Continue playing it man, then if you would like you could replay it. I'm not the one to tell you what to do.
-
If you read the forum, you will see that this campaign is going through a full overhaul. Unfortunately it won't be in the next patch.
-
Yeah, you have to be landed and stopped for a 100 scored to pass the mission.
-
That's normal DCS behavior mate. AI never takes off in formation if you have to taxi. It used to work nicely in the LoMac times, but not anymore.
-
As you get close to the FARP you should receive a message to go to another landing spot. Do you have your radios on? 251 is the frequency. From there, you have to land to a LZ then turn back to the invisible LZ and the next part of the mission should load. I'll test it later on today and let you know if everything works okay,

Mission 2 Bug found squashed and mission updated
SorelRo replied to SorelRo's topic in Bugs and Problems
No worries, pretty much everyone is on OB these days, and the versions will get merged anyway soon. That's why I was a bit surprised. I'm glad it worked. I hope you enjoy it. -
Mission 2 Bug found squashed and mission updated
SorelRo replied to SorelRo's topic in Bugs and Problems
The latest DCS update. What version are you on? OpenBeta or Stable? The updated mission was included in the OpenBeta update in December 19th 2023, it is in the change log: DCS: UH-1H The Huey Last Show Campaign by SorelRo Mission 2. Take-off pad is colliding with an existing static object - fixed Mission 52. Triggers approaching LZ tweaked -
Mission 2 Bug found squashed and mission updated
SorelRo replied to SorelRo's topic in Bugs and Problems
Make sure you are on the latest update. The fixed mission should have been updated already. -
Do you know what you are getting? What values you get from the AWACS and what do you get from the airport? And yes, I believe the airport vectors you for the approach to the active runway. AWACS will vector you to the airport.

The option should be there, as part of the UH-1 Huey module. I can't remove it or I can't add it. Make sure you don't have any mods. I put a safeguard there, so Angus embarks automatically if you don't call him back. However, the radio option should be there as far as I know.

Mission 13 AA over Pshada
SorelRo replied to VsetciPokapu's topic in MiG-21bis Battle of Krasnodar Campaign
It's the AA accuracy that increased in the last few updates, they are way more accurate and it makes it much more difficult to deal with it, the only chance is to preflare, and go as fast as possible, but it's a matter of luck, I'll try to review it and put update some of the missions. Cheers, -
It is possible to add, but, the wind is quite strong if I remember correctly, you shouldn't be in the smoke to drop the payload and the zone is quite big, right between the tires. It's the only mission with a payload. I'll look into adding a stop-smoke command. Also, you can check the score with the "apostrophe" key, 100 is what you should get to pass to the next one.

The only radio that should matter is the AWACS and your flight and they are all on the same frequency. what is happening in your case?
-
It must have been a Chinook or a ground object that took the brunt of it I'm glad it works now.
-
Hmm, that is interesting, I'm sure i set them up to be invulnerable during takeoff. ....also, remember how the mission starts? They are too many and too close, the pilot is having a premonition

Hi guys, As it was pointed out, after the latest updates the AI is not taking off properly and they happily smash into each other. This makes the whole mission hard to finish. I have taught them how to stay alive and fly better. Or at least take off better. The update is available here and it will be included in a future DCS update. https://drive.google.com/file/d/166RVz4tjJaNpqZGPjajGOBK9A-93r7Yw/view?usp=drive_link Just replace the mission in your DCS World\Mods\campaigns\UH-1H The Huey Last Show folder As always, any feedback is greatly appreciated. Cheers, SorelRo

Yeah, you are right, the rest of the flight is losing numbers at takeoff, with the full flight they can take care of the threats quite right, also, don't get in the thick of it, keep it moving, and let the Cobras do their job, hang back a bit and let them fire their TOW's then you can go in, remember to keep it moving and keep dodging the ZSU's by now you should be really good at it. I have adjusted the mission, mostly ensuring the flight stays alive, and some other tweaks and the time slow down during dialogues, so you can time accel to your heart's content. I'll push an update in the next 5 minutes or so. Cheers, SorelRo The update is available here:

I'll check it out. there may have been some AI behavior changes, that mission is hard, but certainly doable.

If you ever read Chickenhawk, that's pretty much the bible of helicopter pilots, you will find a lot of passages talking about flights like this, how you can get an overloaded Huey to move from hovering in ground effect to transitional flight, a few cases like this one in this mission, a few cases with moving in circles around a clearing to get enough speed to be able to get up, although i have been tempted to simulate something like this, I believe it would have been hard for a lot of players, also, in that book there's one passage describing how the pilots dealt with an overloaded Huey that caught some barbed wire in the skids and how they managed to get out of it, by knowing how much they can push their helicopter. Once again, it's an amazing book and a very good read if you like helicopters and the Huey.

Hi guys, As a @Screenchecker pointed out, after the latest updates the AI increased their sniper level to "God", so when you land in a certain LZ, you get blasted, thus making it a very hot LZ, a bit hotter than hell. Since my goal is to keep these missions cooler I have came up with an update. The update is available here and it will be included in a future DCS update. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1UYOXNYHdhOaC59nFvaxJ0__T01gLKKQN?usp=sharing Just replace the mission in your DCS World\Mods\campaigns\UH-1H The Huey Last Show folder As always, any feedback is greatly appreciated. That's actually a bit of magic that happens behind the scene with a few seconds of invisibility and invincibility, it's actually something that I hate doing but with how accurate the AI these days i feel like I have to use tricks like this more and more, I don't like it, but it is what it is. I'm glad the mission worked for you. I'll put it here and send it for a new update. Cheers,

Mission 11 (CAP for Kiowas) - how?
SorelRo replied to SuperKermit's topic in F-5E Black Sea Resolve '79 Campaign
Definitely the Mig-21 AI is way smarter, there are also a few things that don't check out well. Let me see if I can come up with a fx before rolling out the new version. -
Hmmm, that never happened to me, do you know what unit got you? That's probably some APC, but if you would get the unit name I could see what happened, tanks could fire at you if you linger too much there, your approach should be really quick, I'll test later today, I wonder if something happened and maybe AI moved to quick there. it supposed to be tight but still doable.

You are right, they shot first, and they are taking shots at you, as you progress through the campaign, you may notice that the main character goes through a series of emotions. I believe that is similar with how helicopter pilots felt during Vietnam, at least that's how it shows in the majority of the books I read trying to build this campaign, and yes, the mission is quite simple, but I think it is very fun to mix it up there with the F-4's
