  1. 3500lbs of fuel ? So wheels up and bingo ?
  2. The AA-9/ R-33 would start a long range shot on inertial mode, because the SARH seeker wouldn’t be able to acquire lock on long range. So I wouldn’t be so sure that the firing is already done in STT. The STT may be performed at a later stage of missile flight time.
  3. Good for them. MP with buddy or solo I get so many fakes contacts that I loose the targets, and there are only 2 of them without jammers. I try to support the AIM-54 during the crank, like I should. The STT is sub-par too. Loosing lock way too easily on contacts cranking above horizon (not even beaming) with nose camera still tracking (inside of 20Nm). I also had issues with AIM-120C (shot with Hornet). I watched it heading for the kill then pull hard Gs to avoid the target and miss just in front of it. Maybe that AMRAAM wasn’t decided to die yet :D
  4. I just tried again, fake contacts are so bad that TWS is unusable for me with Jester. :( I hope it will be corrected on next update. Until then back to the hangar.
  5. Tanks, I missed the following discussion after first page :D TWS bug then
  6. Sorry for the resolution, these are video screen shots, video is 1080p and the FoV is wide. I’m not 100% sure what it is. And this isn’t online, this is single player. So here it is, I have weird stuff on the screen. And these MiG-29A don’t even have jammer. Strings of ghost contacts, fake contacts going left and right at high speed...
  7. Thanks for you return. To ease the workflow, I mapped some Jester keyboard shortcut on the HOTAS, like "lock contact", "break lock" "go RWS" or "go TWS". Since the opening post, instead of "lock enemy" which was too complicated in dynamic environment I changed for "lock contact". Fo other things I use the wheel. I would need to try Vaicom Pro, but I'm not native English speaker, I'm afraid to struggle with voice commands too. :joystick:
  8. Yes, that's in VR so it will be a little bit difficult to see...working on it. I did check with TacView replay. Edit: well, the video is jumpy, I'm constantly moving the head. But look at the screenshot. I'm flying North, 2 MiG-29 going south and defensive after AIM-54 launch. Out of nowhere, a trail of contacts appears with velocity vectors to the North. On the second picture, I replayed the same mission, the MiG-29 are defending East, but the radar is interested in contacts going full speed West, I have no idea what it can be. On this position on TacView no chaff, no SAM...nothing:huh: SINGLE PLAYER MISSION. So no lag
  9. Thanks, yes that's what I'm doing for a few days now. Still some weird things, like chaffs effect on TWS AUTO, but that's another story :music_whistling: And the Jester wheel menu is really finicky to use in VR :(
  10. Maybe jammers have minimal impact on AWG-9, but chaffs are flooding my TID screen and make TWS go crazy ! Phoenix too by the way !
  11. I agree, but there is room for improvement with Jester or the menu usage. That menu offsetting from center makes me mad in VR.
  12. I'm trying to learn to deal with Jester, but so far he is increasing my work load which is the opposite of the purpose of a RIO. I have to figure out why he wouldn't lock a STT lock tracked in TWS (with command "lock contact ahead", no mention of enemy or friendly). I have to ask him to break lock after he lost it to be able to use VSL in dogfight. I am struggling with Jester wheel menu too, but maybe because of my HOTAS or VR, I don't know. Often the menu will close instead of performing the request. I have to repeat 2 or 3 times even if the command I want is highlighted. If the Jester menu close while you are looking down, the default menu position is offset. This is a bad feature because my head has tilt limits IRL :( These makes me fight the module instead of enemies... Not that intuitive.
  13. I got in situation where I couldn’t engage PAL/ VSL modes. In fact it was after lost contact. After I ordered to Jester to break lock, I regained control over PAL/ VSL modes. I hope it can help.:smilewink:
  14. Ok, I was wrong, the standard on Windows system isn’t 2.0, it’s 2.2 :D Guys, turn off mods, reset screen setting, DCS settings, Windows settings and then tweak from there. Mirage cockpit is fine for most people, you can’t expect the cockpit to be adjusted for gamma like 1.0. https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/how-to-calibrate-your-monitor/ https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/-glossary-gamma-definition,5884.html Too washed out ? Don’t fly at noon in summer time. It’s the worst time for photography colours IRL too.

    2000B and 2000D

I don't think it's still in use, but yes, it was used in combat by Mirage 2000D.
  16. If you take off light with after burner why not. But IRL F-14B didn't take off with AB because in case of engine failure during take off it would be impossible to counter the asymmetric thrust. Also the deck is crowded IRL, you can't do that. Catapult is the most efficient way...
  17. I agree, but it isn't worst than DCS Hornet with 10 AIM-120.:music_whistling:

    2000B and 2000D

No Exocet for French Air Force, AM39 is only used by French Navy. ARMAT never made it to Mirage 2000D, Mirage IIIE, Jaguar A and Atlantic only. In French service it was AS-37 Martel. ARMAT is for export. AM39 Exocet on Atlantique 2, Super Etendard (Modernisé or not) and Rafale M. I guess nothing would prevent from loading AM39 on FAF Rafale since it's the same weapon system. But FAF isn't training for that.
  19. Thanks guys. I started my training with 50% internal fuel and empty external tanks =8228lbs. The S-3B is full = 17288lbs I was surprised by the disconnection, but it was S-3B retracting the hose because of bingo.:D I got to about 18200bs, so slightly above 10 000lbs of fuel delivered. I was thrown off a little bit by the turn, but I managed to stay connected. Fun exercise to practice handling. Still room for improvement, especially to do it relaxed :D Seat in the lowest position.
  20. Then maybe reshade is doing you bad trick.
  21. I didn’t read the manual carefully enough  I thought it would just cut off external tanks in first position. Thanks, now it makes sense.
  22. I know about the switch, I didn’t thought about it since the full internal fuel is 16 200lbs. Thanks for the tip, I will try. Yes, we have less room to move around with shorter hose on S-3B, but that’s good training. After that KC-130 is piece of cake  But overall, I’m happy now of my tanker picture with wings in “bomb” mode and seat lowered, the pitch attitude gives me good enough visibility.
  23. You're right off course :D Otherwise, does anybody knows about refueling limit with S-3B ?
  24. Yes for carrier ATC, your call sign in the lading pattern will be your side number. During the mission you will use tactical call sign. Case 1 pattern Case 3 pattern
  25. Well, DCE mission are generated automatically. It can't fine tuned as much as totally scripted campaign where the designer can go in much finer details. By the way, DCE engine, or HARM effectiveness have nothing to do with HB or Tomcat :smilewink:
