  1. In recent builds of DCS Open Beta I used to be able to command multiple things for Iceman to do. I could tell him to descend to absolute angels 20, then tell him to go to relative bearing 30 deg right, and then tell him to increase speed by 100 kts. Iceman would be able to perform all three requests simultaneously. In the current build of DCS Open Beta Iceman can no longer complete multiple tasks at the same time. He stops one task to perform the next one requested by the RIO. Should be easy to reproduce, but I can supply a track file if it's necessary.
  2. Pretty sure the CCM values only affect the missile itself, not anything in between. So only post pitbull shots, or PDSTT.
  3. I don't believe it's linear, FYI.
  4. Chaff is just clutter with insufficient momentum to create doppler shift outside of the notch filter, and PD radars reject it the same way they reject a notching aircraft. Frankly I don't know why the value is higher than 0.0.
  5. That's an interesting idea.
  6. Yessir, I still use Track-IR. Interesting insights about VR...
  7. That's funny, I do the opposite and lower myself before every flight otherwise I feel like I'm staring at a canopy bow. There is a seat elevation function by the way. Not sure if there's a switch in the cockpit too, but you can keymap the function.
  8. I actually have started to use the dial to trim the ladder to the outside world during recovery. It's pointless to do when cruising around, or in A2A, because it's aligned to the wings symbol, but landing mode gives you a FPM, so there is some logic to using the trim dial to align to the outside horizon when landing. I still pay more attention to the VSI though. It's more accurate than the pitch ladder.
  9. Does air sorce have to be off? I've never noticed that before.
  10. Yeah bro, the tanker lighting in this sim is inexcusable. Lights don't even show up until you're close enough for the highest LOD model. And they don't cast enough ambient light to partially illuminate the space around the tanker. Hopefully ED is working on it.
  11. I have also noticed that the refueling light only illuminates a basket 3-5 feet away directly in front of the light. Not very useful at all. Unfortunately, I asked Ward Carrol on his youtube video about AAR if that was realistic in the Tomcat, and he said it sounded about right.
  12. It could be that your technique needs work. It would be helpful if you had some video to share.
  13. I haven't experienced a single hook skip yet.
  14. Ah, you are correct. The instructor says you can use full flaps if desired, but maneuver flaps should be good enough for that particular training mission.
  15. Not the tutorial I played. It suggested maneuver flaps for land based takeoffs, and flaps for CV.
  16. I noticed the ME loadout thing pre-patch. If you remove the phoenix pylons, and try to re-add them they wouldn't come back on. You had to reload the AIM-54 and just remove the payload only.
  17. +1 The new burble is a PITA. I can't figure out the technique yet. RIP all users of auto throttle.
  18. Good lord. I have to re-wire all my muscle memory now. Thanks for setting me straight guys.
  19. Yeah so you can see it in that video too. Roll to the right, the nose yaws to the left. (Slip/Adverse Yaw). But the ball also goes left. Etc. Edit: Oh I should've kept watching. I see now what's going on. I'm using the wing symbol as my reference but I should be using the datum instead.
  20. Ignore the ball and look out the window. You said the F-14 should generate proverse yaw in roll onset because of the wing spoiler. It does not do that in DCS. It's adverse yaw.
  21. It's not doing that in DCS World though. Watch my video again. I align the wing symbol with the peak of a mountain, roll back and fourth and each time there is adverse yaw present, not proverse. It's right there to see in slow motion.
  22. Yeah man. My opinions are invalid. I'm just here to be negative and complain. You figured it out.
  23. At 3:11, a similar demonstration to my video. The ball moves accordingly with adverse yaw. I think this supports the findings in my video that the ball is behaving oppositely to how it should during roll in the DCS F-14.
  24. Thanks for the reply, Spiceman. (Love your channel and vids btw). Yeah, it seems to behave predictably in straight and level flight, and it's great for zeroing out asymmetry. But it behaves in ways I didn't expect during maneuvers. I've never flown an airplane in real life, but a commercial pilot friend of mine who saw the video thought the behavior was odd, so I thought it was worth asking. Edit: He still thinks it looks odd after I shared your explanation to him, for what it's worth.
