Those voiceovers are added by the YouTube creator as he is playing through the mission. You should contact AWACS with the F7 key and ask for bogie dope or picture to get updated contacts. Keep in mind that as the E2C plane is following its track, at long distances, during a turn, he may reply with a clean picture, and that's perfectly normal. Just interrogate again in a minute or so while following the heading given by the controller.

As long as you are stopped anywhere on the airport it should do the trick, I want the players to land, since there are some missions with crosswinds and minimal weather, but I was trying to save time on the taxi part. You could still taxi anywhere you would like if you want, as long as the plane is stopped you should get the score to pass. Also don't forget that you can press " ' " key and get the mission result while in game, just wait for a few seconds for DCS to calculate. Sometimes it takes 2 3 seconds to give you the right score. Cheers,

Hello, It looks like one of the flights that is require to survive to pass the mission is marked as dead after landing. I don't know the cause of this. However, the mission has been adjusted to avoid this problem. The mission is available here until Eagle Dynamics will publish an official update. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cFSyIi8522wiQcJGSpj79WRZb9BElV8g?usp=sharing Cheers,

Thanks a lot for this. Damn that AI! I'll work on a fix. Sorry for this.

It's a fine line I have to thread, in a mission in reality the ships probably will lack the capacity to talk to you over radio, If I give the player a warning on the radio, it is already too late if missies are in the air. Also, in reality you will not know for certain the results of a mission until you land, however, life would continue and you wouldn't have to re-fly the same thing. With a dynamic campaign engine It will be different, but this way it's challenging to tell a story.

Make sure you intercept the bombers before they engage the ships. The ships must survive.

On this one flight integrity is important, the way I do it is take off, go on route, wait for my flight to join and then accelerate and get the position of the Migs with the E2C while still keeping your wingman with you, so don't go AB, pop the radar up so the Migs see me as threat and ask the wingman to cover me and pop one head on, I turn for the Mig that's going for the transports after that, and if you are lucky your wingman either tangles with the other two or at least takes one of them down. It's a 2 vs 4 fight where you have the advantage since the Mig's prioritize the transports. Sorry about this, a future iteration of this campaign will have an insta win option available, it's about 3 weeks away

Wow, you got really close! I checked the parameters and 50 points are for Heli group to be alive, I tested that and it works on my end. all 3 transport airplanes to be alive. 50 points for L-39 to land and you to land and be stopped. I ran the mission once and went okay. I'll test it a bit more later on today. Thanks a lot for flying it all. Cheers, Sorel

E2C pilots don't like to be called AWACS pilots so, to keep them happy we will call their plane by the funniest nickname ever. SuperFudd. The E-2 also received the nickname "Super Fudd"[2] because it replaced the WF (later E-1) "Willy Fudd". In recent decades, the E-2 has been commonly referred to as the "Hummer" because of the distinctive sounds of its turboprop engines, quite unlike that of turbojet and turbofan jet engines. In addition to U.S. Navy service, smaller numbers of E-2s have been sold to the armed forces of Egypt, France, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Singapore and Taiwan.

Have a look at some people that played it and went through it. You have quite enough gas to go up to 25k while still managing your flight integrity. As for navigation it is clock and compass and time, you get some hints from the SuperFudd when you hit your turns. As for the Su-24's not a whole lot I can do about the AI. It's not easy but it's quite doable, remember your AIM-9's are front aspect, and remember that your flight can help you as well if you keep your flight integrity. Regards,

It looks like tanks and buildings don't mix. A group of tanks that supposed to move and capture a city is stuck at startup behind a building and roam around in circles. Tanks position have been adjusted. Also, the loadout has been changed, now the player flight is carrying the AIM-9P5 with forward aspect capabilities. The fix is available here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1cFSyIi8522wiQcJGSpj79WRZb9BElV8g?usp=sharing and it will be submitted to Eagle Dynamics to be added in a future update. Cheers,

Well, I found it. I'll post the fix on a separate thread. Keep in mind that after you clear the air of enemy fighters and Cobra's are going back to supporting the ground troops, there is about 10-15 minutes of loitering time. I change the load out as well. That was my bad. Also, keep in mind that you can select your loadout before you start the mission from the mission planner or, you can change it on the ground before startup. Cheers, Sorel

Hi, I'll test it a bit later today. I have a feeling that there's a bit more to this than just a bug, Most of the missions where you support ground forces are quite balanced. In this one, for example, If the red planes get too close to the ground troops, when they escape you, it causes the helicopters to go defensive and not support the ground troops, this causing the ground troops to sustain too many losses and not be able to capture the city. The same thing with the F-4's if they get defensive they won't be able to have their ground attack and complete, so the helicopters will have a higher AA threat, and will not be able to support the ground troops. Any chance you may have saved a track of your mission? Cheers, Sorel

I'm testing these missions with quite an average system and it was okay on my end. I'll run some tests later on today. Cheers,

Did your forces captured Ubinskaya? You should get a RTB message when the main tank force is in the city.
-
You are totally right, if I would be going by what ground units are available in DCS in 1979 there would be a lot of guys with just rifles on the blue side. I picked this year because the "teen" series wasn't fully in service.
-
The wingman should be dumb on this one. Dumber than the usual. I tried to put the waypoints closer to visual reference points that are easy to recognize, like lakes and cities, or clear spots in the forest. I don't want to spoil anything, but the wingman doesn't make it. You can always drop a carrot on the map if you loose your way and get your bearings, I know it's not fair but in RL you would get a bearing or a location from a radar station or from your airborne radar.

No, this is the YouTube move creator adding his little part.

Hi there, That's a first. Any chance you can post the mission result that is failing? Missions shouldn't skip back, I'll double check on my end as well.
-
I'm glad it worked, think about the early days of the YGBSM squadrons, when they went against SAM's with nothing but bombs and rockets. The way the units are grouped it shouldn't be that hard if you plant your bombs right. And, nothing to apologize for, if I can help it's all good. This is my first campaign, I'm learning from you guys, the one flying a whole lot. So, it's all good.

Hi Roelof, The voices in DCS are the only way to get accurate guiding on where the other airplanes are, same things with the AI in your flight, If you script them too much they become more stupid., that's why I had to mix a bit of both, If you hit your waypoints close enough ,you should get enough talk on to to be able to finish your tasks, Cheers, Sorel
-
Any chance you can send me a track or a copy of your mission results? It looks like you are doing everything right. You have to destroy more than 80% of the SAM group. That includes the launchers and the trucks parked. Cheers,

It's the ghost of missions past.
