  1. 1. Yesterday I tried the Hornet over Persian Gulf SuperCarrier (20.38.01) in Multiplayer with one other pilot. So I klicked the FirstMission.bat, "m" for multiplayer, said I want 4 clients in the Hornets (didn't want to have AI wingmen in the flight) and selected 0 players in other aircrafts. Mission was created and looked good. After the mission was launched and unpaused, it was only me (Host) sitting on the deck of the carrier and our escort flights of 6 F-14's were already circling around the carrier. My mate wasn't able to get in the cockpit. Tried "select role" several times: "You're flight is delayed, please wait!" (Also tried it with a longer time for takeoff preparation and with 2 clients, same result! Didn't try it with cold start option yet.) At the end I had to edit a Single Player mission and made my wingman client and unchecked the "delayed start" options for our flight. That way it worked well. 2. Another strange thing: I saw two Tomcats catch a wire on the LHA Tarawa! :blink: Didn't happen before. Perhaps a new bug after the last update? 3. Is it possible to prevent the carrier group from turning at all? This "turn in the wind option" is already set to false, but it keeps turning quiet often, messes up the ship formation completely and is really "challenging" if it starts turning after you just called the ball! :crazy: As always: Keep up this outstanding work, fly safe and stay healthy!:v:
  2. When I tried the TF71 80's, the Russians made some heavy attacks during the first missions. Large formations of Bear's and Backfires came in and it was kind of an air battle to defeat them.
  3. Same for me with ValVe Index. It happened after the last update and only in bright daylight on the SC.
  4. Yes, klick the file and a black window (not widow) will pop up and ask you if you want to continue. After few seconds you can choose between the different tasks.
  5. Do you alway use the "firstmission.bat" after first install or after changes you made? So the window pops up during a mission and not when you end it? If I remember right, I saw this in former DCE campaigns on occasion. Did you disable older scriptmod versions and double checked if the latest scriptmod is activated?
  6. I'm really into those DCE campaigns. What's going on there on the SC deck is quiet impressive. CAP-flights, recovery tankers, AWACS take there turns on station, while you and other AI flights conduct their missions. It really feels like US naval power is going to war and you are only one pilot making his contribution. It often happens that you or another AI flight arrive at mother when another flight is rolling to the cat, getting hooked up or preparing for launch. The deck crew stops working on getting those birds in the air most of the time. They go to "recovery position" and leave the AI flight where it is. Quiet often one jet is trying to reach cat 3 or 4 and stops sitting in the middle of the wires and wont move on any more. The flights in the pattern get a "signal charlie" and do their case I approach. From there you can see wave off after wave. Of course You wont get a signal charlie when your flight is the one disturbing the launch operation. One time I saw a flight of 2 Hornets got devided. Lead made it in the air, while jets were in the pattern. After he was up, I saw several traps of AI's. Number 2 launched after and was running after his lead with full burners but nobody blocked the deck at least. Got no track or screenshot, but can be reproduced easily. There will be some sorties against the russians later! :-) BTW: If I look back to the beginning of LOMAC and see what we got now and how DCS feels in VR is absolutely amazing and worth every gram of the tons and tons of money you better spend on your hardware! :poster_offtopic:
  7. Same for me on the SC deck. It does not happen always. It seems it only occures during bright daytime when I look to the left or lets say to the "island" of the carrier. Dusk/Dawn is ok. I use a Valve Index on a RTX2080ti.
  8. Yeah mate... it's sooooooo obvious. :-) Just kidding. "END EVERY LINE WITH ---> \ <--- In your savegame line is a " / " instead of " \ " Change it and I'm sure it will work! Don't forget to config your missionscripting.lua file after a patch. "--" must be added in two lines there again. When you need to config your campaign, checkout the campconf.lua file. You can adjust the pre launch time on the deck, exclude night time mission and lots of other stuff. Now make the Navy proud and Happy Hunting!
  9. The path has to point in your DCS(OpenBeta) Directory. I was struggeling too, at the beginning. Today I don't know why. The instruction is really good. And if you don't have an f: directory it can only be wrong, or? You have to change two paths! The other must point to your DCS(OpenBeta) User Savegames. It works like hell and is so much fun.   10. Most pilots who struggle to find targets with the TGP will close in on the target area, lose altitude and/or airspeed while heads down in cockpit. Make sure to establish an orbit some miles away from target area and use autopilot as desired. The closer you get, the smaller your FOV is.
  11. Wait for the next OB patch guys. After that the hornet will finally be able to handle GRID coordinates. There is a mod that lets the JTAC provide LAT/LONG coordinates what is not as cool as the GRID format. Be aware of the fact that setting up a JTAC in ME is a little "tricky" and often won't work at first try.
  12. No mate. I usually realize it in mid flight while checking the boat with F9 or on my way back to the carrier: When an AI Flight returns from a mission while another flight is taxing or gets hooked up to a cat. The deck crew moves into landing position and no aircraft will leave the deck anymore. Everything is stucked and you can watch waveoff after waveoff. Can be a single hornet sitting in the wires, blocking the angled deck or a group of aircrafts behind the bow cats what leaves the angled deck free for a trap, but with same result. I want to express how much fun I have (and already had) with DCE once more. The described issue is something that ED has to fix with the commanding AirBoss but perhaps you guys have a work around. :thumbup:
  13. My excuse for not learning the CASE III recovery: Night flying was always a pain in the a**. Since they reworked the night lighting, it looks absolutely awesome to fly over the desert with a shining moon! But now we have those "white dot labels" on every single unit/object/weapon. An infantry squad looks like an angry mob with torches from above. Please ED, get this fixed :cry:
  14. Anybody had the problem of AI flights blocking the deck of the Super Carrier? Happens in PG and TF71. It looks like the carrier quits launch operations while aircrafts are rolling to the cat when other AI flights arrive back from their mission. Besides that everything works so incredibly well!!! I hope that this can get fixed in DCE not DCS what will take much longer.:music_whistling:

  16. No, it's not turning. It seems that this always happens when there is no GPS support from above. When I forgot to swith to IFA in Hornet over PG Super carrier, another problem showed up: The SPI, after marking via VVSL for the TPOD, was far off the intended location. There is a quiet detailed INS aligment instruction somewhere in the forum, but it does simply not behave like it should. I even tried to work around by setting up the sat/nav in the ME and the DCS options. It's still not available. Is there an option in those lua files to activate it? EDIT: I manipulated the conf.lua file to have the player flight starting with running engines: Bomb fall line looks normal! In a former test I set the mission date from 1986 to 1996 and tried INS alignment with switching to IFA at the end what gives me a failure. A hotstart seems to work well in both dates. I think the INS alignment (without GPS support) on the carrier is still bugged somehow...
  17. I wanted to give the TF71 80's Super Carrier a try. No matter what I do Iam not able to use unguided bombs due to a failure of INS alignment I guess. Searched the forum on how to do it properly but no way! The CCIP bomb fall line does not go straight down. AUTO (CCRP) mode is not usable as well. Tried Inflight Alignment, navigation seems to be good, but not the weapon delivery modes. What am I missing here?
  18. A simple one: Do not fly straight into the target area while searching. Orbit a few miles out in higher altitude while using the TPOD to find targets! Automatic Throttle Control and Barometric Altitude Hold will make it easy for you!
  19. Had one more problem with my Wingmen during anti-ship strikes. (Hornets over PG Supercarrier 20.38.01 in OpenBeta) When I give the order "Attack mission target and rejoin" they will not "allways" attack the intended shipgroup. It seems that they fire their harpoons at a random hostile ship anywhere on the map. I have a really hard time to take out that frigate, patroling near Queshm Island or what it's called... BTW: Will there be a ground invasion into Iran, after air defences and strategic targets are eliminated?
  20. one more: F-16 AI SEAD Flights use the AGM-45 Shrike instead of the AGM-88C HARM missile. What I observed is that those flights fire one Shrike at the SAM site, turn around and leave the AO. When I changed their loadout to HARMS they stay and supress the SAM's as long as they got missiles. another one: (perhaps more DCS bug related) During a longer mission (escort for a strike mission) I saw a Hornet on the deck of the SC stuck somewhere in the wires. It should roll to a cat but instead it blocked the hole deck of the carrier. More and more flights were spawning and waiting with running engines on the deck. a last one: Don't think it has much to do with your work. AI Tomcat crashed (really slow) into a S-3B tanker while trying to refuel. It looked like the cat was trying to push the tanker forward.

  22. Same for me. Really annoying. Happens only on the deck of the SC. Had this problem month ago in the F16 single mission "island style" during startup with all those AI flight starting around you. I'm using the Valve index on RTX2080ti.
