I know it's just been teased but come on ED! This IS what you're trying to tell us - we are getting an AH-64D Longbow! Please, please, please, please please - give us more details! Officially! How far are you with building the module? Is it 2021 or rather "beyond"...? How the hell did you acquire the licence to model a "D"?! Damn it - sleepless night for me...

For me this is the best news of the year!

With the nice weather outside I've been staying away from the forums and announcements lately. However, 4 new Hornet videos on Mr. Wagner's yt channel in the last 12 hours and P47 + Channel Map heaven flooding the media ;) made me question myself: are we getting a patch today?

Dear ED, Would it be possible to make the font and symbollogy thickness on the HUD and all 3 MFDs scallable from the Special menu in DCS? I play in 32:9 aspect and zoom out to maintain appropriate cockpit size. Unfortunately, the digits and letters on the above mentioned displays don't scale down and "melt into one big green blob". The only way I managed to fix this issue was editing those values inside .cfg files. However, this feels like an inappropriate approach to the problem, doesn't fix the issue on the bottom MFD and obviously gets overwritten with every patch. Please, consider implementing a slider for these values similar to the one available for VR (Pixel Density). Thank you

In real life, is there a way to make the Pod "look" where we point with the JHMCS cross? Is it coming to the Charlie?

Hi, Just noticed that the nation flag for Poland is actually flipped upside down which makes it an Indonesian flag.. :) Please fix ;)

I knew about the MiG-15. Didn't think there were others that are that broken.. Tomcat or Hornet don't have infinite energy...

Hi, Apart from the fact that all AI aircraft fly perfect manoeuvres yet using the simplified flight model on highest skill level, is the JF-17 borked at the current state? I find it difficult (to say the least) to achieve the climb rates and speed conservation seen with the AI Thunder when flying it myself. Any thoughts?

Hi, I've just changed the cams and springs on my joystick (Virpil VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Base + VPC Flightstick Extension - 200mm + VPC V.F.X Grip) to a set of non-centring, thinner ones and received a much softer and lighter movement but I'm not sure if this is actually closer of further away from reality. How hard was operating the stick in the Tomcat? I know describing this is challenging but if you know, at least say if it required as "much" force as moving the stick in the TM HOTAS Warthog. What I've got now is actually much lighter than that. Thanks

Great work! Can't wait for this to be released!

You, read these two correctly but choose not to see the 2 lines above, especially the second one which my original question was about: TWS with range >10NM: LTE 3s, loft, SARH/DL, missile goes active at 16 seconds time-to-impact PDSTT with range >10NM: LTE 3s, loft, SARH/DL, missile does not go active (SARH/DL all the way to target) TWS or PDSTT with range <10NM, or PH ACT selected: LTE 3s, no loft, active directly after launch PSTT or BRSIT or (ACM cover up with no track or PSTT or PDSTT): LTE 1s (unless STT and angle >15deg then 3s), no loft, active immediately Perhaps you mistake < & > symbols? Sub = "under" or "less than".. [<] What I'm asking about is "more than" [>] I never asked about sub 10NM. All I wanted to know was if the enemy gets a launch notification for a PDSTT shot from over 10NM when there is no Pit-bull. Now I know that it depends.. Thank you all for your input
-
The scenario I provided has been mentioned by HB themselves in this post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4062564&postcount=1 I suppose it's possible.. Sooo, there is going to be a launch warning sound present for the enemy or not? The below statement suggests that there won't be: ..and since Pit-bull never occurs.... ?
-
This is the most important sentence in the whole post! Heatblur - stay safe, stay positive and keep up the great work!
-
What if we use this: PDSTT with range >10NM: LTE 3s, loft, SARH/DL, missile does not go active (SARH/DL all the way to target)
-
Its 1987 vs 2003 airframe comparison.. Tomcat retired 3 years before EF was introduced! I'd say that if someone needs 16 years of tech advantage to beat the F-14 then Grumman did a hell of a great job
-
I'm not complaining - this is a very welcome surprise today but I'm just curious: should we expect yet another patch tomorrow or that's it for now?
-
Please, forgive my ignorance.. As far as I know the AWG-9 "STT radar operation" differs from "missile launched in TWS mode radar operation". With any other Fox 3 the enemy RWR can ID these 2 different modes and notifies the enemy about launch, correct? Is the Tomcat "TWS radar mode + passive Phoenix" a different brew and the enemy is never alerted about the launch?

1 in 4 times DCS launches with half of the usual FPS
Belphe replied to Belphe's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I thought that this can be "fixed" by lowering my graphics quality but I learnt that bringing the in-game options to low settings gives no results! When DCS starts "correctly" I get a constant 120 fps with medium settings but when it launches "incorrectly" I get 10 - 16 fps no matter what! So my next step was overclocking the CPU. I'm not sure if this is considered a poor result but my i7 7700K @4.2GHz is now stable at 4.7GHz. Guess what - same thing! I am really saddened with all this performance loss as there is no way to tackle it.. Lowering your image quality doesn't help, nor does overclocking your CPU. I suppose that if I spent a grand on a new motherboard and i9 9900K I would probably see a difference but this is currently not an option for me :( The "good" thing is that more and more people are reporting this (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=266642, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=235558&page=2, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=267342, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=263428) so perhaps it will be addressed by ED. Unless this is not a bug but rather a 2.5.6 feature... -

Copy! You are not wrong there. Started a clean mission and no FPS problems... My preload radius is all the way to the right too.. I suppose it's either a new CPU or these settings need to go down.. -
1 in 4 times DCS launches with half of the usual FPS

DCS is the only game I have noticed these issues in :( It was fine prior 2.5.6 but I have not checked with STABLE as I have no SSD space :( -

Thanks. The specs are: - CPU: i7-7700K @4.2GHz - RAM: 32GB @3200MHz - GPU: Aorus GTX2080Ti 11GB (drivers 10/03/2020) - SSD, Windows 10 64-bit Is this CPU not powerful enough? It was more than enough to run DCS for the last 18 months in 4k. I have recently switched to super ultra-wide (5120 x 1440) which is lower overall pixel count than the 4k I was using before.
