hello. your problems appear to be video card and or drivers. before the crash there are hundreds of this error prior. DX device removed. Reason: 0x887A0006 starts at 2025-07-10 16:12:07.222 then this 2025-07-10 16:12:12.713 INFO EDCORE (4984): C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d11.dll this could be overclocking on video card, including factory OC. it could be a driver issue. or at worst a malfunctioning card. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/startup/#3312253

fixed High mouse polling rate impacting framerate
silverdevil replied to Smashy's topic in Game Performance Bugs
if it matters, g-hub uses 70 MBs of memory. with only 32 GB of RAM installed, i get your worry. honestly helping all these users i have over the years, the one thing that everyone should do is pile as much RAM into their computers as they can. i personally spent extra when i got this PC in 2021 to get 128 MBs. i literally have no issues with DCS whatsoever. -
another idea is whether F7 could be a hot key for an external program. example taking a screenshot or recording a video.

hello. this might be your AV blocking files. you can add exception in AV to exclude DCS folders as a test. it could also indicate a hardware failure. you can also try running CHKDSK on your SSDs. also look in window event viewer for error occuring at the same time as when this log was generated. DXDIAG MAY OFFER SOME CLUES TOO.

DCS hangs on launch when using a resolution lower than native
silverdevil replied to icedstar's topic in General Bugs
good to hear. glad to help. not sure why, though sometimes things become corrupt in the saved games folder. the process of running DCS even changes files in those folders. there is a utility called "DCS Update Witching Utility by Bailey" i use. install it and run it before each update. you can make ZIP backups of important files, etc. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3315428/ -
by chance have you edited your HOSTS file? there was a strange issue previously, that a workaround was to edit this file. C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

DCS hangs on launch when using a resolution lower than native
silverdevil replied to icedstar's topic in General Bugs
hello. someone will figure it out. my suggestion is to rename the Saved Games\DCS folder to DCS.BAK. then run DCS. a new folder will be created. the folder will be recreated. then copy your inputs from the backup folder. \Saved Games\DCS.bak\config\Input to the new folder. i feel something is amiss in options.lua. -
DCS hangs on launch when using a resolution lower than native
silverdevil replied to icedstar's topic in General Bugs
hello. i suggest you post up your DCS.log from the session that hangs. without seeing the log, i guess DCS is hanging because the resolution you are using is not compatible with the display. post your monitor model too. -
haha! "i am here for help, but i do not want anyone's suggestions..."

this has to be the most true statement i have seen in these forums. bravo. i have been working in IT since the late eightys and cannot tell you how many time i have heard someone mention newer is better. for the most part, it is probably true. though sometimes it is totally unnecessary. especially video drivers. and cards for that matter. what is the true benefits for getting the newest gear when it comes out? the answer is negligible. there many posers that think having the latest and greatest of anything makes them somehow a better human. in the US this idea is personified by a lifted pickup truck. i see bumper stickers mocking this attitude "member of the 2 inch penis club". if having latest and greatest helps you, who am i to say its wrong. in my case, i have a computer i got is 2021. DCS from that point, and quite honestly on the previous computer, has never had many of the issues other users have had. so.....

did you have game ready drivers installed previously? although i do not know of issues with studio drivers, perhaps game ready will give you better results.

DCS completely freezes my PC, i can't play it anymore.

did you used to have an nvidia card? because there is an odd line or two in the log. 2025-06-30 23:24:01.400 INFO DX11BACKEND (13852): NVIDIA Display Driver Version 56633.DLSS Enabler then later in log. 2025-06-30 23:24:44.220 INFO APP (Main): gDescription: " AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT" gVendorId: 4318 gDeviceId: 29663 gMemory: 12243 MB see if you can do a DDU on your system. then reload the latest driver for the card you have. https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/ -
Graphics representation of Turbines Heat Haze incorrectly
silverdevil replied to Maltschik's topic in 2D Video Bugs
hello, first thing is you may be crashing because of low memory 2025-06-29 20:50:18.725 INFO APP (Main): CPU cores: 8, threads: 16, System RAM: 32373 MB, Pagefile: 7680 MB add a pagefile of initial size 32768 i doubt it matters but try running the DCS.exe in the BIN folder instead of BIN-MT. 2025-06-29 20:54:57.485 INFO EDCORE (Main): C:\Program Files\DCS World\bin-mt\DCS.exe also remove any mods. i didn't see any. then run a repair.

Graphics representation of Turbines Heat Haze incorrectly
silverdevil replied to Maltschik's topic in 2D Video Bugs
this is a great suggestion! from this link https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/DH3-012.html Anti-Aliasing options include: Use Application Settings - Image quality is controlled via the 3D application graphics settings. Enhance Application Settings - Offers the flexibility of improving on existing AA used in the 3D application, by having the graphics driver apply a second pass of AA. Override Application Settings - Gives Radeon Software full control over the level of AA applied in 3D applications. When selected, the Anti-Aliasing Level can be set to 2X, 2xEQ, 4X, 4xEQ, 8X, or 8xEQ. Anti-Aliasing Method - The method used to smooth object edges. More sampling improves quality but reduces performance. Choose from: Multisampling - MSAA improves image quality by reducing aliasing at the edge of textures, however it cannot remove aliasing on transparent textures such as fences. Adaptive Anti-Aliasing - AAA improves image quality by reducing aliasing at the edge of textures and from transparent textures. Sparse Grid Supersampling Anti-Aliasing - SSAA improves image quality by taking more samples than MSAA and AAA, reducing aliasing from all textures but has higher impact on FPS. Morphological Anti-Aliasing - Shader based, post process Anti-Aliasing technique that can be used in combination with any of the Anti-Aliasing methods mentioned above with minimal performance overhead. However, in some situations it may introduce a subtle blur to the image -

unless it is disabled on purpose, Windows Defender is on by default. good to hear you fixed it. you should mark your post as the solution. helps others in the future. good luck and clear skies. -
