Another great one. Makes sense that Edwards birds are kept more pristine than line birds. Great work. Some pics of the a/c in question. https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/9205465 https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/9198080

Stunning. Crisp. A masterpiece. If this guys work isn’t a must have, I don’t know what is . . .

The F/A-22 designation was dropped many, many years ago fella, even I knew that. Doesn’t the “institution” provide you with current reading material?

Do RL antiship missiles hit the same place?
G.J.S replied to WelshZeCorgi's topic in Military and Aviation
No. It’s likely that the targeting logic will select a similar point of impact (at waterline, centre of assumed mass for instance), but hit accuracy will be dependant on many things - sea state, target aspect, target motion, target rise and fall due to waves, some weapons have programmed avoidance manoeuvres, target type even. Some weapons can be programmed to target likely areas of a certain target type - like for instance cruiser magazine likely locations. Going further into detail will be frowned upon unfortunately, but there are many options available to ensure any certain selected ship target type gets the attention it may deserve. -
That’s basically it in a nutshell, if the nose keeps climbing hands off, then nose trim down to stabilise. But be aware that you can only trim for the speed you are flying at that time, if you accelerate the nose will climb - conversely if you slow then the nose will tend to drop (depends on the aircraft). As for in combat, I frequently trim a wing to counteract an imbalance (in most all aircraft) - say a store or missile has been fired singly, it’s twin is still there on the other wing, I will trim to counter the roll ONLY IF I don’t envisage using the other within the next 30-60 seconds. It’s no fun trying to manoeuvre hard with an out of balance aircraft, why make it more difficult for yourself!??!

I would never have believed it if I hadn’t seen it . . . I wonder how long before the shoot cue gets replaced with something like this coming through the headset . . .

‘That’ is actually put on those cans??? You would hope that the pilot doesn’t have OCD, if he starts to read it at the wrong moment - he’s going to have to finish before . . .

Yikes!! One way to deal with speeders . . . . impressive!

Probably going to need to see your dcs log, that shows your system specs chap.

Are you and Subs related???????
-
Hello chap. I’m pretty sure the reflector on the -22 is on centre line, roughly just ahead of the main landing gear. From the angle of your shots, given that the bay doors are open the reflector would be hidden unfortunately. Great images btw.

F-35 and its future. Was the project an overall failure?
G.J.S replied to Hummingbird's topic in Military and Aviation
It will be fine my friend, as Subs hinted to earlier, his ‘repulsive shadow’ has many uses - protection of vehicle occupants, similar for aircraft, incredible really. The only degrees that may be susceptible to instant immolation may be bovine excretion awards that subs seems to have a few of . . . High class bull-sh1t. -

I really, really hope you are the test subject for your repulsive shadow snatch anchor ooby-dooby if it involves a high forward velocity and a brick wall . . . . I’ll bring the popcorn and sit on my multi strand levitation device with an alloy frame - a lawn chair. -

Going by my surname Scott, I conquered the Antarctic then?

Confused. Immensely. What is the relevance of the painting, other than it is female, and so is the woman by the trainer aircraft?

A few times that I’ve found myself high, I’ve attained and kept 62000ft - ballistic I’ve seen 78000. Your fourth picture shows a way that will never work for anything other than a ballistic shot and fall back, you need to attain height sort of gradually. Ensure you are as light as possible, as clean as possible, be smooooooth with the controls. Either cruise-climb, or level off at certain heights to build back some IAS before climbing in a stepped fashion. Give it a try - see where in your climb profile things start to fall apart and improve your handling in those areas, you may work out a profile that gets you way up there.

That looks wonderful, with the sister ships shall be a necessary download! Good work Sir.

Yes. The only time they come off is for actual combat ops. Same as when the -117 was front line, then the biscuit boxes come off. Still waiting for a little education from you about the first thing sensei.
