  3. In your windows username\DCS.openbeta\ folder, you will find \fxo and \metashaders2. I’ve found that deleting the contents of those folders after driver updates, game updates, and video setting changes resolved many strange issues for me. However I see you’ve been around since 2010 so you probably already know about this fix attempt.

  5. I didn't notice any fixes for F-18C CCIP broken after inputting ripple interval data. Could it be that the fix was not documented, or still broken?
  6. I recorded this rockeye delivery using CCIP just a couple days ago (current open beta). The main issue I can see is when you try to input interval data for ripple release. Otherwise they work quite well as you can see in the replay.
  7. The experiences are what does it for me, especially in VR. Example: Flying a mission, get engaged by various Iranian interceptors. Fox 2 on a Mig 21, after splash start maneuvering to get my nose on his buddy. While steering, notice the burning wreckage of the Mig 21 is on a collision course with me. Keeping an eye on the incoming wreckage and his bastard friend that i'm trying to get solution on. Burning wreck passes me so close that I can see detailed damage modeling within the smoke and fire.

  9. Hi All, I've been working the past several months on a MP mission template that tries to emulate a fully populated country (Iran). As I add more and more units, clients aren't noticing any lag. I'd like to continue adding units to make more things to do, but I know that eventually there will be a threshold where there are just too many units doing too many things. I'm hopeful there's a good way to measure the impact of having too many units and things going on in the mission by reading data instead of getting feedback or opinions from clients. Does anyone know if the data in one of the <CTRL>+<PAUSE> pages show a good indicator for mission 'overpopulation'? :helpsmilie:
  10. Loadout consists of 8 Mk20. In CCIP, everything works well until I set ripple interval. As soon as I press ENT the piper bomb fall line goes horizontal. Tried different things to get it to go back to vertical, but no joy. ccip_bug.trk

  12. Holy smokes! First of all, people who are frustrated are that way because their expectations are violated. It’s a normal reaction for humans. I get it! TWS will become available for both birds in time. The hornet hasn’t had TWS all this time and I still enjoy flying it very much. When the viper has TWS and not the hornet, I will still enjoy flying the hornet. When the hornet eventually gets TWS, no change to my enjoyment. Just have some patience and enjoy this modern military flight simulator. :)

Below information from https://forums.vrsimulations.com/support/index.php/AGM-84D_Harpoon BOL BOL is one of the two primary Harpoon launch modes, and uses a predesignated bearing in conjunction with search and destruct ranges in order to create a window which the weapon will use to acquire and destroy targets. The BOL specific options are FXP and UFC. Selection of the FXP option commands the, MC to NAV stabilize the midpoint of the Search (SRCH) and Destruct (DSTR) ranges, creating a fixed point, or "virtual" target. The FXP option allows the pilot to launch multiple Harpoons into the same search area. This point is used as a fixed point that connects the Harpoon flight bearing line to the aircraft. As the aircraft flies past the fixpoint, the bearing line rotates around the fixpoint. With FXP unboxed, the Harpoon bearing line remains fixed in reference to the aircraft at the programmed bearing. R/BL For R/BL, a preexisting designated target is required. The MC calculates the target and Harpoon turnpoint position (if HPTP selected) and sends targeting information to the SMS. The HUD provides bearing, the time to maximum range, and the range to the target. Upon satisfying the range requirements (assuming no other out-of-zone conditions exist) of the missile, an IN ZONE cue will replace the TTMR cue in the HUD and stores formats to indicate that the minimum launch requirements are satisfied. In the R/BL mode with a target designated, the MC will calculate the pre-launch Time Of Flight. When the Harpoon is launched, the MC begins to decrement this as the Postlaunch timer. If the next Harpoon stepped to is an R/BL mode missile or a HARM in PB mode is selected, the MC calculates the pre-launch time of flight and displays the post-launch timer, the pre-launch timer, and the difference between the two in the upper right corner of the STORES Format.

  17. I’m aware of past discussions about this topic. I’m having some fun :D Even if 4x mavs + SFW, F-16c in DCS is more effective against armored targets.
  18. Complexity is a tie. If you want to have the power to decimate a armored column, go with the Viper. DCS F-18c can’t load CBU-97/105 or 6 mavericks on two pylons.
  19. Not a stupid question at all! I assumed there isn't a in-game seat recline adjustment option. Is there?
  20. Perceived seat height issue resolved for me. I adjusted the angle of my seat (IRL) to match the game position and now everything feels normal.
  21. Rift S user here. Much easier to read panel text with hornet. Biggest problem for me with the Viper is that it feels like the seat is nearly chest level and I need to move my head down a little to see the full HUD. As if the cockpit was made for someone that has a VERY short torso.

  23. Solved! Here's the solution for anyone else that might have this delay/hanging problem. In simshaker for aviators, go to service tab and then click 'DCS Repair Export'.
  24. I tried that when I got home today, and after I started DCS world beta it auto-updated. Unfortunately the problem is still persisting as before. While I was flying it seems that the delay grows. I dropped a bomb and felt the drop about 45 seconds later. The second bomb release effect happened about 60 seconds later. The third was about 90 or so seconds after release. Should I try complete uninstall & reinstall?
