High mouse polling rate impacting framerate
silverdevil replied to Smashy's topic in Game Performance Bugs
good to hear. glad to help. -
interesting. are you able to share the MIZ you are using? also give an example workflow so the steps can be reproduced by testers.
-
ah i see the original problem was solved but you continued with this issue on the same thread. mouse polling would have been my idea. do you have another mouse? have you tried to put it in another USB port?
-
ED does not block anything. are you able to bring it up with your ISP? i know there are lots of people that have to use VPN because of bad routes and bad ISPs. the way the world is now, who knows.
-
this dcs.log has no crash. i do see this line. may be part of the problem. Line 2398: 2025-06-15 17:33:51.338 ERROR EDCORE (5748): Can't open file: /models/ did you try my earlier suggestion about the gfx debug to clear factory OC?
-
makes sense. so no crashes or freezes now after your changes? what did you change other than cooling?
-
hello. eliminate anything in the SAVED GAMES\DCS folder by renaming DCS to DCS.BAK. run the sim again. then close it. copy your inputs from BAK to the newly created DCS folder. run sim again and test. viel Glück! null

i have heard that on rare occasions, running the video card without the factory OC may help. nvidia control panel and the then DEBUG from the menu.
-
it looks like windows killed the process since your log end abnormally. not a dcs problem perse. run a directx diagnostic and post the results. remove overclocking as a test step. also i doubt this will cause dcs to just close. 2025-06-10 20:03:48.775 WARNING EDCORE (Main): CPU HAS PARKED LOGICAL CORES (this can be source of stuttering and reduced performance especially on hybrid CPUs with P/E-cores)

hello. download this and install. run it on all your drives. it will give you a good look at all the folders and their sizes. https://github.com/windirstat/windirstat/releases/download/release/v2.2.2/WinDirStat-x64.msi now like i said earlier, c:/users/db349/saved games/dcs is your saved games location. this is where your inputs are. that's the folder you need to make a backup of. this is where you should be running DCS.exe, C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\ the folder bin-mt has been deprecated and will disappear someday.
-
hello. have a look at this solution. edit: PS: another thought. do you have another external program that uses F10 as a hotkey? something on the lines of nVidia App or the like.
-
hello again. this is your main install folder 2025-06-08 13:13:17.195 INFO APP (Main): Command line: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin-mt\DCS.exe" --restarted these 4 lines indicate where your saved games folder for DCS is located. 2025-06-08 13:13:39.680 INFO DX11BACKEND (14356): DX11ShaderBinaries::loadCache c:/users/db349/saved games/dcs/fxo 2025-06-08 13:13:43.320 INFO EDCORE (Main): Loaded C:/Users/db349/Saved Games/DCS/Mods/services/DCS-SRS/bin/srs.dll 2025-06-08 13:13:50.873 INFO APP (Main): Loaded C:\Users\db349\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Hooks\DCS-SRS-hook.lua 2025-06-08 13:14:33.546 ALERT EDCORE (Main): Can't execute Lua file C:\Users\db349\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua - no file 'C:\Users\db349\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\DCS-ExportScript\ExportScript.lua' looks like the last line is an LUA that is missing. you could post your export.lua found at C:\Users\db349\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Export.lua PS: you shared the Export screenshot so you do not need to share it again.

wie gehts. first thing to do is to share your DCS.LOG. there may be some clues.

hello. you say no mods but you have at least one or a leftover piece of one. 2025-06-06 20:11:09.161 ERROR APP (Main): Failed to run E:\DCS World\Scripts\Hooks\gunner_export_hook.lua: [string "E:\DCS World\Scripts\Hooks\gunner_export_hook.lua"]:7: module 'OH6GunnerDataExport' not found: mods should be placed in Saved Games. rename the file "E:\DCS World\Scripts\Hooks\gunner_export_hook.lua", run a repair, and retry. @Shimvolski your issue might be different than OP. there are a lot of reason for DCS not being happy. you should start your own topic. jumping into someone else's topic saying "me too" is not always helpful.
-
hello. since you surmise that the saved games folder may have a roaming culprit, you can rename the saved games\DCS folder to .OLD or .BAK or whatever. run the sim. exit and then copy your input from the backup folder to the newly created saved games DCS folder. then run the sim again and see what happens. good luck.

as stated by bignewy, put in a trouble ticket with support. more people that put in tickets, there will be a better chance of a fix. they need empirical data to fix things. also i suggest restarting network devices. and it could be ISP issue. there are a lot of crappy ISPs out there.
-
got it. it looks like the display driver is having an issue. you have the rolled back driver suggested by ED. so... i have a newer driver and am not having any problems. in the log, just before the crash there are these lines. 2025-06-06 18:00:49.746 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): ChangeDisplaySettings failed! Result is -1 2025-06-06 18:00:49.747 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [0, 0] 2025-06-06 18:00:51.612 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [2560, 1440] 2025-06-06 18:00:51.897 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [0, 0] 2025-06-06 18:00:56.181 INFO DXGUI_WIN_ADAPTER (Main): resize main window to [2560, 1440] 2025-06-06 18:00:57.465 DEBUG LuaGUI (Main): ----onSimulationResume--- 2025-06-06 18:02:57.850 DEBUG LuaGUI (Main): ----onSimulationPause--- 2025-06-06 18:02:58.255 DEBUG LuaGUI (Main): ----onSimulationResume--- 2025-06-06 18:03:25.169 INFO EDCORE (10464): try to write dump information then this 2025-06-06 18:03:25.272 INFO EDCORE (10464): C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\dx11backend.dll. i am thinking install the latest driver. i mean it can't hurt right?

i suppose DCS could have problems with internet connection issues. i do not know for sure. you could try a test. just before playing, open a command prompt and do a continuous PING to something like 8.8.8.8. "ping 8.8.8.8 -t". then run the sim. if DCS boots you again, there will be evidence of packet loss. this will give you some evidence. null
-
oops i mistyped. i meant it will not fail IC in saved games. sorry. trying it there, and trying to run the sim will prove it.
-
hello. did you change your HOSTS file to get around a previous connection problem? file is found in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
