Old video, but still cool to watch

Landing is super easy. Landing AoA is 14°. You just have to select APP mode on PCA and you will get AoA bracket in the HUD. Put the velocity vector in the middle. You also have chevron to tell you if you are accelerating, slowing down or stable. No air brakes on final, with this AoA, the wing is your air brake. >] -O- [< When you select APP mode don't forget to rise the seat to have proper field of view for lading. Auto pilot is also super convenient to trim the aircraft, and it's standard procedure on this bird. You can activate AP and turn/ climb through trim command on the stick. You can take control to make change manually with AP SBY then release it. It's a bit late, I'll try to make a video tomorrow :smilewink:
-
Yes, this is just that the new repeater isn't compatible with the old UHF radio. But it's still in use and working.
-
Trop what you say, the PCA top line is in AA gun mode. This override any other mode. I don't know why you would be in AA gun mode in AG tutorial, but you must do CNM Neutral before returning to AG :smilewink: [Edit] didn't saw Steph21 answer before posting :D

Send them your piece of code or show your demo, maybe they will hire you :smilewink:
-
Silly remark but who knows ? - set PPA any time you want, no factor (NB at least 1 and fuze) - select BF on PCA - select options (ranging) on top line. Primary mode is TAS (radar ranging with RDI). Then 2 options: - return to NAV with Weapon SystemCMD AFT. - go into attack mode with Weapon SystemCMD FWD. - Master arm on.
-
To be able to play a naval war between 25 de Mayo with SUE and Skyhawk Vs British Task group would be a wet dream :D And we already have KC-130 to refuel SUE and Skyhawk :smartass:

Strike Eagle and Hornet were both McDonnell Douglas, there has been cross over about weapon systems and radar modes between the two, and I don't think a 1991 Strike Eagle is more advanced than a 2005 Hornet. Your smoke system seems mostly optimised for ground battle and sub-optimal for attacks from above. And yes, I know about that kind of stuff.

After the last open beta patch on April 16th the PCA and HOTAS commands seem to work just fine. AG weapons and 530 are selected on PCA. AG gun has a dedicated button labelled CAS (Canon Air Sol). Air to air gun (CAN) and Magic 2 (MAG) are selected through HOTAS commands to fight (CNM). CAN & MAG override current weapon selected. CNM Neutral does return to previous weapon selected. When you select AG weapon, including CAS (AG gun), your HUD stay in current mode, your PPA top line allows you to select options, then: - you must go into attack mode with Weapon SystemCMD FWD. - you return to previous mode (most likely NAV) with Weapon SystemCMD AFT. The AG weapon stay selected, and you can go directly into attack mode with Weapon SystemCMD FWD any time as long as AG weapon is selected on PCA. So Weapon SystemCMD and CNM are very handy to have on HOTAS. If you take off for AG mission, AG weapon, fuel tank and Magic, you can prepare PPA and PCA before take off. Once in target area you just have to go into attack mode and flip on master arm. If you came across any AA threat, you use CNM to go into MAG or CAS, then return to NAV or AG with CNM Neutral. While you are in CAN or MAG, Weapon SystemCMD will activate AA close combat radar mode that would lock targets out to 10Nm.

Please calm down. Yes, core DCS World is constantly evolving. So do the modules. If you have a problem or something you don’t understand, you can come here and as you see, you will find people up to date who can help you. :smilewink:

Some bugs have been fixed. The radar elevation control is still bugged, but vertical scan is effective again, even if I can’t be sure about the exact angles* AG HOTAS is fixed and work reliably again without involving AA radar. I tried with BL, BF, GBU-12, AG gun. People put too much emphasis on IP bombing. Direct CCPL have a CEP around 20-30m. With IP CCPL you would have a CEP around 100m and more. This is back up mode for direct CCPL or stand off attack on large targets but without too much expectation about accuracy. Speaking about Cold War, Mirage 2000C pilots would merely train for AG. :music_whistling: * [edit] after test, it seems that in vertical scan the antenna elevation bug on VTB is scanning between -10° and +50° which is good news
-
I’m sure you did the same, but since Lock On, with A-10A, A-10C, MiG-29 and Su-27 and stuff like that, bombs were dead on accurate in CCIP. So no, the bombs didn’t became accurate because of external changes.
-
Actually, I think a while ago, people were complaining it wasn’t accurate enough. Now some of the same people are complaining it’s too accurate :megalol: I don’t know how good it is IRL, but given the lack of effectiveness of bombs in DCS, I would say that too accurate is a blessing :D
-
There is no question. F-16 and M-2000C can get wings ripped off. I have seen HUD footage with 25G. I got wings ripped off 600m behind MiG-29. This is way overdone and doing more bad than good.

I prefer to wait than to deal with bugs

It has been discussed here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=202523 It seems that it does have SAR.

DCS isn't just about today with the latest toys. Warning SAM's isn't such a problem with SEAD support. Radar targeting was used by F-15E during Desert Storm at least, who knows since then ? Please show me a MBT disrupting laser guided weapons... So far it doesn't seem widely fielded.
-
This is wrong, Zeus67 had to take over M-2000C code since Elwood who was hired to do that isn't available for a while. So they are finishing code on released module, not coding new ones. The 3D/ textures guys are doing and showing what they do. They are not coders. It's the same for every body. Yes. It's not going as fast as we would like, but complaining because 3D or graphics are being upgraded faster than the code is irrelevant, it isn't the same pipeline.
-
So what is the difference between the default DO and the DO with RDO selected on PCA ?
-
Up, now there is a Silkworm radar :smilewink:
-
I don't understand. Don't you need to select RDO on PCA to activate it ?
-
No, HOTAS was only missing the TWS/ STT toggle button. It was known since it was described in the manual even before AdA contract. Magic 2 is getting new modes (search patterns and MAV mode), but this is a good news, and it was impossible to know without AdA involvement. There is nothing as detailed as NATOPS available about Mirage 2000C. It's not perfect, still needs work, but they are working on it. It's not moving as fast as we want, but the modules aren't left over. About this thread: the same questions always get the same answers by the same people (including me off course, I'm no better :D) People who yesterday were complaining about lack of accuracy of ARBS (I did agree) are now complaining it's too accurate (I have yet to test)

I know this is the official reason, still I laugh every time I read it. Geramny: dear uncle Sam, should we put your B-61 on our home built Eurofighter, or should we spend billions into your industry to buy US made fighter ? Uncle Sam: spend billions to buy US fighter. End of negotiations... Off course US says it will take more time to integrate to Eurofighter if they can sell their fighter instead. During Cold War, fitting B-61 to Tornado wasn't a problem. B-61 was also a selling point for F-35 in Belgium. And yet, B-61 isn't operational yet on either of these US fighters... End even if it's guided, it's still not propelled, it's obsolete compared to ASMP-A (ramjet). Moreover, buying a few F-35 for nuclear strike would open the door to follow on orders. And this would indeed threaten FCAS program. And FCAS isn't only French interest, it's also the future of German industry which has a lot of political weight. [End of out of topic] I will be very curious to discover this generation of aircraft. Even if the weapon system doesn't bring new features compared to F/A-18C Lot 20, dynamic performances will bring a lot more energy to launch missile. Very high thrust to weight ratio and super cruise. Also it's interesting to discover new avionics logic

Page 1, by Zeus67 who coded it :smilewink: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4256264&postcount=8 - MAG = Vertical or narrow - MAV = Horizontal or narrow
-
Actually now, when you select Magic (without MAV on PCA), you have 2 search patterns: - vertical search - narrow search (square corners in the HUD) You toggle between the two with "Magic unlock". The Magic will automatically lock on target (no uncage). And you can slave Magic to radar lock with HOTAS command. In MAV mode, the vertical search is replaced by horizontal search, elevation at the top of the HUD. Yes, the ASE is simpler because the range data aren't displayed on it.
