ED Testers Team - Hows the Progress? I've noticed the ED testers team poking around helping out the community with questions latley. Are you guys allowed to answer questions about the progress of the internal testing?
-
I would pay more for each title for sure, but subscriptions make me feel very icky. I know there are tons of people who want to support ED/TFC and ensure their lifespan, but remember that the entertainment market is not their only source of income. If you really want to support ED, I suggest buying copies of DCS titles for your friends so they get hooked like I do. :) *edit* Not to mention that if you think people on these boards act as if they are entitled to something now, see what subscriptions do.

Officially - Will A10 be Compatible with BS?
evilnate replied to Lonecrow66's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
That's a bummer man! :glare: But since your an ED tester I imagine you have some insider information that would explain why the original DCS FAQ depreciated, or why it would be too difficult for ED to allow the BS to fly the same virtual skys. I think alot of people had big hopes that the original intent of the DCS modules would remain intact, but we shal see. Thanks for the update EtherealN. -

Check the open beta section? :smartass:

My guess is that your joystick is off center. Have you checked to see if this is the problem with windows control panel?
-
Just curious here... If they improved the explosion effects and terrain textures to make them look more realistic, it would turn you off from the sim? Or are you saying this because your PC specs would have a harder time handling it?
-
I hope better better explosions and eye candy happen with they impliment Dx11. EF2000 was a great game!
-
The DCS crew cheifs must be bad about forgetting to insert those cotter pins that hold the entire nose wheels together ;)
-
Just out of curiosity, do you run DCS:Black Shark on that system?
-
The only thing we can expect is that ED is working hard to get it done, and get it done right. Unlike other devs, they focus on quality and are nice enough to not rush something out the door. Everyone should be happy that they are still working on it. :)

Exciting stuff! Can't help to speculate, but if it were a F18 with carrier ops I hope they can simulate a rocking ship with bad weather! Rough carrier landings without the RL consequences sound like fun to me. If it's some other AC I will still be stoked :)

Ah, I thought that statement about new graphic engine pertained to the next DCS module.
-
My guess is new graphic engine being the implimentation of Dx11. Yummy forum speculation.

I did notice something curious. The plan is to start internal testing on the 9th, but it appears that Wags posted this on the 10th. Are we talking the 9th of March? Just wondering.

Take all the time you can afford ED, no rush :)

Cool new sound and no lag?? Perfect time to have to be afk on business for two weeks :( So excited for b5!

And if it isn't, we will know it's all for the better. Thanks for the update :)

You know when it's time to take a break from DCS A10-C when..
evilnate replied to HAVOC131's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
All the more reason why I suspect most future military AC will be unmanned. On topic: It's time to take a break when the lag from the gau8 is too much. :p -
SFJackBauer's Saitek X-52 Profile
evilnate replied to SFJackBauer's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Jack, Thanks for making this cool profile, been using it since beta 1. I was running it with 32b, and now I am using 64bit beta 4. Problem is that when I load yours, it takes away the ability to assign keys to several functions. Another thing that is strange is that wheel brake ON only seems to be available when I load your profile. If you get a chance would you please your profile for the latest 64bit beta? -
Nice! http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/06-support/support-download-software-and-manuals.html I didn't expect NP to get it out so soon.

Need ideas for Multiplayer mission making.. lets hear them please!
evilnate replied to MadTommy's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
My goal is to try and make a MP mission that is somewhat similar to how I think Falcon 4 is. For example... Building_x is placed behind enemy lines, and enemy Convoy_x leaves the position of Building_x towards it's targets. If Convoy_x is destroyed and Building_x is alive, Convoy_x's group is re-activated at Building_x and moves towards it's targets again. If Building_x is destroyed and Convoy_x is destroyed, Convoy_x is no longer able to re-activate and the reinforcement loop is broken. I'm not sure how many entities DCS can handle, but if it was many you could sort of create a large mission that would take hours and require many players to complete. You could also do this for airports, sea ports, FARPs, etc. The next step would be adding random positions for the reinforments to go to so you don't allways expect them to go to the same locations. Time is limited for me but maybe someone with time can do this :) -
I like FF5.x explosion/smoke effects, but just like everything else it's subjective to people's opinions. I'm quite sure the explosion effects/eye candy is waaay down on the prriority list for ED, but it would be comforting to know it's on there. On the other hand when there is a TON of stuff going on (war) I've already seen what happens to this engine. There was this one mission for DCSBS and it had all sorts af artillery and weapons being launched at once and it took my FPS down to it's knees. Once most of the explosions/ordinance was done the FPS came back to being smooth.

For those of us who just like a flight simulator!
evilnate replied to Mizzy's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
A flight sim fan that wouldn't accept the challenge of learning and conquering the KA-50? Sure the A-10 is fun to fly, but your not going to be able to set the hog down on a moving train like you can in DCS:BS. Do yourself a favor and pickup a copy.
