  1. I'll take a late 90s spec F-15C over an A. Also, I believe that the DoD has already agreed to purchase a batch of F-15EXs.
  2. Would love to see them improves the explosion visuals. Perhaps even add visual shockwave for the heavier bombs.

    Aim7F?

I'm also curious if we'll ever see the AIM-7P which became operational in the early 90s.
  4. So we got the third and final HARM mode? (SD, TOO and PD)
  5. Based on that specific year then this F-8 will have access to the AIM-9H version of the Sidewinder in addition to probably the older D and G?
  6. Glad to see the F-8 becoming a formal module and that it will be the Juliet model. The MiG-19 and 21 will have a dance partner.
  7. With the extra time, they get more opportunity to iron out problems and present a more complete component. Hopefully this will be the case with TWS if we get it in the next Hornet OB update.
  8. I'm very tempted by the AV-8B. I currently have FC3, M2000, A-10C and the F/A-18. Is the Harrier worth it being that it's been out for alittle while now? If the F-14 was discounted, I'd of gone for that but I'll wait.
  9. Pretty sure the things that are taking immediate priority from what has been said is finishing the HARM and getting TWS implemented. This will be followed by the LITENING pod. ATFLIR still looks alittle ways off. I'm hoping that AutoIFF is also in the near future.
  10. The F-4J would be great since I'd like to actually run the Phantom off a carrier as opposed to a land-base all the time.
  11. Since the chance of seeing the F-14 as part of the sale is quite low, I'm eyeing the Harrier.
  12. Hopefully this change not only means a more bug-free release but also more content. I imagine we'll see the final HARM mode and fixes to the JDAM while LANTIRN will be relegated to the June or July update.
  13. This is why ED should move to Poland. An Su-24M module would be a great addition.
  14. The perks of the Super Cat are really in the more capable APG-71 over the analog AWG-9, a modern HUD, Link-16 and DFCS. Being able to drop JDAMs is nice too.
  15. I'm not sure the F-14D would fair much better than the B against the Hornet or F-15 in the weapons department since it never got AMRAAMs. I can see how Link-16 combined with the faster APG-71 and modern HUD would benefit the Super Cat in situational awareness. The DFCS would mitigate some of the temperamental control issues that come with the F-14A/B too.
  16. I think if a 4th gen Red aircraft could be done, it would have been done already. I think the most sophisticated you're going to get are late 3rd generation like the MiG-23MLA and possibly a MiG-25PD. I'd love to see the MiG-27K personally. But for aircraft more aligned with where HB seems to be going, certainly looking forward to a flyable A-6E SWIP Intruder and hopefully, the F-14D Super Tomcat down the road.
  17. It's a shame cause it's such a fun little jet and actually very competitive in a dogfight. The A-4 would be perfect in the Cold War server but alas, everything pointed out above.
  18. Not to my knowledge, atleast recently. Since we got the AIM-9X, I'm actually hoping ED will work on newer variants of the AMRAAM at some point like the AIM-120C-5 or C-7.
  19. Hopefully, it's not a long wait. Mine expire on May 31st so certainly hoping before then.
  20. Source? I've never read anything about Japan reconsidering the Eagle.
  21. It kind of depends which variant of the Tomcat to me. F-14A (1970-80s) - MiG-23M, MiG-25 and Su-15. F-14B - MiG-23MLD, MiG-31. F-14D - Su-27, MiG-29 and MiG-31. As far as other Western aircraft. I've heard the F-15 always gave the Tomcat the most trouble in mock fights. To think, a simple software upgrade would have allowed the Cat to use the AIM-120 instead of being stuck with the AIM-7. :(

    F-15E?

The Strike Eagle is going to be a complex module especially with simulating the A-G radar. Not expecting to see it for awhile.
  23. The F-14 downed 2 Su-22s and later, 2 MiG-23s. It apparently had quite a bit of success in the Iran-Iraq War aswell albeit no official figures exist. It's certainly not a suspension of reality for the F-14 to be used against fighter sized aircraft. It easily rivals the F-15 as an imposing presence in an airspace. It's not just a bomber killer.
  24. From checking yesterday. Still no go on the Tomcat as far as bonus points being allowed.
  25. Use alot of terrain masking and don't overload on missiles due to the increased drag. I've had better luck interrogating Tomcat's in the F-15 than in the Hornet just because of acceleration and have gotten close enough to pop a few AMRAAM shots off.
