Exactly this. In the old days there were a couple of bits in the cockpit that we couldn't show to visitors - they either got a black cloth cover over them or they were just left powered off and glossed over (like "These are the engine instruments - fuel flow, temperatures and so on" without adding "And the super sensitive new navigation display that we can't talk about"). Poor example, though that piece of nav kit was so super secret that it was months before it was commercially available...

Maybe I've been unlucky. Or maybe you've been fortunate... I really hoped their quality control would improve after Logitech took over but while I hear good things about their newer products (which are also bloody expensive) their legacy products seem to be, lets say, inconsistent. When it worked it was really good, though.

My second X52 Pro (third X52 in all) has just stopped working. Throttle works, base of the stick is fine but no stick control or buttons. Happily (?) this one is new enough to still be under warranty. The last one started generating random inputs and ignoring deliberate ones. Sadly, because I like the product, I have come to the conclusion they they are, basically, crap. Thrustmaster is that price for a reason.

I get that. But of course you can fly tactical recon in an F16 carrying a LANTIRN pod (is that a thing in DCS?) and you should also be able to carry buddy packs to do AAR in the F18... I'd like specific SAR integration as well, but just not at the expense of oher work - mainly bug fixes.

My choke point appears to be video card rather than RAM. Having said that, with 32Gb and a 1060GTX I don't have any performance issues. But I didn't really notice anything other than a very occasional stutter with 16Gb either to be honest...

ABRIS improves massively if you turn down the brightness (rotary knob at bottom left corner of the screen)

Does it happen on every mission or just a specific one? Happened to me a couple of times on missions I'd created. The reason being I hadn't set anything as "player" so it was waiting for a player to join and unpause...only they couldn't. May not be your problem of course, but it might.

Pretty sure you can do that in the Gazelle...

I got it before, but to be fair I don't think the assumption was that you turn the laser off, more that it is masked from the Vikhr by whatever it is you have hidden behind... I see both arguments here - I'm just going to give it a try and if it works, happy days. If not then fortunately it's not a real Vikhr I've wasted. Cos they're expensive ;)

That's an interesting idea. But how do you launch without a shoot cue? Or do you lock em up, shoot, drop and then popup at the last moment? Genuine question by the way - not trying to have an argument about whether it would work...

Once you extend that logic you could walk your pilot to the pickup point, have him hide in the trees while bad guys are around, the list is almost endless. And the ultimate penalty for getting shot down, too - having to stay in place until recovered, unable to respawn (if the server is set that way)

Indeed. Which is why that chap with an Igla just gently lies down for a nap after you've hit him with a burst of 30mm. I'm OK with this - I've had enough actual real blood and gore and shit to not seek it in my relaxation.

It would be good - partly for realism and partly for spotting ground vehicles - if a tank drives across a field you'd expect a line of muddy tracks behind it, same with snow etc. The lack of this robs the simulation of immersion for me. Trivial perhaps but if it's easy to do then...

If you call it up for recovery, can't you request a steer in the same way you would calling inbound to a FARP? Genuinely don't know the answer, just making a suggestion. Otherwise cheat and set up a waypoint that coincides with a ship waypoint at a similar time?

There's a nice UK skin on the downloads section (though I say so myself). About to be joined by a desert one. And an arctic one if I can make it look right... I'll have a mess around later - thinking about it I'm not sure I've ever been able to make a ship (or oil rig) the takeoff point...

Is that right? Surely if so the OP would have had to do that to tell his flight to spread in the first place?

Use a US skin or edit the description file to include USA? The you have an American Ka-50 which can use American assets... Or have I missed something? Oh, and our wingamn's AI should actually be called AS for Artificial Stupidity. Because they are as dumb as rocks.

It's so bright that in standard mode the horizon bar and speed readout are invisible. That said, it does force me to mess with contrast and brightness and I end up with a better picture than I had before... Silver linings and all that ;) But it doean't seem to be right. Edited to add that the ABRIS screen is also extremely bright.

You should still get airspeed displayed top left on the screen, even without Shkval on. Maybe a horizon bar as well? I can't remember offhand and am not able to look right now...

I think he's using non-European format, so it's 3,7km, not 3-7 as you may be reading it?

Hi, I'd really like to, for example, change the colours of a BMP-2 to desert. Or a ZU-23 to winter. No...but it is ancient. What you won't see is newly developed operational stuff.
