Glad you stated low in quotes, because it's not low. People obsess over these numbers, when you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between 50 and 150.
-
Bear in mind this helicopter is incredibly nimble, it will loop without loss of altitude; given sufficient airspeed, and these helicopters are in many private hands too, so you don't need to take my word for it. Claims made without evidence can just as quickly be dismissed without evidence. Fly well.
-
It's difficult to call, on seeing how nimble this helicopter is plus stability systems, it can do what we see of the actual thing. I fly real world too, though never touched rotary.
-
I am curious about the military pilot's perspective on this; deliberately running low on fuel is a huge no-no in civil aviation, you'd be suspended pending investigation as to why.
-
Oh, well there we go. Thanks for that, consider me schooled; strong argument for it then.
-
It'd probably result in damage to an airframe's folding mechanism etc, but you can and there have been instances of people taking off and landing with wings folded, so this is not an outright bug, but perhaps it could have some damage modelled if that's realistic.

I get that and understand what's being asked for, just curious if it can currently as-is be used headless, what I get from the thread is a stripped down server version without the graphics components, but some applications will run headless anyway, though of course it comes with all the things we're not interested in for server-side.
-
Uh-oh, the 'Flying Telephone Pole'.
-
Not arguing against this in DCS, (it'd be a nice addition) but I imagine that an argument in reality against field traps could be considered a form of negative training, due to it being static, I suppose it could be used as a way to transition with seeing the fresnel lense and setting up for that, as opposed to PAPIs etc.
-
I think the grass also varies on which field you're in.
-
Can an instance of DCS for use as a server currently be run headless, if so is that without any graphics card or integrated graphics?
-
There is of course zoom, or the derogatory term some use for it; Eagle Vision. Which whilst might be odd, isn't too much of a break from reality, due to combat pilots carrying monoculars/binoculars, also it mitigates for the fact we're limited to monitor res etc, whereas in reality where we have far better vision.

DCS F-14 Update: JESTER AI Behind the Scenes Recording & Multicrew
ouPhrontis replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
They were letting the whole flight play through to be natural with it, whilst selecting the relevant bites, so these slips will likely not make it into the final release! -
The free aircraft can be studied in a reasonable amount of depth relevant to DCS before even going near bought modules, BFM and ACM are great fun but also topics unto themselves. A lot of great points made in this thread.
-
I'm sure Matt may have even chimed in on one of these such threads, as far as I'm aware DCS is really only currently utilizing 2 threads at once. I will eat humble pie though if an authority on this can correct me.
-
Looking at the task manager etc is very misleading, especially on Windows, as applications can and do hop from one core/thread to another (unless explicitly confined) and the task manager will appear to show activity happening on X cores at once, when this is not the case. The core application <foo> runs on is arbitrary.
-
I'd say this is not a bug, because this happened for real, far more than many aviators would care to mention.
-
That Skyhawk looks well cared for, is it normal to see daylight through the vert-stab to rudder surface, or was there a soft baffle or flutter strip put in there?
-
Maverick, for a moment there I was wondering what kind of setup you're running and was going to complement you on the David Clark's

I think there's some confusion of terms, cushioning is an in-ground-effect occurrence. Out of ground effect in VTOL with near or no forward air-speed for wing-borne; with the Pegasus supporting the Harrier, there is no cushioning affect, it's pure thrust.

When you say similar quality levels, without knowing the specifics that is probably where the change, loss etc is taking place, edited files should be done lossless at first until you're satisfied with the result and then (if any) apply compression, there are so many levels of compression for just one file format that without knowing the specifics it's hard to tell where it's happening for you. The issue with editing in lossless is that it will start to consume large chunks of storage space as you keep cuts/separate chops of files.

DCS F-14 Update: JESTER AI Behind the Scenes Recording & Multicrew

Excellent stuff, thanks for sharing. Certainly will be parting with money on release. Also... -
I know someone contested my statement in another thread* But I don't recall seeing anywhere that ED had changed the engine to utilize more than 2(?) threads for the whole of the game, one for the core engine and the other sound(?) I believe. So seeing fairly high >80% usage seems quite normal. *https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=214289

Love the new site guys, very nice. Love the development renders, you've probably had these elsewhere but I don't use FB etc, so great stuff. Thanks.
