  1. I've tried both ways, I find it weird either way. It just doesn't seem to end up in the attitude I trim it at, I'm constantly fighting it.

  5. Same, looks like button press and release have the same value, so the button is effectively being pressed twice each time the physical button is pressed. If you hold down the "MAP" OBS button, and press MAPM the map stays off

  8. I would very much like to have the loadout lists re-organised. When 2.7 came out, I was very impressed and grateful for the additional short description of each weapon. However, I was somewhat disappointed in the fact that although someone had obviously put a lot of time into updating the loadouts, that the opportunity to re-organise the lists was missed. So although I do appreciate that ED go to extreme lengths to model each individual weapon rack correctly and provide the rack info on the loadout screen, I can't for the life of me figure out the logic behind the decision to have the weapon rack as the primary piece of information in the loadout list. So it is my wish, to give lowest priority to the rack type in the loadout drop down lists. For example turn these (current) into to this (proposed) I think you would be hard pressed to argue that the proposed is not more organised and easier to find the weapon you are looking for. Thanks
  9. No, not just you, you have to either bind pilot or copilot, bearing in mind if you in the left seat, the pilot bind won't work and vice versa

I would like to request that as well as being able to remove the pylons via the re-arming window as we can now, that we could also remove/fit the IR suppressors, additional armour plating, and the half-door. Would be very helpful on MP servers that have variety of tasks for helos. One could fit the Suppressors and plating if going into combat, or remove that additional weight if planning to carry out logistical moves using CTLD or similar. Many thanks.
  11. Usually yes, though I have once experienced the menu not opening when using the radio trigger binding. It took about 10 presses of the button I had assigned to the trigger to get the menu to open.

Whilst that may be the case, "External Cargo Pilot Unhook" will release the cargo at anytime, as opposed to "Cargo Autounhook" which I take as more as someone on the ground unhooking the load when landed It works as long as you're in the pilot seat, and you don't activate autounhook, if you activate auto-unhook, then it stops working
  13. I've added an item in the wish list to revert this behaviour back to the old way, ie, the menu would open at anytime when pressing \ If you think that is maybe something you would like, it would be great if you could add a comment or +1 to the thread, thanks
  14. So pre F-18, the \ key assigned to the communications menu would bring up the comms menu whether in flight or not. When the 18 was introduced, a new "rule" was introduced, whereby in order to access the comms menu in flight, a radio PTT keybind had to be used. Now this is not consistent across all modules, some aircraft allow the \ key to be used in flight and some don't. Whilst I understand the sentiment of the "\" keybind for the communications menu not working in flight, ie \ is you actually talking and without keying up a radio no-one could hear you in flight, it is becoming a pain in the backside, and confusing to many people judging by the continued posts of "the menu isn't working". This is because the communications menu is not only used for talking, over the radio or otherwise, but also selecting various options depending on the mission design, multiplayer server etc. Can we please go back to the days of the \ key opening the comms menu at anytime in any aircraft please? If the then selected option is one where a radio transmission is required, then that wouldn't be received by the intended recipient until the correct PTT was pushed. Much the same way as if I'm trying to contact a recipient on the freq in radio 1, but I've selected the radio 2 PTT. Please!

  16. Are you using the communications menu keybind, usually \ ? If so, try using the Pilot's radio trigger-Radio keybind I've asked for this to be addressed in the following post, maybe you could add a comment so it is elevated and seen by ED

My original input into this topic was because Eagle_01 wrote: and I was simply trying to point out that ED at some point, F-18 release IIRC, started preventing the \ key from opening the communications menu whilst in the air. This is true now for multiple aircraft. It was "explained" as pressing \ was the same as you talking, while on the ground, the crew could hear you talking and respond as required. But in the air, you would be simply talking to yourself, hence the need for pressing a push-to-talk key, so you would in effect, be talking down the radio. Now as that menu is used for other things, selecting slingable cargo for one, it doesn't make sense to me to have the \ menu completely disabled whilst in flight. I would like it if it still worked in all aircraft, and any radio message would simply not get through unless the correct PTT was used.
  18. Well I thought the purpose was to get the menu to open when VIACOM wants access to the communications menu. So when VIACOM is sending the \ to open the communication menu, DCS would interpret that as "press the pilot's radio button" which WILL open the menu in flight.
  19. How about trying this. In VA assign \ as your communciations menu key. In DCS, assign \ as Pilot's Radio trigger - Radio you can also have Alt+\ as the pilot's radio trigger too
  20. I don't use Viacom Pro, but I do use voice attack. In order to access the comms menu in the air, it is necessary to bind the pilot's radio trigger. The "communications menu" bind doesn't work in the air for some aircraft, so the push-to-talk radio key must be used instead.
  21. Your internet speed in Task Manager is reported in mega bits per second (Mbps). Internet speed is also usually sold as "so many" megabits per second. DCS is reporting download speed in megabytes per second MB/s There are 8 bits in a byte. so 6.8Mbps is the same as 0.85MB/s 6.8 / 8 = 0.85
  22. Would this be the option that allowed the JDAM to fly the heading the aircraft was flying when it was dropped? Like sometimes I don't want the JDAM to have a specific heading, just fly in a straight line from when I dropped it to the target.
  23. Well I just tried the "cargo container" set to 2600lbs in a single player mission, no wind set, definitely felt that some extra collective was needed to lift it. At 170kmh straight and level, it started swinging around a bit and broke the rope. I used the container as thats what most multiplayer servers use for CTLD. THE XSAF server I play on allows slingloading. Don't get me wrong, it is better than before. Was just thinking a metric tonne would be more stable. Maybe I just have to lower my expectations a bit
  24. I still had weird swinging with 2600lbs crate cargo, I was doing 90kts, is that too fast? Even if it is, it's the random side to side swing that breaks the rope. edit, was much better with a 3300lbs ammo cargo
