I've pretty much stopped using the Hornet for CAP mission in MP and stick with the F-15 just because my survivability in the FC3 Eagle is better.

If you've become used to the data overload from the Hornet HUD, the F-14's HUD is going to seem quite barren by comparison.

From what Wags has stated, simulating the full functioning IFF of the Hornet is complicated. I imagine part of it is dependent on other systems functioning or near to it like MIDS and Link-16.

This is a good shot of the GE F110s on AB. Certainly more intense than what is seen in the current Heatblur F-14.

The F-111 Foxtrot version would be a great addition and a true interdiction aircraft in DCS outside of the nonflyable Su-24.

The Mav is best used against smaller gunboats. It just doesn't have the range to launch outside of the SAM range of most larger ships. Will have to wait for the Harpoon.

The AB has been the one aesthetic that's looked the most off. As said above, it just looks weak compared to the actual GE F110s. HB did a good job on the Viggen's AB so I'd expect the Tomcat to get no less treatment.

It's interesting to wonder what could have been if the A-6F had been produced since it brought a new radar that would have allowed the A-6 to carry AIM-120s:D along with being fitted with F404 engines which no doubt would have improved the thrust-to-weight ratio.

Highly doubt we see the HARM in the next update unless development is going alot smoother than let on. It would be rather awesome to see it in the next Open Beta followed by Heatblur releasing the F-14 the same week.

After the whole live-stream event, my expectations changed to seeing the Tomcat no sooner than mid-January.

Nice. The APQ-156 on the A-6E TRAM and onward was also a beast of a radar from what I've read.

Zero expectations of ever seeing any variant of the Foxhound, even the early Mig-31A. Among Soviet-era aircraft, I'd rather see a full-fidelity MiG-23MLD.

I haven't run into any real issues so far. I have to echo the above sentiment about the incomplete IFF and hope that can be resolved in the near future.

The Maverick F and G will be available the 21st.

I would echo this. With just the A-A capability, I think the APG-71 could be accurately simulated. Don't know about the IRST given a lack of details on it. I just know I've heard there were plans of improving it if they had gone ahead with upgrading to the proposed Super Tomcat 21. I'd also be curious if the improved AIM-54C++ could be simulated aswell if we ever get the D.

It also sported IRST, albit a less capable version than what I've read they had planned. The D model was also Link-16 compatible.

If the stealth characteristics of the F-117 could be accurately simulated, it'd be interesting module to me. Just for something more night-mission focused as well as having to react to specific radar types to better avoid being detected.

Chances look decent that we could see the Maverick F and G released on the 21st. Probably will get more bug fixes as well. I sorely doubt we see any sign of the HARM until December at the earliest.

Fingers crossed we see the IR Mavs in the next open beta patch.

The Hornet finally gets some standoff strike capability. :thumbup: Now I'm really looking forward to the Maverick F/G and HARM.

The main attraction of the Intruder for me will be its powerful A-G radar (hopefully the APQ-156) plus its night and poor-weather capabilities. That and its shear bomb load capability. :D

Seems likely we'll see the Maverick E this week. Hopefully we still see the AGM-65F and G by the end of the month.
