Abuse of User Download page "Update" feature
Bailey replied to Spooky32's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Thinking like “the bad guy”, you can still game the system by adding a text file and changing a single character to get a different hash. Also, that check would prevent legitimate, necessary updates to the description of the file, such as “No longer works on Open Beta”, but it’s still valid for Stable. Just an example. -
Abuse of User Download page "Update" feature
Bailey replied to Spooky32's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I like your idea of the 3 different "modes". In the past I have hoped to see a "don't make this update go to the top of the list" option when making an update. It has been a few times that I forget something as simple as updating the version number, but I realize it hours after uploading. I have refrained from making the change because I didn't want to bump someone else off the front page. I think that the 3 "modes" would address this kind of problem. Good thinking. -
Voice Attack: Fixing Bugged Access to Comms Menu
Bailey replied to Tiramisu's topic in General Tutorials
I personally do something like: F11 F11 F12 / F11 F11 F12 / because there are menus that are double or triple deep. The above has never failed me. For any solution, you might want to unbind F11 and F12 in both dcs and steam, as applicable. They are default to view and screenshots, respectively. -
Hmm, I’ll have to try that. Thanks.

I think this would be better set as a failure in the ME, similar to the others.

Heads up for both of y’all and everyone else here, I updated the F14 profile to include “Push button 15” type commands for preset comm channels. Bonus info: You can normally “imbed” a profile within another profile by using Global Profiles. Search “Global” in the VA help PDF and it should pop up. There is another way that is not “global”, but I don’t use that option often enough to remember what it’s called.

Agreed. What I propose is only to hold us over until the official DTC is implemented. ED has said that the DTC is going to take a while bc collaboration with other devs must be done.

Bailey's VoiceAttack Profiles (Added OH-58D Kiowa!)
Bailey replied to Bailey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It sounds like DCS is not focused when you say the command. Make sure DCS is running and focused/active (click the mouse a few times in DCS. If it still does not work, running VA in admin mode may fix your problem. If that does not work, make sure that the commands you are saying don’t have a “Target”. If they do, remove them, if they don’t, try targeting DCS. If that does not work, try making a new profile with a single command such as “gear up” and observe the results. -

You have to ask Razbam for that info. -
Hi there. I am having trouble getting the UFC window data and digits appear on the iPad. For example when I press EMCON in the app, the app button visually depresses, I can see the DCS button getting pressed, the DCS UFC changes to the proper indications, but the iPad UFC does not reflect any window data changes. I have copy-pasted the Export.lua and iUFCExport.lua files into "C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts". Is there a "goto" solution for this?

If you are asking me, I have no idea at all of what you are talking about. Pics may help. -
HOTAS Warthog load Script at Startup
Bailey replied to BlackSharkAce's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thank you! I changed it up a bit because for some reason the virtual controller does not catch on, so I test in Game Control Panel. @echo TARGET Script launched.. @echo 1/3) Calling Script from TARGETGUI.. @Start "" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Thrustmaster\TARGET\x64\TARGETGUI.exe" -r "C:\YourPathHere\NameOfProfile.tmc" @timeout /t 1 @echo 2/3) Hiding TARGETGUI window to task bar.. @"nircmd.exe" win min process "TARGETGUI.exe" @timeout /t 1 @echo 3/3) Opening Game Controllers Panel.. @%SystemRoot%\System32\joy.cpl" @timeout /t 1 -
fixed Mission 14 Spring Tension kneeboard

Thank you for this report. I just ran into the same issue. -
Convert your normal TMWH mount to a rotated mount to match the rotation of the F-18, A-10, or whatever you feel like. The available range of rotation is 15 to 45 degrees. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4758393 The install instructions are in the link. Don't worry, all you need is a few M4 bolts, a screwdriver, and that's pretty much it! Oh, and a way to print RoMoCo I use Thrustmaster TARGET software to cancel out the angle. The script for that is included. I hope this can save some $$ for people that just need the rotation instead of an extension with a rotation. There is little chance that I will be changing this on my own because it does the job it was made for! Let me know if you have any sweet ideas.

Best solution for an angled TM grip
Bailey replied to Hellbat's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just made these today. Hopefully it can help in your decision. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4758393 I am using a TM TARGET Profile to cancel out the twist. -
TMWH rotation offset in Target GUI?
Bailey replied to lobo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It is documented now. Check page 53 of TARGET_SCRIPT_EDITOR_basics.pdf. Also page 14. -
Yep. I used the left one for aircraft TDC. I use the right one with bands for chaff, flare, and f14 DTC. And some other random stuff.
-
You may be able to search for a ICLS Everywhere mod that enable the use of it and the hornets systems on airports. Last time I used it, it was IC safe.

I have had instances where I launch, turn away (with the target on-screen the entire time) and the rocket misses. I have not had time to review a replay of what happened to the rocket. I am always within about 7 miles during the entire maneuver, firing at 4nm. It’s almost like the laser is shadowed by the aircraft but it’s not being represented via the MFD screen.

Hi there and thank you. Currently, A-10C2 HMD configurations are not possible to my knowledge. I have asked the devs here on the forums to open that up to lua. Hopefully they can in the figure.

That is a good tip for those out there. I would, but I only have 80, haha. (And I personally don't mind.)

A project fueled by aircraft habits.... and a tiny rig. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4750811 The Combat pedals support "heel-on-floor" type movement, similar to what you see in the F18, F16, B737, and others. The height, and therefore the feel of the braking action, is adjustable. The Bar pedals support helicopters, MiGs, and some WW2 aircraft rudder type movement. Examples include the Huey, KA50, Spitfire, MiG29, and others where the rudder does not control aircraft braking. The Orange Pedal is the pedal from the Open Hornet Project - The number on the file indicates the width of that pedal in millimeters. The total width of a MFG Crosswind with the Combat80s installed is 430mm. These pedals were made with space constraints and print time in mind. No support is required for these pedals. Print them sideways. Adhesion can be used, but is not necessary. The largest pedal (Combat140s) can be printed within 10 hours. Invert the pedal to get the one for the other side.

Ottoman Courier M2 has two kneeboards, which caused some confusion with frequencies. Also, both columns said COMM 1, instead of one saying COMM 1 and the other saying COMM 2.

After a few tries (for different problems), this bug is squashed. Thanks!
