interesting. i too have not configured this way. but not really an answer, but, DCS is testy sometimes. perhaps you found a new limitation.

have you searched your computer for any other instances of Saved Games? sometimes running programs as administrator will put important folders / files in another location. if you do have another, rename the one you had before and copy the other to replace Saved Games. do not run as admin.

hello. you can look in the Eagle Dynamics program group in Windows start menu. there should be a "repair" shortcut. another way is to open Windows File Explorer, browse to the folder "\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\". Then in the URL box type CMD. this will open the command prompt. then run DCS_updater.exe repair come back to let us know how it goes.

do a full repair. DCS on an external is not a great idea. however if it works, go with it.

do you have any texture mods? can you post your DCS.LOG from when the textures looked funky?

this is an ongoing issue. If you have FC2024, just ignore the FC3 errors as a group. you can enable the planes from FC3 individually.

this is a texture issue. either not found, corrupted, or as @MAXsenna suggested, AV blocking them. a repair is the standard fix for this. i have done my own skins, and early in my attempts, i got this missing textures issue.

i consider my rig pretty good but 3.5 years old. i am glad my i9 is 11th gen. i have no issues whatsoever. sad that i will need to upgrade it eventually.

ok can you provide the logs from the time it crashes using just the DCS.EXE in the MT folder?

that's unfortunate. in the states broadband is starting to be considered a utility like gas and electric. so for the most part it has to work. but folks here still have issues. i live in an area with concentrations of houses and military. mine is pretty good. Viel Glück!

odd. the DCS crashes immediately. i believe the extra nonsense in the start icon "DCS World OpenBeta\bin-mt\DCS.exe" --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR --restarted" is unnecessary. take off the --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR --restarted

Indeed. The multithread version is in bin-mt. There is a DCS.EXE in both of the folders. They are slightly different. when i run the icon in my start menu, this is what is in the target value ["C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" update} this checks for updates and then opens multithread preview. null

"C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS_updater.exe" look in your dcs.log will show you where the working DCS is located. and you can download the latest and put it in that folder. i have one dcs_updater.exe as above. it too is from 2023. null
