  1. My friends and I have been playing this variant for a few days. We enjoy the other maps you've created quite a bit. One quick question, the Air-starts for enemy AI, while very good for performance, make it where destroying one wing of enemy AI result in another instantly taking its place in the air. Is there something we can destroy in-game to reduce enemy spawn frequency? Like destroy the EWR Radars? The other night six of my friends couldn't get near the north because the instant we shot down an enemy wing of fighters, another would spawn immediately, usually close to us. Even with all of us using full CAP loadouts, we could not suppress enemy fighters as fast as they spawned. This picture was taken about an hour into the mission, all of the parachutes you see on the ground are from AI planes spawning, dying, ejecting, and immediately being replaced within a minute of being shot down. All of North Nevada was covered in these chutes by the time we decided to call it quits. Is there a way to change/adjust this?
  2. Definitely want a response on this, big servers can fill up quite quickly with disembodied burners filling the server.
  3. Any way to dial in a manual channel using the UFC?
  4. I'm starting to think that a certain someone was correct about SD-10 modeling. Can anyone confirm? It doesn't seem to have the range that the preview videos had.
  5. Just bought it. Looking forward to trying this out
  6. I have to ask, in one of Redkite's videos he mentioned something about a Deka website going up. Are there still plans for your own storefront where we can buy this module?
  7. Thank you so much for your hard work, I am very excited for this module.
  8. I can answer why he did that:
  9. I think everyone should take a glance at Nineline's post before they take the word of some random account as god. This thread blew up over some guy who is certainly laughing himself senseless right now because people are so high-strung that they'll take one out-of-context post as being all the proof/evidence needed.
  10. I'm not reading 12 pages of this. EDIT: I see here that I missed nothing. Thanks for the reply, Nineline.
  11. No, they were fine with that because it was on "The right side". Notice most of the complaining is really about which side the SD-10 will be representing.
  12. I think some of the most ridiculous posts in this thread are the ones insisting the JF-17 and the SD-10 have to be "Worse" because of it's history of being created from the data of other aircraft designs and not because of any physical reason. It just has to be "Worse". The ""copy"" can't be better than my "original". Something something China something something America. tl;dr nerf your experimental data in favor of my feelings on NATO aircraft that I have developed by being surrounded by them for most of my life Can we just close this before some people make even bigger fools of themselves?
  13. Great tutorial. The Flankertraining vids are what got me into Lock On/DCS.
  14. I watched the replay of the event where this occurred, and tried replicating it in single player. For the life of me, I can't get it to happen again in Single player OR Multiplayer. Same approach, same speed, same airport, same wind conditions. The only difference is the speed and power of the host machine (The following occurs on a friend's very underpowered server.) Here's the approach in screenshot format: https://imgur.com/a/RnHZWmP https://i.imgur.com/u3tl3VF.png Good approach, a little fast but I'm flying into the wind. So it's closer to 260/280. https://i.imgur.com/I0hDfSU.png Gently lower it onto the runway, going good, good AoA. https://i.imgur.com/8AJnjGq.png Touchdown, now to lower the nosewheel down. https://i.imgur.com/NdFgWOQ.png WHOOSH! Right into space. The second the nosewheel touched down, my entire plane deflected like it was in a Cobra. I would like to note, that smoke isn't my tires touching the pavement; that is the plane deflecting so hard that it tailstruck. https://i.imgur.com/MDKe4q9.png Me, clearly confused, decide to try that one more time. So , lowering the plane back onto its hind gears. https://i.imgur.com/rDbFeT7.png Good touchdown, nose high, gently lower the nose after slowing down some. https://i.imgur.com/rXbv13T.png BOING! Right back off into space as the nosewheel touches asphalt. https://i.imgur.com/8ZgsHYD.png So my friend, eager to make it look easy, gives it a try. He's on a good approach for a landing as well, a better one than I was in. https://i.imgur.com/8vifQaM.png Multiplayer desync makes it seem like he's floating, but he just touched his two hind gears down, and is now lowering the nosegear. https://i.imgur.com/tyQLvWe.png Nosegear touches down- https://i.imgur.com/llrbRr2.png Right back into space again. He too deflects so hard that he tailstrikes. Zero damage to his gears but one of his engines stops afterwards I spent an hour puzzling what happened after that, and I couldn't figure it out. I tried the same exact approaches at the same airports in another multiplayer server (TTI). None of them had these results. All of them, at the same speeds, same aircraft weight, same loadout, same wind, same airports, landed perfectly at these speeds. I was talking with another friend, and the possibility that this was caused by server desync and framerate came up. The server that this happened on was being hammered with a really intensive mission, and it wasn't exactly a powerful machine to begin with. Server FPS was reported to be about in the 10-17fps range. The server actually crashed instead of going down. Any thoughts? I can try to convert this to another format if someone wants to watch it live. The replay is extremely huge, and has my multiplayer details included, so I'm not inclined to share it publicly. I do have a tacview of the event, as well.
  15. I am suspecting this is a factor of server performance, and I think a recent patch has made it worse. I was one of the people saying "Well it's fine, just land it nose-high and you don't get this problem." earlier in either this thread or another thread. But now? Gently lowering the nose onto the runway can cause it to rocket the whole aircraft up off the runway. Sometimes touchdowns at ~260kph with less than a few m/s of fall speed result in the aircraft trampolining into the sky. The curious part? The gears are perfectly fine after that. No damage whatsoever despite the fact they can apparently jump several hundred meters off a concrete runway. You can do this multiple times and the tires and gears don't break a sweat. I've only had this problem on a server with a very taxing mission than in Single Player or Multiplayer on a powerful server cluster. EDIT: Screenshots to follow in next post.
  16. Make sure it is bound in your controls. It should be "Target Lock" and is by default Enter. You're probably slewing the target away from your radar's cone of vision just before you lock, because the radar has a short 'memory' to targets that it detects. TWS switches to STT automatically waaay beyond the effective range of the R-27, R-77 or the AIM-120. Make sure you're tracking the closest target in TWS as to not lose total situational awareness when it swaps to STT.
  17. Uboats, I am seriously impressed, Deka has done incredible work with this module. In terms of the IFF, I would leave it as it is but give mission editors the ability to set IFF codes per slot so people don't have to do anything when they spawn in MP inside of certain slots which would share the same IFF codes. The ability to have dynamic IFF is an extremely powerful tool for interoperability. You've made leaps and bounds above the competition with this video, alone. Congratulations
  18. I can't speak for your specific problem, but I've had wing rocking sometimes rarely happen because of the massively sensitive trim. Trim in the Mig-29 is way too sensitive. So sensitive, that if you engage the autopilot, it will actually fight it in an attempt to find a 'neutral point' for the trim, and may fail to do so. Look toward the enunciator panel and see if the 'Trim Neutral' light flashes on and off very quickly while this is happening. If it is, that's the autopilot going over the neutral trim point, and then back over it again in a constant oscillation as it tries to right the aircraft, which it will never do if this is happening. If this starts happening, you have to find a way to trim it out yourself with stick to trimmer. This usually only happens to me if I have an asymmetric load due to firing ordinance.
  19. re-iterating what I said in the Fulcrum thread; instead of recording your screen, why not just use Tacview?
  20. I'm not going to say that the tracks shouldn't work, but why would you record your screen instead of getting Tacview?
  21. Confirmed. Still broken lights.
  22. Thanks for the continued updates.
  23. That's just the nature of the simplified module, normally you would be in EO mode and re-acquire the moment you could get the lock back; but none of that is modeled in-game. I just learn to use the gun funnel, it's accurate enough.
  24. Definitely, the F-5E and the Mig-21 are two of my favorite modules in DCS. If it seems like I complain a lot about them, that's only because I love them so much.
