Can’t comment on that particular board but my last 3 builds had Gigabyte motherboards and they worked just fine. Although I did choose an Asus board for my 8700k build.

I had a Rift running on a i7 4970K and a GTX 1070 and it ran just fine

Right now I have all cores running at 4.8 and memory running at xmp speed. All stable so far and good temps.

I haven’t installed the parts yet. Doing it this weekend.

I checked into it. Definitely not something I'm willing to do right now. Although it seems pretty straight forward, I'll wait on it.
-
I'll look into it, but right now I'm not ready to go that extreme.

I did the same thing with a piece of plywood.

Gotcha. Yeah, the graphite color is really nice. This is the 2nd set I've owned after selling the first set last year. The precision is incredible. I just need to experiment with the soft spring to find the right balance.

Received my graphite pedals the other day.

New Rift + Touch Bundle Pricing after Sale = 499.00
Lucky replied to dburne's topic in Virtual Reality
I had reached out to Oculus after I bought the Rift w/o touch from them for $499.00 almost a month before the sale and asked for a refund and touch controllers. I was still within the 30 day return window. They responded with an offer of a $200.00 store credit on software and apps, no hardware. I accepted the offer and then decided to buy the touch controllers anyway. They should be here Friday from Newegg. -
Am I the only one who loves the Rift and VR in general but find it more difficult to play DCS seriously with it. Things like keyboard commands, 9 line briefs are a PITA to deal with with the Rift on. I think I'm going back to my TIR 5 and save the Rift for other VR games and less serious flying in DCS.

Since my order isn't finalized yet I was able to add the soft spring to it. I should get my invoice on 7/17 and hopefully have them the following week.

Received an email from Milan. Should receive my invoice next week. Also in case no one saw, he also said NEWS FROM MFG We recently changed our spring supplier due to some troubles with the old one. We used that opportunity to make a revision of the spring designs for our product. Pedals that will be delivered to you already include new modified springs. While we don't have pictures to show, we can tell you what's changed : - Brake axis springs are made of thicker wire and slightly modified ( torsion diameter, hooking point, zinc plating in matt color) ...result is better looking spring that provide approx 10% stronger feedback on brakes with less friction and less squeek sounds. - Main rudder centering spring is also zinc plated in matt finish to reflect the overall design of the pedals. NEW SOFT CENTERING SPRING ADDON IS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE Cost is 2.4 eur ( 3 eur incl. TAX for EU customers) Since our order form is not yet updated for it...If you wish to order a new soft spring you can simply add a note under your order : "softspring" Of course, realistic centering spring is always supplied with the pedals. If you order "softspring" you will recieve both realistic and soft one, 2x in total. DESCRIPTION : to understand which spring we are talking about here take a look at this video : As opposed to the old spring which is made super realistic, new spring is made of 0,2mm thinner wire, a 10mm shorter, have less coils, bigger outside diameter and less pre-tension on the spring. All of these factors result in a spring that look almost the same as the old one, but provide very different - softer centering feel. While pre-tension of the centering force can be set as before - so customer can regulate how "return to center" feel... moving rudder axis toward the end of deflection ( max rudder ) is much easier with a new spring ( as opposed to the old spring which require quite a punch like in the real world aircraft). This new "unrealistic" spring is more comfortable for flying over extended periods, and provide more precision in a dogfight , while still retaining the superb feel MFG Crosswinds are known about. We decided to offer such spring to provide "the edge" in air combat for everyone who enjoy such flight. Due to the nature of a weak spring we feel that new spring will also be welcomed by helicopter pilots.

Bought the Rift from Oculus on 6/18/17 for $499.00. I sent them an email hoping to take advantage of the sale price. If I have to return it then I will do that. Even if the hit me with a 15% restocking fee I'm still ahead. EDIT: Got a response from them. All it says is they will look into it and get back to me as soon as possible. I'll wait another few days and if I don't get a satisfactory response I'll return it and purchase it at the sale price.

Warthog on sale in US @ Dell $332.99 + tax
Lucky replied to automag928's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This isn't my first one. I've been away from flight sims for almost a year and had sold all my controllers. Decided to get back into them so I ordered the Warthog, an Oculus Rift and a set of MFG Crosswinds. -

I just took advantage of that offer myself. -
I had the same reaction when I used it in the A-10C for the first time. I've been away from flight sims for almost a year now and sold my Rift and other controllers. Just the other day I decided to get back into them, so I ordered a Rift, TM Warthog and a set of MFG Crosswinds.

Had the same issue with an extension. Ended up dismantling the base which gave a little more gripping area to remove the extension. Be careful as it wouldn't take much to break the neck of the joystick. Also gave me the opportunity to regrease the innards.

I'm in Albany.

Well, you could return them.:music_whistling: Anyway, sorry, just made the decision today.
