I'm not sure if this is a good or bad news.. My nightmare is ED & Heatblur falling out and the Tomcat development being put on hold or stopped completely over a dispute that could be triggered from something like this... I really wish we knew more about the circumstances of this decision and relative opinions on the matter from both sides.

Full price from me towards the "D" as well..

Do you think we could have an extra instruction in the Jester menu to "draw his attention" to a particular area around us - something similar to the JHMCS AIM-9X designator? A situation where Jester doesn't notice an incoming missile but the pilot does IS realisitc. However, it is also realistic for the pilot to be able to inform the RIO of the threat and let him counter that threat accordingly..

@IronMike - Personally, I'm VERY happy with what I've got to play with at the moment.. ;) I see your hard work in every update as well as your devotion and dedication to this module. I can only try to imagine how difficult it may be to navigate through a long "to do" list with limited crew while not owning all aspects of the environment. Nonetheless, please keep up the great work you are doing and take as much time as you need. I will never stop flying your bird!

Damn, sooo close to telling us when the next patch will actually drop...

I know my priorities are off but I really wish the little cosmetic things that Heatblur have already proved they cared about A LOT were sorted out first, e.g.: tire morphing or proper differential wheel spinning..

Hi, Say Jester picked up 5 incoming Tu-95s: 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 miles away but I was only carrying 4 AIM-54s and wanted to launch all of them in TWS starting from the second closest enemy.. How do I decide which one is Jester going to choose first? How do I make him change his mind and skip the closest one or even ignore it in the launching process? How do I make him target the Bears from the one furthest away to the second closest while I press the trigger? Thank you

Thank you all for your input. I stand corrected and maybe even learnt a thing or two.. ;)

Hi, I watched Grim Reapers' YouTube video on the "hidden", progressive, additive, G-inflicted damage on the airframe of the Tomcat (and possibly other aircraft?) and found it very unrealistic. Don't get me wrong - I don't mind for the Turkey to fall apart after going over the red line when it comes to G but for the sim to "secretly" add up all the G values and break the plane when they reach critical amount, even when the pilot applies small pressure on the stick in his last ever maneuver, well within the allowed limit is nonsense.. Yes, I know that the potential damage G would inflict in numerous sorties over time is additive but no one would inflict it performing allowed maneuvers in a single flight. Perhaps such long-term structural damage could be simulated along with Heatblur's advertised cockpit deterioration as we keep using the same aircraft in-game? Perhaps it could be totally removed? Personally, I wouldn't mind getting rid of this entirely. No Tomcat has ever fallen apart in mid-air due to a long-term structural stress/failure and if it was nearing such state it would have surely been grounded. TL&DR: If I pull too hard - spank me! But when I'm gentle and taking my time - keep me high, Baby.. ;)

[WIP] F-14B External Model - ALQ-126 Wing Glove Blisters

Well spotted - I noticed they were missing but you beat me to reporting it ;) -

I know what you're saying but I kill the same lvl AI in more modern and capable airframes...

Hi, I watched Top Gun last night and felt "the need for speed".. so I'm trying my luck guns only against AI MiG-21s and to be honest... I am amazed! I have beaten Su-27s and MiG-29s but this thing is driving me nuts! Constant verticals, constant loops.. I'm either too slow to follow or to fast and have to ease on the stick not to blackout.. What is the right approach to beat the Fishbed? He's so small and keeping the visual is super hard. And this is only the second difficulty AI (Good I believe it's called)... PS. I'm worried that the ultra realistic Tomcat nuances and flight characteristics that ALL the other "full reality" pro modules LACK will make the Tomcat imparior... :(

Has this been implemented/fixed now?

Hi all, My MFG Crosswind arrived yesterday and I am more than happy with its functionality. However, positioning of the pre-drilled holes doesn't match that on my Obutto R3volution metal feet rest board. What methods have you used to firmly attach the pedals in this setup? All help is much appreciated!

Out of curiosity, what is your loadout and which catapult are you using (3 or 4 possibly?)?

As "helpful" as any curves are they are not generating precision out of thin air but rather steal it from other areas of the authority range. Gaining that precision near the centre will cost loosing it at the outer edges of the matrix - and that is where you are when dogfighting. When using curves a "tiny" pull on the joystick can result in a "significant" movement to the control surfaces producing instability and/or stall. I don't know what can be done to Logitech extreme 3d pro but real-life stick extension is IMHO a far better way to gain precision than curves.

Is there a way to drop empty ZUNI containers? also Is there a way to determine the aircraft weight in the air and if it is light enough for trap (apparently 54,000lbs)?

Dear Heatblur, I said it before and I'll say it again: You have made my childhood dream come true! Your work is outstanding and your bird is a joy to fly. I knew it wasn't to be easy but what I'm experiencing trying to steal her secrets is a totally new level of "difficult". Thank you! :D I know you are both celebrating the launch and working on the hot fixes at the same time but please comment on the below points. They are by no means critical to the gameplay or aimed to criticise the Early Access Tomcat. I'll be thrilled even if you put them at the end of your "to do" list - as long as they get there ;) 1. I would really like to see the tires morphing when weight is put on the aircraft - just like in the Hornet. Extra bombs and missiles would definitely flatten those pretty tires a bit. 2. If possible please disable the ability for the Pilot/RIO heads to get through the windshield. Looking behind made my Pilot's head go outside of the plane. 3. Are you planning to animate the main wheels' spinning speed to reflect the actual distance travelled? Turning to either side makes the inboard wheel spin unrealistically (too fast). 4. Will the main wing airbags get animations as well? As far as I know they fill in the gaps in the fuselage when the wings are swept forward (20 degrees) and deflate as the wings get swept back. 5. This one is most likely already on your list but could you make the Tomcat stop swinging on the carrier deck like the Hornet used to? 6. I know that the DCS Tomcat has been modelled with VR in mind (and I confirm that the FOV there is spot on!) but could we have the pilot's view moved slightly closer to the front? I think that pressing Enter on the Numpad reveals where the eye position should be but it is not the default view. 7. I couldn't help but notice that as the real F-14B is launched from the carrier its elevators are in a full "pitch up" position. Unfortunately, trimming as suggested in the tutorial (+2 degrees) and gradually pulling the stick towards me as I speed up during catapult launch makes me pitch up way too much and stall in the end. Am I missing something here (obviously apart from the trim settings of that real-life pilot)? I know that the above points are either cosmetic or irrelevant and that there are far more critical issues to be looked after but as I've known you for about 5 years now I am certain those will be addressed. My issues are on the edge of importance ;) and this is why I would like you to look at them only at your leisure.. ;) Thank you for your time and amazing work on the F-14! Regards - Belphe

How to make an AI Aircraft spawn triggered by your presence?
Belphe replied to Belphe's topic in Mission Editor
So far I have: 1. Created enemy group, gave it a waypoint and late activation. 2. Created a trigger zone. 3. Set up triggers as seen in the attached image: Now I would like to make that same enemy group spawn with a 30 second delay every time the previous group dies. Could anybody help as I've been cloning, adding and changing the current trigger settings but to no avail.. Thank you in advance! -
How to make an AI Aircraft spawn triggered by your presence?

Awesome! Thank you very much for your help! PS. Is there a way to make that enemy group spawn again (and forever) after the first one dies and I'm still within the trigger zone? -
How to make an AI Aircraft spawn triggered by your presence?
Belphe posted a topic in Mission Editor
Hi All, Just a quickie - I'm trying to create a mission where a particular enemy aircraft is triggered to spawn when any of the "blue" guys enter a predestined region. In other words: I want to enjoy a bogey-free mission until I decide to face one and trigger it by arriving in a certain area of the map. I tried setting up the triggers myself and watched a few videos but failed to find an up-to-date information on the many options that the trigger menu offers these days. Could anyone point me in the right direction or explain this probably simple process below? Thanks! -
Awesome!!! Need to book 13th, 14th and 15th off at work.. PS. Content Creators - feed us until then: unleash all your videos naou!!!!

So here is what I'm thinking: 1. Farmer is not ready for Wednesday 27th realease but it would have been for Wednesday 6th 2. Very few people would like to release their work and/or "start new things" on the 13th.. 3. Even fewer would like to compete with the F-14 releasing their MiG the same day.. 4. Tomcat releasing Wednesday 20th would be both mean ;) and suggest that its not really EA-ready (and we know it's ready because of RC has been submitted to ED and is awaiting green light). BREAKING NEWS!!! - RULES BROKEN TO ALLOW FARMER RELEASE ON FRIDAY! And so, we have a gap on Wednesday 6th.. - C'mon Baby!!!
