  1. Ah! Copy that! Read you all wrong then, I see what you mean.
  2. Well the one doesnt exclude the other. But the fact remains. We NEED the Su-24 (or at least I do :D )
  3. 1. T-90 also has ATGM's 2. You can back up without doing a 180. Just put your gear into revese Or am I missing something? Interesting discussion guys. I do love me some CA
  4. WTH means "passive development" anyways? I would argue that "Active Development" means that they are activly working on it. In whitch case "Passive Development" would mean that they are not working on it, and are just letting the Helicopter develop itself. This would in fact explain alot
  5. Interesting discussions indeed. Now let me share my opinion, on what this sim dearly needs It dearly needs a redfor strike aircraft. I would be overjoyed with a SU-25 full fidelity. But what we dearly need - is the Su-24. Hands down. It is the only choice
  6. OMG wall of text! Please use punctuation and spacing so we can read it without a brain meltdown. Sounds interesting, and I'd love to read it, But that big textblock really hurts
  7. Crushing people would be fine. I would however much prefer if they actually ran for cover, when a tank is overruning them. Not just stand around looking dumb while they are being mowed down, one by one, by a 12.7mm HMG
  8. 210 pages Sorry if it has been asked and replied before. Simple question. I own the Oculus and I have had it for two years. Is it worth upgrading to Rift-S or should one wait for "next gen"?
  9. No. the model is not in game already. You can clearly see the twin barrels of the 2x30mm cannon. Other loadout seemes to be S13 rocket pods and Shturm Missiles on wingtips. What almost freakes me out though, is that we are still stuck in this god damn Chit-Chat section of the forums... doesn't that tell a stoty? Edit: interesting thing is the markings on the fuselage. looks the flag of Turkmenistan, or Comoros, mirrored? Thoughts?
  10. Mi-24p in full view for 0.08 seconds in the "DCS World 2020 and beyond" video
  11. Combined Arms is a module that lets you play as a tactical commander. Moving units on the ground by issuing orders on the F10 map, ordering firemissions to artillery etc - and also take 1st person view and directly control units. This issue is either an AI issue, or terrain mesh thing cheers
  12. This is not a Combined Arms issue
  13. The Mi-24 was indeed designed to carry ATGM's It was a requirement from the Defence Minister himself. The early versions had to use the much less effective MCLOS Falanga missile, because huge delays with the development of the 9K114 Shturm missile, and it's guidance system. The helicopter might be very good at lobbing huge amounts of rockets, indeed - but to say it wasnt designed for ATGM tankbusting is wrong. It was. And it did and still does a good job at it. Edit: Wikipedia says the later models (including Mi-24P) can carry ATGM's in pairs on outer and wingitip pylons, suggesting the total amount it can carry is 8. This however is Wikipedia, and I have found no photos supporting this. Edit 2: enemyforces says the same. Also Found theese
  14. The aircrafts optimal altitude is not on the deck. And the last USN squadron retired the F/A-18C in 2018
  15. I use the software to bind everything. Saves me the trouble of re-binding my coontrols everytime ED decides to wipe our settings. Never re-bind any keys in DCS. The mode 2 and 3 are rarely useful in Full fidelity click-pits. I only bind what's actually on the stick in the aircraft. For FC3 AC it's a hwole different story, as you cant click anything in the pit. For Su-27, for example, I use Mode 1 for Navigation - mode 2 for A2A and A2G combat, and Mode 3 for refueling (Su-33)
  16. I really admire and envy your optimism man. I mean really But you do realize that they have been saying that for years, don''t you? And they keep falling back to phrases like "It's an estimation, or a hope, not a promise" (just look in the Mi-8 Multicrew thread, for a very recent example) Looking at the most recent images of their "work in progress" I'd say it's just as far away from release now, as it was four years ago. Not meaning to rain on your parade buddy. The Simpit project is awesome. At least it will keep you occupied :D And I bet it will be awesome even for flying the Magnificent Eight
  17. Well I never asked for anything and I don't remember me expecting anyone to do anything for me either. I just asked a question, and I think it's bad, that we are forced to talk over each other on AWACS in our squadron, when we have different flights n different channels. As for the cheap shots at me about I should go play Ace combat and abandon DCS and shit, no idea why I deserved that. When did this community become so toxic? I'll just set up a third channel on that magic toy software called SRS. Yeah. I'm sure none of you elitists ever heard of it or used it. Good for you. Have a nice day
  18. I didn't ask for you to be sorry. And I don't need it either. Listening to downed pilots might be useful in real life. In this game however, it's not. In this game it's useful to have a radio for AWACS/EWR. That's why I asked. But thx. You may keep your sorries
  19. That's all good and sound logic and all, and I appreciate you taking time to answer.but. 1) this is a game 2) other aircraft can do it. But cool. I got the question answered. Thanx
  20. Ack! That kind of sux now, doesn't it. I wanted to tune the Guard to the AWACS channel. So. We have one radio dedicated to Datalink. And one for talking. Basically you have to be talking over the AWACS/EWR all the time then. Unless you by cheer luck happen to have the AWACS on 243 XD
  21. Hey dudes How do you edit the Guard Frequency? I have tried to figure it out, but failed When you click EMG on the UFC, you can select UHF or VHF and see the default frequencies, but clicking the arrow buttons to edit them does nothing. Not much luck using the radio panel either. Plzhelpmkay?
  22. Well I agree. As I said. Practice makes perfect. And I never flew a Mi-8 pr any other helicopter IRL for that matters. But I can buy the statement. If it was this senestive to VRS in rela life. a large quantity of students should be pankaced every year. Point about feedback taken though. It doesnt really bother me either way. I love the DCS Mi-8 and the Flight Model as it is. True to real life or not.
  23. Well, to be fair. I've seen a comment by a real Mi-8 pilot. He said I guess you can interpret that anyway you want. Either way, I am happy with the flight model. Practice makes perfect. And I will try to dig up that source, if anyone whants it. (It was basically the only comment ha made about DCS)
  24. I'll pay nothing for this, and happily pay the double for the Kuznetsov. As they say. I call your 50 bucks and raise with 50 more :D Very happy for you guys though. The work we've seen so far really looks amazing!
