  1. Does anybody know what else it adds beyond the lower fidelity F-5, Mig and Sabre? I already own full fidelity versions of those aircraft so if that's the only addition I won't get it. But if there's new campaigns and missions then that's something I'll definitely be interested in.
  2. Would also like to know if this will mean anything for the full fidelity MiG 15, F86 and F5. Would at least like to be able to use the full fidelity models in FC4 content (missions, campaigns if there are any).
  3. Perfect thanks man. I've been doing 3000ft release at 380kts with a 30 degree dive. Mostly they're landing long as I'm using direct bombing. I want to use DL but for the life of me even after reading the manual I can't seem to figure it out. I short press the jester context with pipper on target then I hold the bomb release and pitch down to level off at my selected release altitude on speed but the bombs always drop the moment I press the bomb release. I wonder if I need to select my IP distance further from the target?
  4. Hi All, What's the correct setting in the bombing table to send to Jester for the CBU-52B? I can't see it as an option to select in the bomb type dropdown. Intending to drop in Direct mode. Cheers
  5. Very good. I guess we'll all see.
  6. The absence of information from other developers doesn't make magnitude 3 a credible developer simply because they post the odd screenshot. The MiG 21 is from the days when Heatblur and Magnitude 3 were joined. Since that split, Heatblur have surged ahead and Magnitude 3 are where they are. Fair play to them, I hope they succeed but their rate of progress would suggest we can't expect great things from them.
  7. Silence might not be totally accurate but it's not far off. They post a screenshot maybe every 6 months or so and the occasional update about what they've been doing, never with any indication of timeframe for release (which even if they did do, would be worthless given how long it's taken to this point). Nothing but yarns since 2019. At this point even if they did put it into early access or even release it, I don't think it'd ever be "finished". To my knowledge, so far the only project they have solely to their name is the Christen Eagle.
  8. Hah awesome. I met one of the guys mentioned on page 106 a while back but never asked him what model of Phantom he operated. I did know he was 555th tho which is why I ask here.
  9. Does anybody know if the 555th operated the E model in Vietnam? I know they flew throughout the war and operated while the E model was in service but I can only find reference to them operating the D model.
  10. I don't feel too bothered about the visual compression or lack thereof but I do find the Mosquito in particular not very nice to land, far too firm on the ground. Not easy to judge sink rate visually on a 2D screen so part of it will be how I'm landing it but even then, wheel landings are mission and theyre arguably meant to be the easier form of landing.
  11. I was just about to come and post this exact thing. Looking left and back with trackiR is very weird.
  12. Ah, it's coop, that explains why I haven't been able to beat it single player. I've taken to way overloading the harrier for FOB operations and just taking a run up down the middle of the FOB to take off. At one point I damaged the nose gear but just flew the mission with it hanging out. My best so far is to destroy the bridge, destroy the AAA, destroy two of the tanks holding at the destroyed bridge, strafe and rocket run infantry and kill one of the amphibious armored vehicles fording the river. I always lose when the armored vehicles cross the river, I need to rearm too much and don't have the loiter time to carry enough weapons to get them all even with massive overloading. Cool mission tho.
  13. Crossing into Syria, took machine gun fire crossing the border. Struck SA-5 target. Pilot killed by ground fire crossing back over the border. CPG made emergency landing.
  14. Same here, just tried the mission. Wingmen spin around on the ground, take out ground units and blow up. I tried taking off by myself and orbited for ages at H52. No F-16s showed up.
  15. Reporting back for anybody interested. I run mostly high settings but I keep some stuff like grass loading radius down and I only run at 1080p. The increase in performance from the 4070 is incredible. I've gone from getting a stuttering 35 frames low level over Paris to generally being above 100 frames with some reductions to 90. High level over Syria and Normandy I'm getting 180 frames. Marianas is still pretty intense though, that drops to 60 frames low level but it's smooth. Where I'm still confused is my CPU spiking to 100% then dropping to 70% then spiking to 100% again and repeating that cycle. Definitely CPU limited now tho, that'll be next years job.
  16. I’m looking forward to trying it out tomorrow. It’s been over 3 years since a new GPU. Frustratingly, I can never afford to do a whole build at the same time so I get a new GPU but the processor is ageing (in this case I’ve got a 9700k). The next year I’ll replace the CPU and then I maybe get a year of having a decent combination of CPU and GPU before they fall out of sync again. My RAM is getting old too. I’ve got 32Gb worth but it’s in four 8gb sticks. Fingers crossed when I have time tomorrow I can fly low level over Paris without dropping to 35fps as I have been. It’s silly really, nothing else I play pushes my Pc, DCS is always the reason I upgrade.
  17. I think I’ve been quite lucky with my supply. It’s a cooler master bronze 750w. I’ve ended up going with a Corsair RM850x. The guy at the store was pretty adamant the Corsair brand isn’t very good anymore, poor quality build. He tried to sell me on an EVGA 850watt which I understand is a very good supply but it’s the old 8 pin connections. I only ever buy Nvidia and it’s looking like 16 pin is where things are headed. I really don’t like the idea of being stuck with adapters so figured I’d bite the bullet and get an ATX 3.0 supply. To be fair tho any power supply I buy is likely to be a big upgrade on what I had in there. Man it’s been pricey tho.
  18. Thanks for the input. I've left PC upgrades for a while now mostly due to the mad prices. Unfortunately what I'm finding is lots needs doing at once. In the end it's looking like 12 VHPWR is the future and ultimately that'll be what everything will require. My PSU is 10 years old now. I last had it tested in 2020 and it was still going really well but if I'm getting a new card, it's probably a good time to replace that PSU. Thinking I'll go with a corsair ATX 3.0 supply. Me being me, even tho I'm going with a 4070 I'm going to get an 850 watt PSU since it's on sale and the 750 isn't so they work out about the same price. What started as me just upgrading a GPU has now morphed into a new case, a new GPU and a new power supply. It's frustratingly expensive but that's the hobby. The 2060 is really showing it's age and my i7 9700k won't be good for a whole lot longer so I may as well enjoy that processor with a decent GPU while I can.
  19. About to buy an RTX 4070 card. id like to get the MSI X trio but I note it’s a 16 pin connection. MSI supply a 2x 8 pin adapter for older power supplies (which is me). Does anybody know if this compromises the performance at all? im running an RTX 2060 at the moment with a 6+2 pin and a 6 pin connection. My power supply only has three 6+2 connections.
  20. Oh man I wouldve bought it at the $30 mark way back. That's a good website, haven't seen that one before cheers.
  21. I flew in formation with these bombers for a while. They really didn't shoot at me so I decided to drop in for a lovely cup of tea. I was carried for some time.
  22. I don't understand your petulance. I was merely commenting that it was legal, I don't give a damn whether it's in game or not. Just commenting for interests sake.
  23. Legal where I am. A little while back we had an Indian chap paint a massive swastika on his roof, although obviously for him the symbol isn't a nazi one. Strangely, there is a reenactment group here that reenacts the 1st SS panzer division (the one that carries hitlers name). They fly the flags and everything. Several years ago they held a "regimental dinner" where they all dressed up in officers uniforms, arm bands and all and got together for a themed dinner. They even had a portrait of hitler at the head of the table. That one made it to the news as being particularly bizarre.
  24. Yea this bugs me too, seems a silly thing to find annoying but it does restrict vision just that little bit more and it's just not very appealing to the eye either. The padded cover on the dash looks unnatural.
  25. I’ve now trialed both the Anton and the Dora and all I’ve discovered after a bit of air to air in both of them is that I want them both. Personally, I think the Anton is iconic and the Dora just isn’t but at least in game the extra power the Dora has just gives you options. After a short time in the Anton I’ve found one technique that does seem to give me a bit more chance of survival when I don’t have an altitude advantage (such as instant action head on). I use manual propeller during aerobatics, particularly on the way up in a loop. It helps a lot.
