From the 3-D model, it looks like it will be the A-6E TRAM or the later SWIP upgrade. Still very much looking forward to the Intruder and the chance of it becoming a playable module down the road.

I'd imagine for 2019 we'll see ATFLIR + LGB/JDAMs. Possibly a few basic A/G radar modes to allow for weapons like the Harpoon. The SLAM-ER and JSOW will likely take longer.

After not seeing any new video's posted by Wags this week on the JHMCS, I pretty much figured it wasn't coming this week. We could still see it by the end of October but it is what it is for now. If its release is pushed to two weeks from now while getting the Maverick F and G sorted out in that timeframe, it could be a very welcome big update.

I'm planning to nab the F-14 first. When the F-14A is finally released, use my bonus bucks to get the Gulf map.

No lazing for the Mav E. I'll still take it out for target practice and think of it as an OP rocket. :laugh: Is there any difference between the Maverick F and G? Both use an IR seeker and have the same heavier warhead. I'm assuming the G was meant for the Air Force.

Honestly, I never used the tgp auto slave (successfully) for Mavs and mostly relied on the seekers cam just because I found it faster. Need to go back and practice that again for when the ATFLIR is released.

I'm just glad I'll be able to fire off my Mavs at whatever target and bolt out of a hot area much faster than I would in the A-10.

The Super Tomcat would be kind of the cherry on top for additional developments. Not sure how much info is out there on the APG-71 or IRST that the D model Cat sported. Another few added benefits would be the JDAM and LINK-16 compatibility.

I was 4, now I'm 34. Didn't see Top Gun till a few years later though when my folks finally let me watch it.

I think it was mentioned ED is aiming for end of the month to have JHMCS ready. No mention of when we could see the A2A radar overhaul though. Hopefully in the same timeframe. Outside of maybe the HARM, I don't see any A2G capabilities being added until 2019.

Are we going to also see the AIM-7P for EA or is that coming sometime later?

The only discrepancy with the IRL IRIAF F-14A is that they never received the updated Phoenix. They'd still be using the original AIM-54A which I don't think is modeled in DCS. I'm rather curious to see how the F-14B and a fully-functional Hornet could cooperate on Blue-side.

This is certainly my curiosity as well as I recall hearing the Tomcat will be available in 2018 but not sure if that's changed with the claim of a Winter release.

Was the upgraded F-14A/B also able to drop JDAMs? I know the F-14D had that capability.

Glad to read that we could see this by the end of the month. Hoping we also see the radar overhaul as well.

The Super Bug would be a great addition simply for the increased endurance and extra stores compared to the Legacy Hornet. That said, if they were serious, I'd prefer it be the Block 2 with the APG-79 AESA radar. I realize that's tougher to simulate over the APG-73 because of classified material. It would be the first true 4.5 generation aircraft in DCS.

For using LGBs, when they become available, on the Hornet. Are there ground units that can Laze targets or will we likely have to rely on an A-10C with its TGP flying above to do that?

Aside from just flying around and practicing sometimes with the A2A, I've pretty much put the Hornet in the hanger for now. Been putting more time back into the A-10C and F-15 in MP. That said, I've found the Hornet, in it's current state, to be still pretty capable in A2A engagements if I play it safe. I'm looking forward to seeing how the F-14 will change some of the dynamics in PvP play, especially if the F/A-18 can perform SEAD by that time.

Getting the IFF integrated with the radar will make me happy enough. Hopefully by the end of October we see TWS, full IFF and maybe the JHMSC.

I'd also be very excited to see the AGM-65E/F Maverick finally make it to the F/A-18, even if it just means using the seeker head to find targets at first. Just to give the Hornet some standoff A/G capability.

So a Holiday early access/release isn't out of the question now?:D The module looks fantastic so far and I'm looking forward to 10/7.

So I get the right channel frequencies. I can see when other people are talking through the dB level but I hear nothing over my headphones. Not sure why I can't hear others on the server.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the AIM-120 and Maverick E/F before the end of summer at the earliest as the first new weapons for the Hornet. The AIM-9X and JHMCS, and maybe the HARM will probably come sometime in the Autumn. Everything else is up in the air to me.
