  1. I don't use the PDF utility enough to make it worth spending the money. I use the DCS modules, PC and flight gear enough to make it worth the money I've spent. It's not that I can't pay for it, I won't pay for it because I don't use PDF's enough to need it. *Edit* What PDF app did you buy that only cost 7 Euros? Adobe wants a monthly subscription and there is no way I'm doing that. I have the second monitor so that I can open the appropriate template I made for whichever aircraft I'm flying at the time. (I used LibreOffice's spreadsheet to make a template that I fill out for my stick/throttle.)
  2. What I don't like is the inability to edit them or make notes without paying for a PDF reader. I have two monitors for my PC so I can have a PDF manual open while I'm flying if I so choose but I can't make notations in it without paying for a reader. I simply don't use PDFs enough to make paying for a reader worthwhile to me.
  3. Has Heatblur said which naval variant(s) they will make? If not, why do so many assume it will be a J/S and not a B/N? Inquiring minds want to know.
  4. Oh crap, I misread what he was saying. Apologies Manhorne!
  5. Pessimists tend to say that.
  6. This time they've said "winter of 23/24" so it's unreasonable to think they are failing to hit their projected release if it doesn't happen before January 1st. If it releases after March 18th then you will have a legitimate complaint. March 19th is the first day of spring in '24.
  7. Uh, in your post you included "The pre-order saying Winter 23/24". Their release date won't be missed if it comes out in late February or early March because that is still the winter of '24.
  8. There is a pessimist in every crowd.
  9. I've sat in the cockpit of many F-4E's and in the cockpit of a MiG-21 although I don't know which variant it was. In fact, I've sat in the cockpits of multiple MiGs including the -15, -17, -19, -21 and -23.
  10. It also has generators to produce electricity and I believe they charge the battery in a similar fashion to a car's alternator producing electrical power while also maintaining the battery charge.
  11. Really? Can you link the page that information is on?
  12. I don't recall if the Phantom requires external power to start or not but I do know it has an internal battery. The Phantom doesn't require external air to start because it can be cart started and I guess we'll find out soon enough if that has been modeled.
  13. The Phantom can carry 3 different nukes on the inboard pylons and centerline rack. I loaded the B-57 and B-61, the B-43 was a bit before my time.
  14. Just to be clear, in game...clouds do or do not block IR missiles?
  15. There's a Hall Monitor in every crowd.
  16. My new wallpaper. This is the ramp at Seymour Johnson although the aircraft are not parked in rows like when I was there. However, I worked on Phantoms from the 337th (red tail stripe) and 335th (green tail stripe) squadrons. I loaded weapons on all of the aircraft in this photo. Iirc, the white building that says Munitions Handling on it is where our stocks of impulse cartridges were stored for easy access to all the AMU's weapons flights.
  17. Beautimous, absolutely beautimous. Thanks friend.
  18. I replaced my 1TB SSD with a 4TB SSD and moved the old save game folder to the new drive and none of my stick maps are showing up in game. Can this be fixed (if so, how) or do I need to remap every aircraft?
  19. We're getting the F-4E so the GIB isn't a RIO, he's a WSO.
  20. And yet those are both fruits. This begs the question as to why DCS has not made trees destructible yet especially when you consider the player base generally desires as much realism as possible.
  21. Here's a list of 216 games that have at least some level of destructible environment. https://gameforge.com/en-US/gmag/destructible-environment-games/ Maybe this will put to bed the notion that we are waiting for this technology to arrive. It's already here so it begs the question why DCS isn't using it yet.
  22. Destructible objects in games are already possible.
