  1. Erm....the Viggen does have a tape player...o_O
  2. And I only see ground targets from far away through scopes and monitors so I actually never noticed how outdated they look. On the other hand I look at other aircraft and my own from the outside while I rearm or at the end of a sortie. Different skin color, larger chest. Probably takes 5 minutes to do for someone who knows how to do it. That's your opinion just like I have mine. Here I have to admit that my ADHD got the better of me and I completely misinterpreted the last section of your post so your criticism here is justified and my answer didn't match what you wrote. I apologize for that. Just to be clear, I don't think that female / non white pilots should be a top priority and that they are something we desperately need in DCS. I just don't understand why some people are so adamantly against them being developed.

    exploding huey

How does it explode? In mid air or does it crash into the ground?
  4. Have you never looked at your or a fellow player's aircraft using the F2 camera? You know there are servers that allow that and people tend to do that in single player too. There you can see the color of the skin. BTW chopper pilots aren't fully covered as they don't wear face masks. Exactly, it's a tiny change and doesn't take many resources. Not much in that case and that's why it should be fairly easy to do. But then again, chopper pilots... and then there is the voice... Indeed. And your point is? That AI units should get a priority treatment over player units? I thought we're talking about non white / non male players who find it unimmersive to see themselves as a white male pilot inside their aircraft? I don't think that colored or female ground units are going to address this. We're not talking a forced diversity quota here but to give non white/ non male players a somewhat representing body model. You guys act as if people asked for a full price module that will take years to develop and will divert resources from other modules for years to come....
  5. There are some female and colored pilots out there so why not? I don't see that as SJW virtue signalling but just as adopting to real life. Voices might indeed be a problem but considering that the voice acting isn't that great anyway it could be done by community members with good microphones.
  6. And it's still broken, even after today's update. :(
  7. That's how I do it. I also use the twist handle as the pedals and it works just fine. All it really takes then is the understanding of the physics involved and plenty of practice.
  8. 7,62mm not .50cal.;) But you are right, the sound has either been gone for a while now or is so quiet that I can't hear it.
  9. Wow, I didn't know time zones were so different around the globe.:noexpression: Where I live it's still June. :P:D

Frankly, I think the Viggen has a rather crude RWR. it has a blind spot directly ahead, only gives you vague directions from where the radar energy is coming from, no launch warning and only different sounds to determine what type of threat the radar source is.
  11. Had the same happen numerous times today in multiplayer with a 550kg crate on the 107th Through The Inferno server. The CTLD spawned crates for the Hawk SAM site worked fine but when I tried to pick up parts for an ammo truck the load would start swinging uncontrollably and tear the rope off once I reached around 30knots.
  12. Had the same happen to me in multiplayer today. Only thing I noticed was that I could barely get the Viggen supersonic. o_O
  13. Because each player can click into the the cockpit section of the other player. That doesn't happen in tandem where you have two separate units.
  14. Indeed. A bit of infrastructure to kill would be great for the Viggen and possible Tornado as well. As for the F111 it certainly is an interesting bird with some history so why not?
  15. I'm not entirely certain but I believe it's a "no" on both accounts.
  16. Reviving this old thread as I have a problem that was mentioned a few times here too and that is that my "next page" and "previous page" keys seem to unbind themselves randomly. The worst thing is that I'm now unable to rebind them. This morning I had to bind them again and they worked fine throughout the multiplayer session. A few hours later I wanted to fly again and the kneeboard wouldn't respond again. This time I was also unable to rebind the keys and only got this in the key binding menu: All of the browned out entries don't work. What am I doing wrong? *Edit* Just started the game again and could bind those keys.... it's really odd..btw I'm using the open Beta.
  17. Yes, but that was decades ago and with no spare parts being delivered from the US the Iranian air force's jets of American origin should be in pretty bad shape by now unless they learned to build that tech themselves.
  18. It's getting ridiculous, especially with the sale going on. How much confidence does a new customer get when the product he buys in a sale is broken and can't be used for weeks? Why no hot fix? Maybe there is something going on in the back ground that we don't know but ED could at least communicate that.
  19. Never had that issue so far.o_O
  20. There is already a thread about that right below yours.;) Heatblur has fixed it but it wasn't in time for the last update unfortunately. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=238570
  21. It's in the change log. Thanks ED for finally fixing this. :)
  22. Doesn't that break the integrity check in multiplayer?
  23. Well, the Viggen is just as old and can handle more waypoints....:music_whistling: So it's not entirely unrealistic to expect a bit more of a state of the art carrier aircraft of the same time.
  24. I guess the price tag had a lot to do with it....
  25. Welcome.:)
