  1. Yeah me too, though I recently saw a chart on the ww2 flight sim forum RE the reverb with various headsets and the ss/pd settings to get the closest to the native resolution. It said that ss @ 76% was 9 million pixels in the reverb. Made me wonder, but it’s hard to know if the info is out of date.
  2. Do you think one day they might improve reprojection so we don’t even notice when it comes on? That would be pretty good right? And probably more likely than dcs suddenly becoming less demanding in vr. I do think ASW on the oculus headsets is a bit less noticeable than the steam equivalent so hopefully there is room for improvement for steam

  4. I agree Aurelius, we all have different expectations/standards or what not (other words I can’t think of now.) I think I set my expectations too high and was thus a little disappointed, but having been strictly vr in dcs and starting with the cv1 a) I have not had to compare the image to a 4K screen b) have learnt the art of compromise which seems essential when it comes to this vr stuff. Overall though far from perfect I personally find the pros of vr outweigh the cons. As you said it’s not going to necessarily be the same experience for one person as it is another, life would be pretty dull if we were all the same. Also those YouTube folks do love to over egg the pudding a bit. Eaglecrash your help and info is most definitely very much appreciated:)
  5. Being able to look under the goggles to see stuff in the cockpit would be good. Also I see a noticeable performance hit when I have nvgs on, would be nice if that wasn’t a thing. :)

  7. I really like the reverb, I just wish I could get one that works properly. 2nd reverb is going back to HP today, I’m sure the lenses are misaligned. Left eye is not as clear as right eye, and lots of ghosting, pupil swim and chromatic aberration which I didn’t see in the first one I had. But I had decided that the improvement over the rift S, though not light years ahead, was worth the extra outlay. I want to find that info with the HP guy saying if you have the pro HP will send you a new one before they collect the old one, as that didn’t happen to me last time but I would like it to this time. (Any links would be greatly appreciated) Will give it one more go, 3rd times the charm and all that. Though if that one doesn’t work I still have the excellent rift s so I can’t complain.
  8. Oh interesting, thanks capthaltli, I shall try that tonight. I’d be over the moon to get this sorted with out a replacement, and it’s heartening to know it isn’t just me :)
  9. Thanks sze5003, I must say my gut says it wasn’t like this with the first one as I would have noticed it. That being said it’s amazing what you can miss with your first experience of something new. If I keep my head still everything is very clear, but slightly more so in my right eye than my left eye. If you guys aren’t having this stuff going on then I need to get back in touch with HP for replacement number 3. I thought I’d get a refund if this one didn’t work properly but having been reminded of how nice it looks I’m willing to give it another shot Ps I’m pretty sure I’ve got it in the right place on my face and no matter what position I move it to the weirdness persists.

I’ve finally got to try out my replacement reverb and it feels like the lenses are a bit out of sink, in the cliff top house when I first put the headset on I’ll get double vision when I my move my head. Steam vr isn’t on at this point so I don’t think it can be a reprojection thing, also after playing dcs this double vision is replaced by chromatic aberration and pupil swim. Oh and in dcs when I move my head it seems like the clouds move a little too, this makes me think it’s an ipd thing but I’m sure it was fine with the first reverb I had. What I’m wondering is did I just not notice this before and everyone has this? Or is this a wmr ipd software bug (ipd set to 63.5 seemed fine with the first one and is definitely fine in my rift s) that will be fixed by MS at some point? Or is it a fault with the headset itself and I need a replacement? Or none of the above? I would really appreciate any feed back as apart from strange visuals I’m getting now I really love it, also my 30 day refund/replacement period is fast disappearing, thanks :)

  13. @jameslockridge you can deselect enable vr headset (or summit like that) in the vr settings. But then it will just be monitor and nothing will show up in the headset till you enable it again. Not sure if that’s what you’re after? :)
  14. I’ve gone cv1 to rift s to reverb, and therefore can’t properly remember what the cv1 was like I’d still say there’s a pretty big difference. I’ve heard people compare it to going from standard to high def but I think that is overdoing it a bit. To be honest I was a little disappointed at first but the reverb most definitely should be noticeably clearer than a cv1, and outside the cockpit was where I saw the biggest improvement. Have you tried waggling it around on your face a bit? With all my headsets it’s taken a bit of waggling to find optimum view. Edit, Yeah the YouTube dudes are, in my mind, prone to exaggerating things.
  15. I get that too, with the lines on the airfield. I dunno but I think it’s just one of those things. Sacrifices have to be made. I personally feel that if the software/hardware allowed us to run our headsets at max pd plus’s max aa and high shadows etc all the current crop of hmds would be amazing. Sadly we aren’t there yet. Still love vr
  16. Apologise if this has been asked already, but is it possible to do missions with a wingman in sp? Can I add one in the ME? I’m sure they will end up ejecting because of poor fuel management, but the extra bombs/missiles would be helpful :)
  17. So my 2nd reverb arrived today, but life being as it is at the mo it’s still in the box and likely will be till next week (school holidays this week, so very little free time.) But this weekend I noticed the wmr cross eyed thread up the top (must get my eyes tested) and it looks like something I will need to use as maybe that’s why I find the cockpit a bit easier to read in the rift s and also why I felt a bit cross eyed in the menus. The problem is having read through that thread I have no idea how to use it, so I was hoping one of you knowledgeable folks could give me a pointer or two? Ah times run out, my daughter and her friend have found me, thanks in advance....
  18. I had this in the f16 the other day, flying low with no weapons. But it wasn’t left and right it was up and down like going over speed bumps. I thought it was odd, but is it supposed to happen?
  19. I don’t understand it either but 63.5 (the ipd I use in my headsets) works well with everything except the viper. With that I use 55. I’ve obviously never been in the cockpit of any of these aircraft so it’s mainly guess work except for the viper as I can compare stick size (ooo er madam) as the f16 uses the same stick as the warthog

I have a couple of questions if any one could be kind enough to answer them I’d really appreciate it :) 1) I’ve done the thing with the thing to turn on persistence, but when I go into the mission planner the Units I e destroyed are still there, is this normal? I’m looking forward to trying to take out the sa 10 sites but not if they are going to reappear. 2) is time of day randomised, and if not can I change it in the mission editor without scuppering the persistence (assuming it’s working)? Thanks :) Ps fantastic work by the way, so much more fun than making my own (predictable) missions
  22. @werewolf_fs Did you try putting the indicator on? I only ask because I didn’t think I had reprojection on, but when I turned on the indicator thingy the little boxes were changing couloir so it turned out I had. I think it’s very cool the way it tells you if it’s cpu or gpu that’s causing the reprojection to come on
