either you press 2 for BVR, 3 for vertical scan, 4 for bore, 5 for HMD, 6 for IR missiles sensor, 7 for AG or 8 for HUD Failure gunsight - press C to select gun - you may radar/IR lock your target or use the snake/emergency gunsight - press the trigger read the manual, do the training missions pour tirer au canon : - il faut selectionner un mode darmement , 2 pour BVR , 3 pour scan vertical…
  18. the "issue" with the mig-21 has nothing to do with throttle management, but lack of G ( positive or negative ) the engine will stop if the plane wistand 0 G for too long, so you have to either only pitch down to 0.5G, or pitch down hard enough to get -0.5G in negative G, the engine is only limited by the low amount of fuel which is available in negative G ( arround 6 sec in full burner, compared to arround 15 sec in M2K-C )
  19. not that similar, except in their flaws. the photography ( and music ) is amazing, there are some good jokes ( in French at least ) but the dogfights don t make sense, moreover they are too often speed up and it looks like a HAWK gameplay.
  20. DCS may perform slightly better because the 8700K runs at higher Hz ( if you OC, the difference will not be noticeable ) but the extra cores that the 8700K brings will be useless for DCS so if you don t plan to use heavy multi core apps, and want to save a few hundred $, stay with the 8600K.
  21. load bombs on other FC3 planes, do a 9G+ turn.
  22. 2 whole issues, right. the first which affects every modules in DCS. the second which affect all the FC-3 modules. i really don t understand why almost everybody here keep blaming the F-15, and only the F15
  23. So, what are those four additionnal aircrafts in the FC-4 pack ? they are already existing modules made by ED, no 3rd party modules, but let's add the Belsimtek ones. - the A-10C ? it makes sense, even if it is the one module which launched the DCS standart, even if a lot of its weapons REQUIRE extremely complex management. - the WW2 planes ? it was said no. - the trainers ? it would not make sense. - the Ka-50 ? if you press auto-start and don t use the Advanced attack/navigation system, it is already a system wise newbie friendly module. i have a T16000M stick and a TWCS throttle and i use fewer controls for the ka-50 than for the current FC3 aircraft. But unless you destroy its PFM it won't be newbie friendly at all, it is still an helicopter, it needs constant trimming and expensive hardware to fly it correctly. it would be a terrible idea. - the F-5E ? The only point of this module is to "play" with the old systems. - the f86 and the mig-15 ? Why not ? Because the auto-start already remove 80% of their complexity, because there is no ANY KIND of Korean war assets. - the Huey and the mi-8? those are helicopters aren't they ? see ka-50.
  24. not losing payload at high G is more a whole FC3 related issue, it isn t specific to the F-15.
  25. the in development Flaming Cliffs 4 4 planes pack will consists of FC3 level existing modules. NineLive's comment : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=207312&page=13
