If you want 2 circle in a F-16, stay above 10000 feet.

. . . . It’s your playground fella, do it how you see fit. When serving, we were from the ‘use the smallest amount of bang for the same desired effect’ mentality. You really don’t need to go Nuclear.

I (and others) were of the impression that if you use Nukes, YOU have lost. The negatives are just too great. RW? You can lose land that will become uninhabitable for X amount of years, the fallout will create problems far and wide, you have lit the touch paper for any and all belligerents to go full retard and make the world glow. Sim? You can lob your weapon of mass annoyance on an MP server and gain a whole load of new people who, once back in the air, will be specifically looking for you, and maybe you will have lit the touch paper for any and all who wish to drop Nukes all over the place and turn the map into a sim impression of a popcorn maker. Offline single player? It’s your world if you wish to make it burn.

Is the Tomcat capable of a hammerhead turn/ rudder reversal
G.J.S replied to Snappy's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Would asymmetric thrust work as the speed bleeds down? Doubt it would be a true hammerhead in the sense of the way a prop can accomplish it, but given the thrust available it could be a very close approximation? How tolerant are the intakes in such a high yaw scenario, the inner intake to the yaw may be okay, but could the outer handle the severely turbulent airflow coming over the nose? -
Also look at Decimomannu on the island of Sardinia. There is a range up the western side of the island (look for large white rings near the coast).

Reheat flame pattern and strength can be effected by local environment in real world, maybe DCS models the same? When we took Tornado to the deserts around Nevada, quite often during the day you wouldn’t really see the flame pattern unless you were so close, very different to the UK. At night was a different story obviously. It all depended on ambient temp, pressure, altitude, quite a few things. The flame won’t always look the same, even trim settings in the engine can alter the flame, quite obvious if one has a slightly differing trim to the other. Not saying that’s what it is here, but if it’s modelled . . .

I take it the OP didn’t like the way the other thread (I commented in that one) he started about exactly the same thing was going, only a few days ago . . . Here we go again . . . . . -
CAS, and specify helicopters as the mission targets.

To continue to use - you pay. It really is that simple. Good luck pitching that to them, or anyone!. I give up . . .

There wouldn’t be that possibility via just “a key”. They would need to download the base sim, then download the airframe you are using to see what you see. You said you made planes for XPlane and MSFS2020 - if the key thing were the way to go, then only one person need download a plane of your creation, and then he/she could give out keys to whoever and that way hundreds of people could enjoy your labours, via just one download. Now imagine if you were selling that plane - 20000 people using just one purchase? Not a great business model.

ECIPSU is an addition by TERMA, doubt it will be added to the -16 in sim. It would require a model changes, sound overhaul (3D sound is fed to the pilot so as to ‘hear’ direction, and closeness), and an RWR upgrade (ATD), also JHMCS symbology integration.

I think the free play periods that come around are the perfect shop window for prospective pilots. They can try most pay modules to see if they wish to continue and shell out money to own them outright. The majority of enjoyment I feel comes from learning an airframe. That’s why I pay. Admittedly, I don’t own all modules, only those which will spike my interest (and I live in hope of an F-4 again!!), but it’s the learning, and building upon that learning that keeps me coming back. The whole “give someone a back seat key” thing would be a waste, as they would need to download everything anyway. If they want a taste, there is the base sim which is free, and includes 2 aircraft. Free play periods are frequent enough for them to try others. No need for a key to ride with nothing.

F-14? Although it is somewhat limited . . . .

Garvie, I should have added “Island” on the end, lol. Also it’s part of the Cape Wrath complex in Scotland.
-
Maybe your easiest route would be Google Earth (if you have it), and see the layouts from above. Google bombing ranges, like Tain, Garvie, Spadeadam and Holbeach in the UK for instance. In the US, there are many. Nevada you know of. Barry M. Goldwater range in Arizona, Avon Park AFR in Florida, Bravo 20 in the Fallon range complex, also in Nevada. Bare in mind however - ranges change, sometimes frequently. Russian? No idea unfortunately.
-
Have you looked at the 476th range objects stuff? https://www.476vfightergroup.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=287 Details about the ranges if you install (but will give you an idea if you wish to set up your own elsewhere). https://www.476vfightergroup.com/nttr/nttr.php

Awwwww bugger!! Lol, I typed it all out, then returned after a few minutes thinking “it was one question, and I’m giving everything short of that days lunch schedule!”. 03:35 here my friend, and I’m whacked. G’night bud.

I seem to remember ANVIS 6 or 7(?), it was a Gen 3 type NV. I don’t have personal pictures of such a thing, and a quick google - well, pretty much ALL the pics look like the bl**dy things! Occasionally feel it in the neck still, wasn’t just the goggles, the counterweights added to the ‘joy’ too.
